2 02 The SharpEye 40/40I (IR3) Benefits Superior Performance The new SharpEye 40/40I offered by Dräger combines exceptional reliability with tough design and easy handling. Its multi-spectrum setup is based on three IR bands (IR3) and can quickly detect and report fuel and gas fires at considerably long distances. This combined with its high degree of operational flexibility and compatibility with other systems and interfaces makes it ideal for a large number of applications. Immunity To False Alarms With the 40/40I, you can be sure that common sources of unwanted alarms such as hotworks, hot CO 2 emissions and flares reflections are no longer a problem. Plus, its sensitivity selection ensures that there is no zone crossover detection. Tough & Durable As a weather resistant detector currently on the market, the 40/40I is built to effortlessly function under various conditions. Such new features like its heated window effectively eliminate icing and condensation problems. In addition to many other innovative features, the device comes with DNV and MED shipping approval. The SharpEye 40/40 flame detector series is highly reliable and complies with the IEC Safety Integrity Requirements of SIL2. Automatic and manual optics checks (BIT) Automatic checks of the detector electronics and optics increase reliability. Additionally the test can be triggered manually at any time. Easily visible status LED A tri-colored LED which is visible at the front of the detector provides a simple status indication to personnel in close proximity to the detector. Green indicates normal operation; yellow indicates a fault and red indicates the presence of a fire.

The detector is easily installed with a stainless steel tilt mount; enables the detector to be rotated up to 60 in all directions to position the detector in relation to the potential fire source. 4 04 The SharpEye 40/40I (IR3) Accessories Flame Simulator 40/40 - IR3 D The SharpEye IR3 Flame Simulator 40/40 - IR3 is designed specifically for use with SharpEye flame detectors. The Fire Simulator emits IR radiation in a unique sequential pattern corresponding to and recognizable by the detector as fire. This allows the detectors to be tested under simulated fire conditions without the associated risks of an open flame. There is an optional Beam collimator IR3, specially designed for extended test range. Weather cover Flame Detector The weather cover protects the detector from different weather conditions, such as snow and rain. D D SharpEye 40/40 Air Shield The special Air Shield, developed for SharpEye optical flame detectors, allows their installation under tough environmental conditions where they may be exposed to oil vapors, sand, dust and other particulate matter.
