2 Smart Metering at VDE As part of the energy transition and the accompanying legal regulations for improving energy use efficiency, an increasing number of smart meters are being installed so the collected data can be automatically transferred to the energy supply company. Owing to the high data protection requirements and data security, special approval processes must be carried out in the area of smart measuring systems. The VDE Institute offers for this a team of experts and stateoftheart testing equipment. Through our active collaboration in the establishment of standards and guidelines, we are always up to date and can offer our customers fast and valuable impulses and information.
