Batteries have a limited life, a one year warranty, and should be replaced every 3 years. Factors that adversely affect performance include, long conductor runs, additional openings added to the controller, and if completely drained of power the batteries may fully not recharge. Frequent voltage verification is encouraged. This does not apply to stand alone or wireless locks. Their battery life is determined by number of transactions.
