15 OCS Journey to CERT 2014 OCS was tasked to set up a CERT (Rapid Response Team) response in NUS Choose between In-housed CERT, Contractors, Hybrid Models June 2015, OCS operationalize Rapid Response Team (RRT) for after office response August 2015, OCS runs RRT 24/7 15

16 OCS RRT Set Up 4 teams of 2 officers per shift / based on 8 hour shift Stationed at Security Posts and zones with higher risk laboratories Officers are required to undergo stringent medical screening 3 days CERT training, 1 week Orientation Training, 3 days OJT Class 2B, Fire fighting experience, PLRD License 16

18 Incident Control/CERT Support RRT Officers are supported by 2 RRT Support Officers from Campus Patrol Team (CPT) The RRT Support Officers are also trained in Mechanical Methods of Entry (MMOE) 18

23 Standby Mode/Patrol/Alarms RRT operates as Security Officer during non- incident Standby in half-uniform 5 minutes response to incident sites within deployment area and 10 minutes to NUS Campus-Wide RRT provides first response to any fire alarm in their sector 23

26 OSHE Office of Safety, Health and Environment In charge of occupational safety and health matters, environmental compliance and emergency management in NUS Reviews hazards and risks Manages major crisis incidents Authority on safety regulations in NUS Laboratories Conducts CPR and AED training Promotes health and well-being of staff and students Partner OCS in RRT and Fire Safety 26

27 SCDF- DOVER/CLEMENTI For Kent Ridge Campus, OCS CPT will rendezvous with SCDF at NUS Entrance A For University Town, OCS will rendezvous with SCDF at Stephen Riady Centre FCC Average 4 mins response to University Town, 8 mins to KRC Special arrangement to meet up SCDF responses by CPT 27

28 HAZMAT Currently Hazmat are done by Office of Facilities Management (OFM) Chemical fires are only tackled from a distance OCS role for Hazmat is to setup perimeter cordon and rendezvous with SDCF 28
