1 JANUARY 2016 Monthly Report Our mission is to prevent and minimize the loss of life and property damage from fire to our citizens and visitors; to provide high quality emergency medical services; to mitigate the consequences of natural and man-made disasters; and to provide non-emergency support services within our realm of expertise through highly skilled, trained and dedicated personnel. 1

4 NFIRS Mutual Aid Incidents There were a total of (5) Mutual Aid/Automatic Aid NFIRS, (2) POV, (2) Mutual Aid Given, and (8) Medic-61 Incidents for the month of JANUARY. The type of aid/incidents given and received are noted below. MUTUAL AID Incident # On 01/19/2015, STFD was dispatched to an EMS call and no ambulances available, we received Mutual Aid from Springfield Medic 51. Incident # On 01/19/2015, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call and no ambulances were available, No ambulances were available, Mutual Aid was requested, during the wait, the patients stats changed and LS6 was called for transport. Incident # On 01/20/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call and LS3 was clear across Collingwood & Bancroft to come for transport. Incident # On 01/21/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call, there were no ambulances available, we received Mutual Aid from Richfield Township for Transport. Incident # On 12/16/2015, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call and received Mutual Aid from Springfield Township Fire for Transport. 4

5 NFIRS Mutual Aid Incidents There were a total of (5) Mutual Aid/Automatic Aid NFIRS, (2) POV, (2) Mutual Aid Given, and (8) Medic-61 Incidents for the month of JANUARY. The type of aid/incidents given and received are noted below. MEDIC-61 Incident # On 01/22/2016, STFD were dispatched for an EMS call and Lifestar East was initially dispatched but due to long estimated response time. M-61 was requested. Incident # On 01/26/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call and Medic-61 was requested. Incident # On 01/26/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call and Medic 61 was requested. Incident # On 01/27/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call and Medic-61 was requested. Incident # On 01/27/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call and Medic 61 was requested. 6 NFIRS Mutual Aid Incidents There were a total of (5) Mutual Aid/Automatic Aid NFIRS, (2) POV, (2) Mutual Aid Given, and (8) Medic-61 Incidents for the month of JANUARY. The type of aid/incidents given and received are noted below. MUTUAL AID GIVEN Incident # On 01/21/2016, STFD were dispatched To Give Mutual Aid to Springfield Township Fire but was canceled in Route. Incident # On 01/22/2016, STFD were dispatched To Give Mutual Aid to Springfield Township Fire Department Building Fire. POV Incident # On 01/07/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call, They were told that there was a minute wait for an ambulance, the patient decided to go POV by Taxi Cab. Incident # On 01/16/2016, STFD were dispatched to an EMS call, Patient was transported by POV. 6

7 Community Risk Reduction Public Safety Education During the month of January, we installed smoke alarms for (2) homes this month. The Fire Department assisted at (3) School Fire Drills. There was (1) safety Tour at a Fire Station. Building and Project Plan Reviews Notable Projects Fire Prevention/Community Risk Reduction conducted (4) plan reviews in January, (4) license inspections for preschool, daycare facilities and/or home inspections for Adoption and Foster Care, (9) final acceptance tests for installed or upgraded fire protection systems or new businesses. There were (2) Freedom of Information Act Requests (5077 Monroe & 6215 W. Central). There were (5) inspections with the State Fire Marshal Office and (5) Consultation requests from local businesses for safety and fire protection needs. There was (1) special inspection request due to hoarder. Fire Crews completed (9) inspections and re-inspections in January, finishing up from last year s process. Chief Froelich is currently preparing for this year s fire and life safety inspection program which should be starting in mid-february.. 7

8 LCEMS Continuing Education Training Hours Target Training # of Personnel Completed Hours FIRE TRAINING BUREAU Achieving proficiency and professionalism through training and education. Your has highly trained professionals that conduct Extensive year-round training activities to maintain and improve their skills In a variety if disciplines to help our personnel to perform the wide variety of missions they may be assigned as the role of the Firefighter-Paramedic continues to evolve. Our 3 new Recruits continued the Academy and started on their respective shifts on January 10, 11, and 12, They moved into Phase 2: Basic Shift Training/LS6 Ride Time and Certification. In order to be approved to function as a LVEMS Life Squad Paramedic, the 168-hour Paramedic Internship and Skill Evaluation form must be completed with an assigned Mentor, including the meeting with the Lucas County Medical Director. The Department also conducted Water/Ice Rescue Training at the Northview Pool, the Bi-Annual Officer s Meeting, Township-wide Diversity Training and a CPR re-certification of the entire department. The Fire Training Bureau finished the year out with a review of the History of the by reviewing a Power Point full of pictures and information gleaned from numerous sources. Lucas County EMS CE during January focused on OB Emergencies. Over 900 Hours of Training were conducted during the month of January. The ability to improve our service is generated through many ideas and initiatives that originate from Our personnel, It is their values, energy, commitment and compassion that drive many of the Fire Training Bureau s functions, programs, and activities that support the accomplishment of our Mission of providing excellent service to the community. 8
