His investigations have involved some of the largest fire losses reported by the National Fire Protection Association. He is a former member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Fire Investigations, which is responsible for the publication of the NFPA 921 Guide for Fire and Explosion Investigations. Mr. Horaist has been conducting fire investigations since During this time he personally participated in or was involved with the supervision of well over 4,500 fire investigations. These investigations include fires and explosions involving multiple fatalities, automobiles, recreational vehicles, heavy equipment, marine vessels, residential and commercial structures, large storage facilities, assembly buildings, and manufacturing plants. He has been involved in multi-million dollar subrogation litigations and liability defense work on behalf of insurers, manufacturers, and corporations. 6
