1 2016 Fall Revision Cycle Consent Document NFPA 1000 The Committee on Accreditation and Certification for Fire Service, Public Safety, and Related Personnel to Professional Qualifications Standards, produced a First Revision Report for NFPA 1000, Standard for Fire Service Professional Qualifications Accreditation and Certification Systems, and sought Public Comments. No Public Comments were received on this Standard and the Committee determined, through a letter ballot, that a meeting should not be held to consider the development of Second Revisions. Therefore, the proposed NFPA Standard, as revised in the First Draft Report, shall be considered a consent document. According to of the Regulations Governing the Development of NFPA Standards, NFPA 408 will be forwarded directly to the Standards Council for action in accordance with Section 4.7. NOTE: In accordance with 1.6.2(a) of the Regs, there is a fifteen day appeal period following the publication date of this report in which one may file an appeal related to the issuance of any Consent Document listed in this report. The final date to file any such appeal is July 9, Anyone can appeal to the Standards Council concerning procedural or substantive matters related to the development, content, or issuance of any document of the Association or on matters within the purview of the authority of the Council, as established by the Bylaws and as determined by the Board of Directors. Such appeals must be in written form and filed with the Secretary of the Standards Council (Regulations at 1.6). Time constraints for filing an appeal must be in according with of the Regulations. Objections are deemed to be resolved if not pursued at this level.

The Technical Committee on Accreditation and Certification for Fire Service, Public Safety, and Related Personnel to Professional Qualifications Standards met via teleconference on January 25, 2016, to consider the development of Second Revisions to the 2017 edition of NFPA The meeting resulted in no Second Revisions, therefore, the Technical Committee notifies the Correlating Committee that NFPA 1000 should be considered a Consent Standard. The Correlating Committee Chair, in consultation with the Staff Liaison, has deemed a Second Draft Meeting of the Correlating Committee unnecessary. In accordance with Section of the Regulations Governing the Development of NFPA Standards, the Correlating Committee will be balloted to determine whether to hold a Second Draft meeting to consider the development of Second Correlating Revisions to the 2017 Edition of NFPA Correlating Committee Meeting Determination Ballot to follow.
