5 1. INSTALLING AND COMMISSIONING 1.1. Mounting the control panel Select a dry location close to an un-switched AC power supply, with a good earth connection. If the system is to be monited by a central station and/ if it is intended to transmit voice messages, the location must be close to a telephone line. Mount the cabinet securely on the wall with 4 screws. Lay all the system cables into the cabinet, through one of the holes especially made f this purpose on the rear side of the metal case. Prepare the cables f connections Mounting the Keypad The keypad must be located close to the designated entry/exit do and mounted at a convenient height f all users. Open the keypad case and mount the back plate on the wall. Insert the keypad wires inside the keypad and prepare them f connection Wiring Note: Complete all wiring to the control panel befe applying battery AC power. Wiring should be perfmed accding to the general mounting diagram bellow: CERBER C612 CONTROL PANEL 1. In the above drawing is an example of an outdo self-powered sounder with flash (model CERBER SA11) connected to a CERBER C If both indo and outdo sounders are used simultaneously, the 2K2 resist should be connected to the outdo sounder. Imptant notice: F me details on how you can connect detects to the zone inputs see appendix A. 5

6 1.4. Connects The following connects can be found on the control panel PCB: AUX-, AUX+ Connects f auxiliary power supply These terminals are the power supply f keypads, PIR detects and other active devices in the system, which require power from a 13.8Vcc supply). The maximum load on these terminals cannot exceed 2A. Pay attention to polarity! Y (yellow), G (green) Keypad communication connects PGM1, PGM2 PGM1 - open collect output 1 with negative trigger (NPN); maximum current capability: 50mA (at +13.8Vcc). PGM2 - open collect output 2 with negative trigger (NPN); maximum current capability: 50mA (at +13.8Vcc). BELL + Siren output BELL+ is a positive trigger output (PNP), with 2K2 EOL supervision resist. Z1, COM, Z2, Z3, COM, Z4, Z5, COM, Z6. Terminals f control panel hardwired zones; see the general mounting diagram and the zones wiring diagrams. PHONE Phone set connects. LINE Telephone line connects 6

7 2. SYSTEM PARAMETERS PROGRAMMING ( main programming menu ) In der to enter the programming menu of system parameters ( main programming menu ), the installer should use the command [][8][Installer s programming code], while the system is partially armed. 1. The default value of the installer s programming code is 0269 and it should be changed befe after the system parameters were programmed. 2. All programming sections are dedicated to the installer and only some of them are accessible to the master user, too. 3. If the digital communicat will be enabled by programming and the cresponding repting codes will be programmed, too, then any accessing of main programming menu by the installer ( by the master user) will be transmitted to CS, as follows: - In case of any 4x2 fmats will be set by programming, the control panel will transmit to CS the same specific repting codes regarding programming entry / programming exit / panel programming changed events, which will be set in [61] and [62] sections, even the respective operations will be perfmed by the installer by the master user (whether these operations are perfmed by the installer by the master user, there will be no difference between them in 4x2 fmats). - In case of CID fmat will be set by programming, the control panel will transmit to CS the specific repting codes regarding programming entry / programming exit / panel programming changed, which will be set in [72] and [73] sections; after the 4-digit group specific to these repting events the panel will transmit to CS another 3-digit group which stands f master user f installer identifying. In CID fmat the installer will be identified as user 000 and the master user as user 001. System programming parameters are explained bellow. To enter the programming menu of system parameters ( main programming menu ), follow the next steps: 1. Enter the command: [][8][Installer s programming code]; After entering the installer s programming code, the keypad buzzer will sound 3 beeps, confirming the system is being within main programming menu. Depending on the keypad that you are using f the prgamming procedure, there are 2 distinct situations f confming the entrance in the main programming menu, as follows: Case A: keypad model KP-126P (LED keypad): While the system is being within main programming menu, the ARMED A LED is ON, SYSTEM LED is OFF and all the other status LEDs (ARMED B, READY A, READY B and BYPASS) are OFF. Case B: keypad model KP-612LCD KP-612LCLD (LCD keypads): While the system is being within main programming menu, on the screen you will see: Choice Sect: Note: The main programming menu can be exited by key pressing. When exiting the main programming menu, the system will go back within disarmed status and the keypad LEDs will display the system and zone status. 2. In der to program the system parameters, you should select one of the sections from [01] to [99]. While the system is being within main programming menu, in der to enter each section, you should enter 2-digit der number of the respective section, by entering the 2 digits cresponding to the section number (i.e. f section no. 7 enter [0] and [7] keys). After entering the 2 digits cresponding to the section number, the keypad buzzer will beep f 3 times, confirming the system is being within respective section. On the KP-126P keypad, the status LEDs will be ARMED A - ON, SYSTEM - blinking, READY A - ON, READY B OFF, BYPASS OFF and zone 1 LED ON, OFF blinking, and zone LEDs 2 to 12 ON OFF, accding to the selected section. 7

8 2.1 Each programming section has got one several programming submenus. Once any programming section was selected, the system finds itself within 1 -st submenu of the programming section (which may be a single one) and within submenus the system is waiting f some specific data to be entered from the keypad. After a complete data set, specific to each submenu, was entered, the keypad buzzer will sound 3 confirmation beeps and the system will pass to the next submenu of the programming section. After a complete data set, specific to the last submenu was entered, the keypad buzzer will sound 6 confirmation beeps and the system will go back within main programming menu. Within some submenus programming sections, the specific data are as option, attribute rights types; the status of these options ( attributes) is displayable on 1 to 8 LEDs (on KP-126P) in clear message (only f KP-612LCD KP-612LCDL). In der to turn these options ( attributes, rights) activate/deactivate, you should press [1] to [8] keys and the cresponding Zone LEDs will turn ON/OFF (on KP-126P) you will see the new value in clear text (only on KP-612LCD KP-612LCDL). As f the LED keypads, if the cresponding zone LED is ON means the respective option ( attribute/right) is activated and, if the cresponding zone LED is OFF means the respective option ( attribute/right) is deactivated. Finally, to confirm the option, attribute rights data and pass to the next submenu ( go back within main programming menu ), the installer must press key. Remark: Certain sections may require entries of HEX digits. To enter these HEX-values, press [] key followed by a number from 0 to 5, accding to the table below: HEX digit Decimal value Keys to be pressed A 10 [][0] B 11 [][1] C 12 [][2] D 13 [][3] E 14 [][4] F 15 [][5] Note: On the LED keypad, after pressing [] key, the READY A LED will be blinking and after digit was pressed, the LED will stay ON. As f the LCD keypads there is no special confirmation, as you can see the proper value in clear. 2.2 While the system is being within any submenu of each programming section, modifying of that parameters can be canceled by key pressing; the system will pass to the next submenu. 3. While the system is being within main programming menu, in der to program/modify another set of parameters within another programming section, you should start the procedure from step no Finally, in der to exit the main programming menu, you should press key. Note: The control panel is programmed to leave any programming menu automatically 2 minutes after the last key pressing. Thus, 2 minutes after the keypad was last wked with, the system will exit that submenu automatically, passing within next submenu on the next programming level, as if key is pressed. Each time when the system passes automatically from one submenu to the next, the keypad buzzer will sound 3 confirmation beeps. In case that submenu is the last one within any programming section, the keypad buzzer will sound 6 confirmation beeps and the system will go back within main programming menu. In case the system stays within main programming menu me than 2 minutes since the keypad was last wked with, then the system will go back within disarmed status. Sections 01 to 12 : Zone s definitions Zone characteristic programming is perfmed within [01] to [12] sections. While the system is being within main programming menu, select the respective section from [01] to [12] f each zone from 1 to 12 and then enter the following sequence: [ ][ ][ATTRIBUTES 1 ][ATTRIBUTES 2 ][ATTRIBUTES 3 ], where [ ][ ] is a 2-digit group f type of the selected zone and ATTRIBUTES 1, ATTRIBUTES 2 and ATTRIBUTES 3 are 1, 2 and 3 attribute sets f selected zone. 8

9 While the system is being within main programming menu, you should follow the next steps to program the characteristics of each zone from 1 to 12: 1. Select one of the sections from [01] to [12]. Next, the keypad buzzer will sound 3 confirmation beeps and the panel is waiting f another 2-digit group to be entered, which stands to the type of the selected zone. 1.1 Set the type of the selected zone by entering a 2-digit group, accding to the table bellow: Zone KP-612LCD (KP-612LCDL) type 1 st line message 2 nd line message Description [00] Type zone: Zxx Not used Unused zone [01] Type zone: Zxx Delayed 1 These zone types are usually used f entry/exit detections. The zones can be violated during the exit delay without causing an alarm. Once the system/partition is armed, first violation of these zones will start the appropriate entry-delay timer. The user must disarm the system/partition befe the appropriate entry-delay timer elapses the system will generate an alarm. If a delayed zone triggers the alarm, the system the appropriate partition will switch to an instant wking mode which will be signaled by a fast blinking of the cresponding ARMED LED. There are 2 entry-delay timers: - the entry delay 1 timer which applies to all zones defined as type of delayed 1 and [02] Type zone: Zxx Delayed 2 - The entry delay 2 timer which applies to all zones defined as type of delayed 2. Entry delay 1, delay 2 and exit delay times may be independently set from 1 to 255 seconds within [36] and [37] sections. The default settings are 30 seconds f each entry delay time and 60 seconds f each exit delay time. [03] Type zone: Zxx Follower This zone type is usually used f interi detection devices, such as motion detects. The zone will not cause an alarm if it is violated during the entry delay of the respective partition. However, if the zone is violated befe the entry delay has started it will generate an instant alarm. The follower zone can be violated during the exit delay without causing an alarm. [04] Type zone: Zxx Instant This zone type is used f interi detection devices, such as motion detects that are not situated within entry/exit area. The instant zones can be violated during the exit delay without causing an alarm, too, but once the system/partition is armed, the zones will generate an instant alarm if they are violated (they will trigger the alarm as soon as they are violated). [05] Type zone: Zxx 24h The 24-hour burglary zones are permanently active irrespective of the armed disarmed system/partition status. This zone type is useful f connection of glass-break detects. [10] Type zone: Zxx Tamper The sabotage (tamper) zones are permanently active irrespective of the armed disarmed system/partition status. This type is used f connection of tamper contacts in the system to prevent any sabotage attempt after the system installation and commissioning. [11] Type zone: Zxx Panic The panic zones are permanently active irrespective of the armed disarmed system/partition status. This type is used f connection of panic switchers/pedals f a specific event to occur in emergency situations that can be repted to a CS. [12] Type zone: Zxx Fire The fire zones are permanently active irrespective of the armed disarmed system/partition status. This type is used f smoke detects. The acoustic warning in case of this zone type violation will be in pulse mode, having the highest alarm priity. [13] Type zone: Zxx Med.emerg The medical emergency zones are permanently active irrespective of the armed disarmed system/partition status. This type is useed f connection of panic switches/pedals f a specific event to occur in emergency situations that can be repted to a CS. [14] Type zone: Zxx Keysw/panic Each time this zone type is activated, the system will arm/disarm as regards to its previous armed/disarmed status. If this zone type is violated me than 4 seconds, it will generate a panic alarm, too. [15] Type zone: Zxx Stay keysw. Each time this zone type is activated, the system will stay arm disarm as regards to its previous armed/disarmed status. If this zone type is violated me than 4 seconds, then it will generate a panic alarm, too. If the guardian rounds were started previously, any violation of this zone type will make the siren sound f the ding time defined [16] Type zone: Zxx Round in section [42].If this zone type is activated me than 30 seconds, then it will generate a special event ( ambush on round ), too, if the guardian rounds were started previously. No alarm will occur by violation of this zone type. Note: any violation of the tamper, panic, fire and medical emergency zone types will produce: 1. Specific code repting to the central station, if the digital communicat is enabled by programming and the appropriate repting codes are programmed, too. 2. Specific voice messages repting to the follow me phone numbers which are programmed, if the voice/sound dialer is properly programmed. Instead of entering a new value f the zone type, by pressing the key, the previous selected type of the zone can be maintained. After the 2-digit group cresponding to the selected zone type was entered ( after key pressing), the keypad buzzer will sound 3 confirmation beeps and the panel will pass to the next step, displaying the ATTRIBUTES 1 set on 1 to 8 LEDs (on KP-126P) as described in the following tabel, on the screen of the KP-612LCD KP-612LCDL keypads. 9

10 By key pressing, ATTRIBUTES 1 set can be maintained as it was previously established. 1.2 First set of zone attributes are detailed in the table below. In der to establish the ATTRIBUTES 1 set, you should press 1 to 8 keys. The alarm triggered by a zone with this attribute established as silent will occur without siren activating. Note: By default the alarm attribute is set as audible f all 1 to 12 zones. Attribute 2: Attribute 3: Attribute 4: This attribute is referring to the siren-activating mode steady pulsing and f a same zone the set value of this attribute does mater only if the previous attribute was set as audible. The alarm triggered by a zone with this attribute established as steady siren type will activate the siren in a continuously mode f a time lapse set in section [38]. The alarm triggered by a zone with this attribute established as pulsing siren will activate the siren in a pulsing mode (3 seconds ON alternating with 1 second OFF) f same time lapse set in section [38]. Note: By default the siren-activating attribute is set as steady f all 1 to 12 zones. When a zone allows manually bypassing it will allow to be bypassed by one of the commands: [][3][User code] [BYPASS][User Code]. Note: By default this attribute is enabled f all 1 to 12 zones. During the same armed period ( during the same disarming period f 24h zones) the control panel will automatically bypass ( from swinger ) any zone which allows autoshutdown and after the zone initiate a number of consecutive alarms equal with swinger shutdown counter. After that the zone will no longer generate an alarm. After the control panel has bypassed a zone from swinger, it will rept an event code to the central station, if it is programmed within 55 and 66 sections. This feature is a function of the zone restes option (see [32] section). During the same armed period ( during the same disarming period f 24h zones) the zone will be bypassed from swinger only: After the siren has cut-off consecutive times, f a number equal with swinger shutdown counter, if zone reste event is set to occur upon bell cut-off; After the zone has violated and closed back f a number equal with swinger shutdown counter, if zone reste event is set to occur upon zone closure. 10

11 Thus, during the same armed period ( during the same disarming period f 24h zones), a zone which allows auto shutdown will trigger: A maximum alarm number equal with swinger shutdown counter established in [41] section, if zone reste event is set to occur upon zone closure; A maximum number of siren timer triggering equal with swinger shutdown counter established in [41] section, if zone reste event is set to occur upon bell cut-off; please note that in this case, if the rept only first zone alarm option is disabled, too, such a zone may recd me alarms than swinger shutdown counter. Note: By default this attribute is disabled f all 1 to 12 zones. Attribute 5: When a zone allows fced arming, it will allow system/partition arming although the zone is being violated at the very moment of arming (i.e. the system can be armed even though the PIR detect nearby the keypad detects movement when arming). Note: By default this attribute is disabled f all 1 to 12 zones. Attribute 6: When a zone has the chime attribute enabled, then wile the system is disarmed and the chime feature was activated previously by the command [][6], any opening of the zone will make the keypad buzzer to sound f 6 warning beeps. The zone speed defines how quickly the control panel will respond to an open zone. The control panel will not display and/ respond to an open zone until the programmed zone speed elapses. All other zone definitions and options do not come into effect until the zone speed has elapsed. The zone speed can be set either 50ms (fast detection) 300ms (slow detection). This feature prevents any momentary glitches in the system from causing an alarm unnecessary repting. 12 All the second set of attributes are presented below: Attribute 1: Attribute 2: Attribute 3: Attribute 4: Attribute 5: Attribute 6: Attribute 7: If an alarm condition occurs on a zone identified as intellizone, the control panel will trigger a timer and will not generate an alarm until one of the following conditions occurs within the Intellizone Time Window : a) An alarm condition occurs on another zone identified as intellizone during intellizone time delay, b) The zone that is in alarm has rested and the alarm re-occurred during intellizone time delay the zone that is in alarm remains in alarm the entire intellizone time delay. 1. Intellizone timer will only begin after the zone speed period has elapsed; 2. By default this attribute is disabled f all 1 to 12 zones. When a zone has the sens under test attribute enabled, it will no longer trigger the alarm, but each opening/closing of the zone loop will recd a special event into the 800- event LOG. Each opening of any under test zone will recd in the specially alarm memy, too, which is keypad displayable in section [94], if these zones was violated in the system since the last resetting of the especially alarm memy, perfmed by installer. If these zones allow auto shutdown, then during the same arming period ( during the same disarming period f 24h zones), then swinger shutdown will be counting the restation numbers of this zone which was violated. In case the number of restations gets the swinger shutdown counter value, the respective zone will be automatic bypassed from swinger. Only this event will be transmitted to the central station. Note: By default this attribute is disabled f all 1 to 12 zones. Chose the contacts type (NC NO) in accdance with the nmally closed open contacts of your detection devices which are connected on the zone input terminals. Note: By default this attribute is set such as the contacts type to be set as NC (nmally closed) f all 1 to 12 zones. Enable this feature if your security installation requires tamper recognition on some zone input terminals (see zone connections). Note: By default this feature is disabled f all 1 to 6 hardware zones. Enable this feature f zone input terminals which the system requires the use of end of line resist (see zone connections). Note: By default this feature is enabled f all 1 to 6 hardware zones (all 1 to 6 hardware zones use EOL resists). Advanced technology zone (ATZ) connections allow you to install two detection devices per input terminal, therefe, doubling zone capacity of the control panel. Advanced technology zoning is a software-iented feature, there is no need f extra modules, simply install the devices as shown in the sections of zone connections and the control panel will recognize the installed devices as shown there. The extra zones function exactly like any other zone displaying zone status on the keypad and sending separate alarm codes f each zone. Note: By default this feature is disabled f all 1 to 6 hardware zones. ATZ wiring type: series parallel connection (see instalation manual f details on that) After the ATTRIBUTES 2 set f selected zone was established to the required values, press key to confirm.
