4 Fire Department - Strategic Goals The Fire Department consists of competent and valued professionals dedicated to providing life safety, emergency services, and educational programs for the protection of life and property in our community. The mission is accomplished by holding devotion to duty above personal safety and comfort, and continually challenging our members to enhance the quality of services provided.
5 Municipal Code Ordinances In 2004, due to delays in service of central stations, required direct connection for any new business or substantial upgrades in businesses. (Alarm Detection Services vs. Hinsdale, Appellate Court confirmed the legality of direct connectivity.) In 2009, required all direct connect phone line businesses to switch to the Wireless Radio Network.
6 Role of Alarms Central Station Connection Unsecured phone line connection (retail, industrial, public & private schools) Central Station Dispatch Center Problem: delay in report to Fire Department.
