CPW-322CS is equipped with the dry contact signal input interface, RS485/RS232 interface, TCP/IP interface (optional), compatible with all kinds of access controllers. It is suitable for commercial buildings, subways, airports, customs, exhibition halls, government buildings, financial institutions, clubs and other high-end indoor applications. The product has been strictly tested before leaving the factory. But to ensure the safe and reliable operating of the product, users are recommended to read the manual carefully before operating so as to avoid improper operation and damage to the interests of users. 2. Definitions 2.1 Swing Gate Turnstile The swing gate turnstile consists of housing and two movable flaps. By moving at 90, the flaps can achieve the purpose of stopping or releasing. According to different ways of mechanism combination type, swing gate turnstile can be divided to be single mechanism swing gate turnstile and dual-mechanism swing gate turnstile. Single mechanism swing gate turnstile: only one single mechanism is equipped inside the housing (as shown in Figure 2.1-1). Dual-mechanism swing gate turnstile: dual-mechanism with independent working is equipped inside the housing (as shown in Figure 2.1-2). 1 / 27

5 2.1-1 Single mechanism swing gate turnstile Dual-mechanism swing gate turnstile According to different numbers of passageway, swing gate turnstile can be divided to be single passageway swing gate turnstile and multi-passageway speed gates turnstile. Single passageway swing gate turnstile: it consists of two single mechanism swing gate turnstiles. (as shown in Figure 2.1-3) Multi-passageway swing gate turnstile: it consists of two single mechanism swing gate turnstiles and multiple dual-mechanism swing gate turnstiles (as shown in Figure 2.1-4). Figure Single passageway swing gate turnstile Figure Multi-passageway swing gate turnstile 2.2 Passing Modes Controlled mode: It is the default standby mode of turnstile. When a valid opening signal is given, turnstiles gates open to allow users to pass through. The valid opening signals can be manually open button signal and access control board open signal. Free passing mode: If infrared sensors detect user s entering into passageway, the turnstile will open automatically and allow user go through. Forbidden passing mode: When a valid opening signal is given, the flaps are closed and users are not allowed to pass through. 2 / 27

6 3. Safety Precautions Although a series of testing have been carried out before turnstile leaves the factory and the turnstile can run safely and stably, users should perform proper installation and commissioning strictly in accordance with the operating manual before the turnstile can be put into use. Manufacturers may refuse to take any responsibility for any consequences caused by improper operation or human damage. Before installation, please pay attention to the following safety precautions: Only certified and trained electrical technicians may perform the strong electric 220VAC electrical connections. It is prohibited to install the turnstile without proper mounting foundation. Disconnect the power supply of all external systems (such as access control, visitor management system, ticketing system, etc.) during maintenance work. A main leakage switch or residual current operated devices are compulsory. The electrical wiring operation of turnstile must comply with the attached wiring diagrams. Before the turnstile can be put into use, make sure its functions are tested OK. During maintenance work, the fixing bolt must be checked and tighten. Current carrying components like switching power supply, motor reducer, resistor, lamps, etc. shall not be touched while in operating as the high temperature might cause skin burns. It is forbidden to apply heavy force on the turnstile; otherwise, unnecessary damage may be caused. It is recommended to separate the turnstile with other equipment s power supply interface; otherwise the turnstile might be damaged due to the mutual interference between the equipment. The turnstile is not equipped with explosion-proof design, and it is not allowed to apply the turnstile to an environment with danger of inflammable or explosion. However, it is optional for user to purchase other types for the purpose. 3 / 27

The counter, sound-light alarm device and access control system are optional. 5. The working principle of turnstile system (1) Turn on turnstile system power; the system will perform power on self test; buzzer alarms for prompting. After the alarm, system goes into standby mode; turnstile gate closes; passageway status indicator turns green and direction indicator turns red. (2) User gives a valid opening signal (access control system swiping-card open signal, or turnstile system open button signal) for IN/OUT direction to main control board. (3) After main control board receives a valid opening signal for IN/OUT direction, it sends control signal to sub-panel control board, motor control board, passageway status indicator and direction indicator. The IN/OUT direction indicator will turn from red to green; and OUT/IN 5 / 27

9 passageway status indicator will turn from green to red, then turnstile gate opens to let user pass through. (4) User passes through the turnstile according to direction indicator, and infrared sensors will detect the entire process when user is passing and send user s position signal to main control board. After user finishes passing through, main control board sends control signal to sub-panel control board, motor control board, passageway status indicator and direction indicator, then turnstile gate closes and the system enters into standby mode; passageway status indicator turns green and direction indicator turns red. (5) If user doesn t provide a valid opening signal and then go into the passageway, the system will lock flaps to forbid passing; at the same time, buzzer will alarm until user leaves the passageway. 6. Product installation, inspection and tests 6.1 Product installation (1) Prepare necessary tools for installing turnstile and choose the auxiliary parts according to packing list. (2) Confirm the system constitution and operating mode. Get ready to install after finishing system planning. (3) Drill holes after confirming the positions.
