3 ABOUT FIRESLEEVE High-bulk braided glass fibre tubing Iron oxide coated silicone rubber SECTION 1: FIRESLEEVE Firesleeve Applications Firesleeve is a tough flexible insulation to protect from intense external radiant heat and direct flame. Typically used to protect fuel, oil, hydraulic lines and hoses as well as critical wiring and cables. It can also be used to reduce heat loss from hoses. Firesleeve Construction Firesleeve is manufactured from high-bulk braided glass fibre tubing (non-asbestos), coated with silicone rubber and impregnated with a heavy loading of iron oxide to further improve heat and direct flame resistance. How Does Firesleeve Work? The iron oxide coated silicone rubber forms the external protection against radiant heat and direct flame. The insulation effect is further enhanced by the high thermal resistance factor of bulk braided glass fibre. Thermal Specifications: Continuous Operating Temp: 260 C High Temp Exposure (15-20 minute): 1090 C Extreme Temp Exposure (15-30 seconds): 1650 C

5 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Step 1. Determine outside diameter (OD) of your cable or hose to be protected by the firesleeve Acquire firesleeve with matching inside diameter (ID) Step 2. Cut sleeve to required length and slide firesleeve over the end Step 3. To assist in sleeve installation, you can use lightly compressed air. Step 4. Slide sleeve completely over line. Skin sleeve back from uncoupled end to allow for fitting installation, if requried. One fitting is installed, finalise sleeving and center Firesleeve on Step 5. Firmly attach band clamp near both sleeve ends. Follow proper installation instructions for your exact band clamp system. Step 6. Terminate sleeve ends with Silicone Rescue tape to prevent fluid wicking, thermal transfer and glass fiber escape. On dry clean Firesleeve, apply 1 wrap around rescue tape, then proveed to wrap towards fitting ensuring 50% overlap of silicone rescue tape. Ensure Sleeve end is fully wrapped and terminated with proper amalgamation and sealing

10 BURSTBUSTER SLEEVE & WRAP SECTION 3: BURSTBUSTER SLEEVE & WRAP About Burstbuster Burstbuster is produced from 100% polyamide with PU coating and Velcro - brand fasteners which make it very easy and fast to install on hose assemblies aftwerwards and repeatedly. This makes Burstbuster a very cost-effective solution for hose protection and bundling. In addition to protecting hoses, Burstbuster protects people nearby a breaking hose and meets the requirements of standards EN ISO 3457 and EN Burstbuster is UV protected (lasts at least 120 kly; Kilolangley, unit of measure for UV radiation) and according to UV-ageing tests the UV-ageing did not have a significant effect on the tensile properties or colour of the burstbuster sleeve.
