Scope: This manual is valid for the RMS Monitoring Software from Version The low-order digit of the software version stands for minor changes, e.g. correction of errors, that do not influence the main functionality of the software. This instruction manual describes the implementation of a monitoring system: creation of users, user rights, group structures, adding of devices and configuration of alarm functions. Installation of the software and database and operation of the monitoring system are described in the manuals E-IM- RMS-WEB and E-OM-RMS-WEB. 1 Overview The software consists of server software and a database. The server software and database can be installed on the same or two different servers. It merely needs to be ensured that the server software and database can communicate with each other. 1.1 System Requirements The server environment must fulfil the following requirements for the server software and database to run Browser The RMS supports the following web browsers: Microsoft Internet-Explorer, Version 11 or later Mozilla Firefox, Version 40 or later Google Chrome, Version 43 or later 2017 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 5 of 53

2 Create RMS Account This section describes the creation of a new account, the adding of devices and groups, the configuration of alarm functions and the creation of new users and their user rights. 2.1 Create New Company A new company is created by opening the software s registration page. Enter the number of your server in your browser with the following URL extension: 1 Figure 1: RMS registration view for new company Fill in the following points in the input window (Figure 2) including the license key 2 received from Rotronic: Figure 2: Input window for initial RMS registration is to be substituted by the number of your server. 2 If you have a trial key, it is valid for one month ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 6 of 53

Your company account is then created with the following settings: One group (Group1) One user right with all rights One user for the registered person 2.2 Main System Settings You must check the following settings in the menu Tools > Setup > System (see Figure 3): Culture Time zone Temperature Units server settings Figure 3:Select Setup menu Also check all other settings in this view. You can find a description of all system settings in chapter 3.1 System Settings. 2.3 Quick Startup Guide This section describes the most important steps in setting up a Rotronic Monitoring System in brief. 16 3.2 Group Settings Groups can be created, deleted, changed or sorted under Tools > Setup > Groups Create & Edit Groups Create the group structure you want in the menu Tools > Setup > Groups. Figure 7: Group structure in RMS The following functions are available for editing the group structure: Function New Rename Create new group or subgroup. The new group can be placed in the tree by drag & drop. Rename selected group Sort Sort group structure alphabetically (A to Z) Delete Save Delete selected group Save current group structure 3.3 Layout Once the group structure has been created completely, you can then add or remove a background picture (layout) to every group. You can also place so-called labels (texts, measured values, web cam, gateway) in the layout. All labels can be positioned at will by drag & drop. Clicking a label opens a dialog in which the colour and size of the label can be set ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 16 of 53

3.3.1 Functions Select the group you want to edit and add labels and background pictures to it with the following functions. Function Background picture Shows a file dialog for selection of a background picture. The picture should have a width-to-height ratio of about 2:1 so that it is not distorted too much when fitting it in. The maximum file size is limited to 512 kb (adjustable in the web version). Only png and jpg files are supported. Measured value label The values of the measuring points are shown in the layout as labels. The measuring point must, however, first be added to the groups as described in section 3.4. Figure 8: Add measuring points and subsequent display in the layout Text label Adding of a text label for better clarification of the layout Figure 9: Add text label Web camera Adding of a web camera; see section for details. 18 3.3.2 Add Web Camera It is basically very easy to integrate a web camera. Simply enter the link under which the current picture of the camera can be called up. The URL shall refer to a JPG file (Video is not supported) This link is individual for each type of web cam. The link can be found in the manual of the according web cam. For example: Figure 11: Example of web camera integration If the web camera is not directly accessible (local network protected by a firewall), the camera must be integrated via an RMS converter. In this case, specify the RMS converter that is located in the same network as the camera. 3.4 Devices & Measuring Points The RMS distinguishes between devices and measuring points. In RMS the term device means the physical device. The term measuring point in RMS means the data set stored in the database. This is described in section Device Settings Under devices, it is possible to see the various devices within the various groups. Figure 12: Overview of the device selection. With SHIFT or with CTRL, it is possible to select one or more of the devices. With one device selected, it is then possible to replace it, read out device settings, carry out a firmware update (by before importing a firmware file). With more than one device selected, it is then possible to read out all device settings, carry out a firmware update (all selected devices must be the same) ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 18 of 53

Within the Device settings table, it is possible to view the following columns: ID Status Device Name Serial number Position Owner Network ID Address Channel Figure 13: Overview of the device settings table. 42 4.1 Alarm Triggers There are two ways to trigger a measurement alarm: Alarm Type Measuring point alarm Alarm limits (alarm scheme) Two alarm limit types can be entered for every measuring point. Warning (lower / upper limit) Alarm (lower / upper limit) The settings can be made in the menu Tools > Setup > Measuring Points, see also chapter Instead of measuring point alarms, generally valid alarm schemes can be defined. They are applied to the desired measuring points. The settings can be made in the menu Tools > Setup > Alarm Limits, see also chapter Set Notification The user notifications can be defined for every group. The settings apply to the respective group; see group navigation on the left in Figure 22. The settings can be passed down from the higher-level group to the subordinate groups if the check mark is placed (on the right in Figure 22). Figure 22: Overview of notification settings 2017 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 42 of 53

Notifications have the following setting possibilities: Alarm Type Within work hours Outside work hours or public holidays The work hours can be set individually for every day. Work hours User 26 Type Alarm medium Alarm order Which user is to be notified Reminder Warning Alarm Error SMS Telephone call Telephone alarms are given in the order of the users as listed from top to bottom. The top user is called first, and the bottom user last of all. 26 All users who have any right in that group are selectable 2017 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 43 of 53

4.3 Inhibited Alarms Every active alarm can be inhibited for a selectable time span. No notification is emitted in this time. The alarm function is resumed as soon as the inhibit ends and the alarm is still active. Special cases: If an alarm ends during the inhibition, the inhibition remains. A measuring point can also be inhibited even if it is not in the alarm. This can be useful, for example, when carrying out a calibration and no notification shall be triggered during the process. 4.4 Active Alarm The notification is carried out as set as long as an alarm is active and not inhibited: Send Send SMS Telephone call 4.5 Repetition Interval For and SMS, the repetition interval can be set separately for every alarm level. See chapter 3.1 The telephone notification is carried out until the alarm has been inhibited or ended ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 44 of 53

5 Setup This chapter describes all setup functions that have not already been described in chapter 3 System Startup. 5.1 Alarm Limits Alarm limits are schemes that can be used to trigger alarms. They are useful when the same threshold values are to be used for several measuring points or further conditions for triggering of the alarm are to be added. All alarm limits are shown that are visible to the current user on the basis of the group allocation. Unused alarm limits (no measuring point allocated) are shown with a black dot. The following functions are available for creating and editing alarm limits: Function Filter New Delete Save Filter the list of alarm limits on the basis of the entry Add new alarm limit Delete alarm limit Save changes Every alarm limit has the following properties: Property Limit info ID Name Parameter Applicable in Used by Condition Unique number (AS-xxxx) Freely selectable name The unit of the measured value must be specified correctly so that unit conversions by the system are carried out correctly Group in which the alarm limit can be applied Measuring points that use this alarm limit Switch contact or virtual switch to serve as precondition whether the alarm limit is enabled or not. Switch input 2017 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 45 of 53

Time in which the alarm thresholds 1 are enabled. Outside this time the alarm thresholds 2 are enabled. Active time Alarm thresholds 1 / 2 Enabled / Disabled Lower limit Upper limit Hysteresis Delay Action Only enabled alarms are processed in the system Lower limit value Upper limit value Hysteresis Delay for alarm release Action that is to be carried out when the alarm is triggered (see section 5.2 ) 5.2 Actions All actions are shown that are visible to the current user on the basis of the group allocation. Unused actions (no alarm limit allocated) are shown with a block dot. The following functions are available for creating and editing actions: Function Filter New Delete Save Filter the list of actions on the basis of the entry Add new action Delete action Save changes 2017 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 46 of 53

For example: If the web camera is not directly accessible (local network protected by a firewall), the camera must be integrated via an RMS converter. URL of the webcam User name Password Adds the chart of the measuring point as an attachment Time span chart Number of hours shown in the chart 29 Repeat Repeats the in the specified interval (up to 10 times). Repeat sending of the can be ended if the alarm ends or is acknowledged. Switch relay Relays Selection of one or more relays Condition for resetting of the relay Reset Reset after Send data via TCP IP address Data on On Data on Off The relay is reset automatically at the end of this time Recipient address String that is to be sent when the alarm occurs String that is to be sent when the alarm ends 5.3 Scripts Using an IF-THEN script, it is possible to trigger an action on the basis of one or more preconditions. 27 The user must have the right to receive notifications. 28 Not applicable for alarm scripts. 29 Not applicable for alarm scripts ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 47 of 53

All scripts are shown that are visible to the current user on the basis of the group allocation. Unused scripts (not enabled) are shown with a block dot. The following functions are available for creating and editing scripts: Function Filter New Delete Save Filter the list of scripts on the basis of the entry Add new script Delete script Save changes Every script has the following properties: Property Script info ID Name Alarm level Applicable in Enabled Script IF Unique number (SCR-xxx) Freely selectable name Reminder Warning Alarm Error Group in which the script can be applied Enabled / Disabled Preconditions: Condition 1: Measured value / alarm status Comparative operation: Greater than / equal / less than Condition 2: Measured value / constant All preconditions can be linked at will with AND / OR. THEN Action that is to be carried out; see section Validation The functionality of the complete system can be tested for correctness with a validation script. In this way changes and extensions in the system can be validated very easily and tested again at any point in time. By creating new validation script, user shall define the type of the test (for device or for measuring point). This setting cannot be changed later. The following functions are available for creating and editing validations: Function Filter New Filter the list of validations on the basis of the entry Add new validation 2017 ROTRONIC AG Bassersdorf Switzerland Page 48 of 53
