4 SPEAKERS Curt Graber has 30 years of experience in design and prototyping of a wide variety of acoustic products. Mr. Graber has been intimately involved with all aspects of the design, development and production of the novel HyperSpike line of products that are currently in full production and sold to a worldwide client base including Commercial, Life safety and Military application uses. Mr. Graber headed the team that designed and produced the HS- 60 HyperSpike which has been acknowledged by Guinness Book of World Records as the loudest electro-acoustic speaker in the world (awarded 2008), the NASA/Gulfstream Aerospace SASS II program (Sonic Boom Simulator) and others. Mr. Graber was named with a team from Ultra Electronics as the 2014 Northrop Grumman Supplier of the year for Research and Development for a program in advanced acoustics. Mr. Graber is the founder of a National systems integration company with more than 500 successful projects covering 42 states including venues from ,000 seats Mr. Graber has 43 US patents issued and 18 patents pending for advanced acoustic and electro-magnetic relevant technologies. Michael Liley, has been a member of the CFAA since He is a project manager at Tyco Integrated Fire and Security currently working on fire alarm projects big and small in Southern Alberta. A graduate of Seneca College s Fire Protection Engineering Technology program, he has experience in many facets of fire protection equipment including portable fire extinguishers, automatic fire sprinkler systems, clean agent / special hazard suppression systems and fire alarm systems throughout his 13 year career. Dennis Friedel, Captain Fire Prevention, City of Edmonton Fire Rescue Services. Dennis has over 25 years of experience working in the fire industry, 17 with the City of Edmonton. He conducts inspections, assists in code research, conducts lectures, and works with clients to help them understand the code and ways to comply with the code.

5 Al Bastien, is a leader in the field of life safety education. Having started in the fire alarm industry over twenty years ago as a technician, he continued to expand his skills and knowledge in the industry taking on roles in the sales of preventative maintenance and service agreements, large systems sales, project management, senior technician, technical support, service branch management and life safety consulting. He is an active member of the Canadian Fire Alarm Association serving on both the Ontario Chapter Executive and the National Education Committee. He has instructed the CFAA Fire Alarm Technician Program at St. Clair College of Applied Technology in the Continuing Education and continues to be a consultant in the field. Steve Maudsley has 37 years of Fire Alarm Life Safety experience. Steve was a founding Director of the CFAA Alberta Chapter. He has a strong passion for the industry and believes education is key to bringing betterment to the life safety industry. Steve looks forward to sharing information on the new ABC Commissioning requirements. Mark Wilson, started his career as an electrician spending 8 years working on various systems. In 2011 he received a Fire Systems Engineering Tech. diploma as well as becoming a Registered CFAA Technician. Currently Mark works for Chubb Edwards where he has held various positions within CE including technician, group leader to his present role as Operations Service Manager in Edmonton. Kevan Jess is concurrently the Chief Fire Administrator and the Manager of Flood Recovery for the Public Safety Division of Alberta Municipal Affairs. With over 35 years experience in emergency operations, code compliance and training across Western Canada Kevan has worked as a Fire Service Advisor, Inspector and Investigator and Assistant Fire Commissioner for Alberta Municipal Affairs and Operations Manager for the Alberta Emergency Management Agency.He holds most NFPA and Safety Codes Council certifications in fire and emergency services including those of Fire Inspector and Fire Investigator. He currently sits on ULC s S500F Fire Alarm and Detection Systems and S500B Fire Department Equipment committees and a number of national code development committees and working groups.
