2 Preface Thank you for choosing our gas detector head GD-70D-ET. This manual explains how to use the gas detector GD-70D-ET. Not only the first-time users but also the user who have already used a GD-70D-ET must read and understand the operating manual before using this product. Throughout this manual, the following indications are used to ensure safe and effective work. 6 1-2. Setting How to set an IP address of GD-70D-ET Turn ON the power switch of GD-70D-ET. Set the IP address and the Subnet mask by pressing keys on the front panel. (Writing the IP address takes approximately 10 seconds, then display shows [SET18/ ETHERNET] ) 11 Press the MODE key for three seconds to return to the detection mode. 2

7 How to set an IP address of PC Set IP address in Propety of Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). Set IP address and the Subnet mask (A figure below is an sample screen of Windows7.) 3

8 Communication test Input as follows in Command Prompt of Windows. ping [Enter] <Screen shows communication test is succeeded> <Screen shows communication test is failed> Confirm the installment and the setting if communication test is failed. Display of GD-70D-ET shows (TX)/(RX) during data transmission/data reception. 4

9 1-3. Web functions How to set a browser Enter to [Internet options] and move to [connections] tab, and click [LAN settings]. Uncheck [Use a proxy server for your LAN] in case of being checked. 5

10 How to login to User Mode Input to [Address] in Internet explorer as follows, and click [Move]. In User Mode, basic information (gas name and alarm points etc) is displayed. (Screen is varied depending on the version of Internet explorer and the settings) Refer to 2. Web functions for the details. 6

11 How to login to Authorized User Mode Input to [Address] in Internet explorer as follows, and click [Move]. Screen below is displayed. Input GD-70D to the default password and click [Login] In Authorized User Mode, detail information of GD-70D is displayed, and the settings are alterable. 7

13 Communication with PLC (OMRON CJ / CS series) Click [Network], located the left side of Authorized User Web screen, and set the right side of Authorized User Web screen as below. Write Basic Data (Small) to 0 address in D memory of PLC (IP address , NODE10 and FINS/UDP port 9600). Refer to 4. PLC communication functions for the details. Screen below shows how data is written to D memory. (Increment of D2 counter is carried out) (CX-Programmer PLC memory screen) Refer to PLC operation manuals for PLC settings. CAUTION There is a possibility that wrong setting for rewriting PLC memory causes unexpected PLC action. Be sure setting is correct. 9

15 Communication with PLC (MELSEC Q series) Click [Network], located the left side of Authorized User Web screen, and set the right side of Authorized User Web screen as below. Write basic data (Small) to 0 address in D memory of PLC (IP address , UDP port 5000). Refer to 4. PLC communication functions for the details. Screen below shows how data is written to D memory (Increment of D2 counter is carried out) (GX-Developer memory devices screen) Refer to PLC operation manuals for PLC settings. CAUTION There is a possibility that wrong setting for rewriting PLC memory causes unexpected PLC action. Be sure setting is correct. 11

16 2. Web functions 2-1. Cautions for usage environment Web functions shall be used with Microsoft Internet Explorer6~8. There is a possibility that browsers other than Microsoft Internet Explorer6~8 cause unexpected action. Set [Active scripting] to be enable. (Web functions are based on browser script.) 12

17 Confirm proxy server settings (Windows7 Internet Explorer 8) [Internet options] [Connections] tab [LAN settings] [Local area network (LAN) settings] There is no Check for [Use a proxy server for your LAN], Web functions can be used without any alterations. There is a Check for [Use a proxy server for your LAN], check to [Bypass proxy server for local addresses]. [Proxy settings] is displayed in [Advanced]. CAUTION Above settings are valid if GD-70D-ET is used with local address only. Web functions are invalid if GD-70D-ET is used via proxy server. Write IP address of GD-70D-ET to [Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with:] in [Exceptions] As settings are altered by GD-70D-ET operation, screen is displayed again and [Date is updated] is displayed at the end of the maintenance mode. GD-70D-ET records login histories whenever Authorized user is login, and recorded histories are automatically deleted when GD-70D-ET is turned OFF the power. (Error is displayed as the result of non-displayed screen is displayed, which is the situation that browser is opened and GD-70D-ET is turned from OFF to ON the power. Close browser and login again to reset the error.) Do not alter settings at the same time by Web functions and GD-70D-ET operation. 13

26 CALIBRATION Zero Calibration screen (Authorized User) Screen for Zero Calibration CAUTION To perform the Gas Calibration adequately, read the GD-70D series operating manual and follow the procedures. We provide services on regular maintenance including span adjustment, adjustment and maintenance. To make the calibration gas, dedicated tools, such as a gas cylinder of the specified concentration and gas sampling bag must be used. Our qualified service engineers have expertise and knowledge on the dedicated tools used for services, along with other products. To maintain the safety operation of the gas detector, please use our maintenance service. Please contact our sales department or agents for more information. 22

27 Span Calibration screen (Authorized User) Screen for Span Calibration CAUTION To perform adequate Gas Calibration, read the GD-70D series operating manual and follow the procedures. We provide services on regular maintenance including span adjustment, adjustment and maintenance. To make the calibration gas, dedicated tools, such as a gas cylinder of the specified concentration and gas sampling bag must be used. Our qualified service engineers have expertise and knowledge on the dedicated tools used for services, along with other products. 28 TEST Alarm Test screen (Authorized User) Screen for Alarm Test CAUTION Before starting the alarm test, provide a notification to the related sections so that they can prepare for false abnormalities. (The alarm contacts are activated during the alarm test.) 24

Time synchronization function is to be activated, the time adjustment is automatically excuted at the execution time by receiving the information from NTP server. (The time delay caused by communicating with NTP server is not corrected.) Update input setting on GD-70D-ET by clicking [Update]. Refer to 2-4. Auto mailing function (gas alarm / fault alarm) for the details. 27

Auto mailing function (gas alarm / fault alarm) AUTHORIZED USERS Network screen (Authorized User) Auto mailing function provides mail notification, which contains gas alarm and fault alarm, to registered address from GD-70D-ET. Register an address of mail sender. Message is sent to maximum 10 addresses. (Message is sent to all registered addresses at the same time.) 30

Commands, subcommand, Parameters (If needed) shall be excuted by a query. If command only is written, functions shall be excuted by subcommands and parameters that are already written. CAUTION If improper commands other than those above are written, exceptional response is not sent. If the results of command execution are failure, exceptional response is not sent ModbusTCP response is sent when writing is success or failure. To distinguish between success and failure of the command execution processing, make judgement from the results of status or concentration value after commands are executed. 37
