5 Introduction: Chapter 1: Introduction Nowadays, homeowners want much more than a monitored security system. They prefer an alert system. This wireless alarm kit offers an innovative all-in-one solution with all aspects of security and connectivity covering a full range of wireless accessories. The aim of this section is to acquaint you with the various circuit boards that make up the system. 3.1 Main Board Chapter 3: Hardware Layout The main board is the brain of the system. It includes all interfaces for devices, such as wired zones, wired siren, PGM output, AUX power output, built-in siren, external siren and telephone interface. Activating periodic supervision for accessories, it ensures system safety. Featuring PSTN, GSM dialing or SMS send optional, it offers multiple performance options and the flexibility. With upload and download software, you can load the data and remote program the system. It meets different ranges of demand to personal phones or central station by easy programming and simple menu-operation with voice guide. 6 3.2 Power Supply Board It supplies power for main board and GSM module. If only with battery, the wired siren can not be driven. 3.3 GSM Module It enables the system to support GSM or SMS alarm. SIM card must be inserted with both AC and DC 4.1 Pre-installation Planning Before starting the installation procedure, it is worthwhile to draw a rough sketch of the building and determine the required position for the control panel and each wireless device. When deciding on the placement for installation, consider the following: 1. Mount the control panel in a location with easy access to telephone and power connections. 2. The control panel should be mounted in a position where the GSM signal is strong. 3. Refer to the following section in order to choose the optimal location for wireless devices in relation to the control panel. 4.2 Wireless Installation Guidelines Chapter 4: System Installation In order to optimize wireless communication, consider the following guidelines: 1. Whenever possible, mount the panel centrally in relation to wireless sensors. 2. Avoid installation in close proximity to sources of high noise or radio frequency interference, for example, air conditioner, heater or circuit breaker boxes. 3. Minimize the distance between the panel and transmitters. 4. Minimize the number of obstacles between the panel and transmitters. 5. Metal based construction materials, such as steel reinforced concrete walls, will reduce the range of radio transmissions. The AC power and battery must be cutoff for safe operation. Steps: 1. Plug the AC power adaptor and battery flat-cable. 2. Push off the SIM buckle lightly, see Figure Insert the SIM card. 4. Lock it. Figure -5- The reduction of the RF signals strength is directly proportional to the thickness of the obstacle, assuming that the obstacles are of identical material. 4.3 Installation Procedure After unpacking the kit and making sure that you have all the necessary equipments, it is recommended that you install the system as following: Step 1: Open the housing. Step 2: Make sure power is cut off, and insert the SIM card. Step 3: Connect external devices. Step 4: Power the control panel. Step 5: Register the transmitters(wireless detector, magnetic switch, siren and keyfobs, etc. Step 6: Test the communication signal of chosen mounting location.. Step 7: Permanently install the control panel and transmitters Open the Housing Figure Exter nal Devices Connection Open the housing, press the control panel buckle lightly to open it. 1. Wired Siren Connection The max drive of BELL terminal is 400mA/12VDC. Connect the bell power line to BELL and GND. The siren will beep once after powering on. You can try to program via keypad to set if the siren beeps and how Figure -6- : The wired siren is invalid with only backup battery on

8 2. AUX Power Output Terminal AUX supplies power output for wired detectors(ac Operated: 10-12V, Battery Operated: 6-8V, max current: 100mA. It may cause abnormal working for wired detector under low battery). For N/C detector: N/C detector For N/O detector: 3. Telephone Line Connection Connect the telephone line to the telephone line terminal block LINE_IN on the main board. And connect the telephone or fax machine to the telephone line terminal block LINE_OUT. Connect the AC power adaptor and plug the backup battery. The control panel can not be initialized by only battery. Parameters of power adaptor: Input: 100V-240VAC 50/60HZ 0.5A, Output: 12VDC 1.5A. Backup battery: 7.2V 1800mAh NimH rechargeable, 24hours is required for full recharge which can last around 8 hours for this system under standby situation. After low battery warning, it can work for around 30 minutes. The system will keep the time and date with time chirp powered. If the power of time chirp runs out, you need to re-set the time manually. See the Figure: 1. Set Date 0 1 / 0 1 / Set Time 0 0 : PGM Connection The max load of PGM output is DC50V/500mA. Boolean value is output with PGM connected with GND of main board. Figure -8- After powering up and initialization, it beeps shortly and requires to input time and date. The icon will move to next automatically after each input. Press * to exit. After complete input, press # to confirm. If the input is not finished, and meanwhile * is pressed, it will display on the LCD Invalid Set. Please press * to re-input it. With GSM module connected, time will set by itself by searching the network, which may take 1-2 minutes. 5. Wired Devices Connection The system supports different kinds of wired detectors with EOL resistance. Please connect as following: AC power must be connected for initialization. Or else it can not be initialized with just backup battery

9 4.3.5 Register Transmitters Transmitters refer to wireless devices such as detector, magnetic switch, siren and keyfob, etc. Only after enrolling can transmitters be recognized by the control panel. To register a device: 1. During disarm, press PROG. With voice guide Enter password before setting parameters!. Input the installer code with #. 2. For specific register process, pls refer to WL. Register, Keyfob Register and WL. Siren Reg.. At first, stick Installing Hole Drawing on the location for control panel. Drive 4 screws on the fixed position (see Figure 11-1), and then hang the control panel directly on the screws(see Figure 11-2). While driving the screws, please pay strict attention to the depth of screws to make sure easy hang and tamper switch work normally. There are 2 tamper switches: front tamper and rear tamper. Compress the tamper switch while installing. If the control panel is removed or opened, tamper alarm will be triggered. Installing Hole Drawing Please take off the battery before enrolling, and then enroll one by one with battery connected. While you register with battery on for all devices, there may come wireless signal interference and make enroll fail Testing the Chosen Mounting Location Once all of the transmitters are registered, it is recommended that you test the chosen mounting locations before permanently mounting the control panel and wireless devices. You can test the transmitter signal strength using the TX Test feature. To test wireless transmitters: 1. During disarm, press PROG, with voice guide Enter password before setting parameters!. Input the installer code with # to enter. 2. Select Service WL. Test #. 3. Trigger the desired devices, and the info about them will display on the LCD. 4. After all test, press * to exit. Test GSM Signal: The communication signal strength should be tested to confirm if GSM module is connected. To test the GSM signal: 1. During disarm, press PROG with voice guide Enter password before setting parameters!. Input the installer code with # to enter. 2. Select Service # GSM Test # means for the signal strength. 31 means the strongest. To make sure normal communication, please use over 12. # Wall Figure Figure While hanging the control panel, please don t shake the product to avoid breaking the tamper switch. 5.1 Front Panel Layout AWAY STAY DISARM Wall Chapter 5: Operations PROG Installing the Control Panel Having chosen and tested the mounting location of the control panel and each transmitter, you are now ready to permanently install the system. 10 5.1.1 Status LED Power LED: Red means AC loss or low battery. Green means normal. Arm LED: Red means armed. Green means disarm. Alarm LED: Red means alarm. Slow flash means dialing the CMS. 11 Alarm Display: The alarm will display with voice guide in the alarm List. Press the navigation key to select with # to query the event. If there are multiple alarm events, press the navigation key directly to check other events. Press * to quit Alarm List Alarm Untreated Zone 17 Panic Untreated Zone: 17 Zone 21 En/Ex. Untreated Type: Panic Zone 22 Peri. Untreated Time: 1 2 / 1 2 / : Alarm Type and Way There are two alarm type: instant alarm and delay alarm. Trigger 24-hour zones, instant alarm will occur. 24-hour zones include: fire zone, gas zone, panic zone, duress zone, and tamper zone. : For 24-hour zone, whether it is armed or disarmed, once triggered, it will alarm immediately. Alarm delay occurs with voice indication as Alarm, please disarm! when the entry delay zone is triggered. Before the music ends, please disarm, and the alarm message will not be sent to CMS center. Or if you disarm after the music, the message will be sent. Entry delay happens for entry/exit zone and active zone only. The voice guide will last for 10minutes without any operation. During disarm, after the voice finishes, any operation will trigger the voice replay. If disarm by also clearing the alarm list, the event will disappear. If disarm by saving alarm list, then the event will change into Treated. For specific operation, please refer to For entry/exit zone, only during arm away and arm stay will the zone be triggered with alarm delay. 2. For active zone, only during arm away will the zone be triggered with alarm delay. 3. When alarm already happens in the zone, and with this zone triggered again, the panel will alarm immediately with no indication of entry delay Alarm List Zone 17 Panic Treated Zone 21 En/Ex. 12 5.4 Keypad Lock and Unlock If the code is input wrong, the voice will guide Wrong code, please re-input! and the LCD displays as: Wrong code, Input again: Code Type Arm&disarm Enter PROG Code Set PROG in main menu Editable Clearable User code 2 User code 3 User code 4 Remark: 1Enter PROG by master code, you can set all codes except installer code. 2Enter PROG by installer code, you can only set installer code. After the code is locked, when you program any that requires code, the voice will guide Access locked, please try later! 5.6 System Trouble Quer y The voice will guide System trouble, please check! and it will display System Trb. on LCD. You can press the key of to enter the trouble list, and then press the navigation key of or to check. If the trouble is solved, it will disappear out of the list. If no operation within 1 minute, it will quit automatically. Keypad Locked, Auto-release in 30min! Code locked, try later! Arm Away 2 0 / 1 2 / System Trb. If the code is locked when there is no alarm, but alarm occurs after the code lock, the system will auto release the code. While if the code is locked after alarm, auto release must be available after system reintialization, or within 30 minutes. 5.5 Codes Access System trouble includes: AC loss, low battery, telephone line loss, time unset, GSM unconnected, low GSM signal, no SIM card, communication failure, wireless and wired zone trouble. Wireless zone trouble includes low battery and supervision failure. Trouble for wired zones means it is triggered but with no alarm. Communication failure includes failure with CMS, SMS send and GSM dialing, The reason may be low balance for SIM card. If the function of Zone Trb. Indication is turned on, when any trouble of above occurs, it will tell which zone is troubled in system. For detailed query, press # as following: There are 5 types of codes: master code, installer code, duress code, temporary code, and user code(4). Different authorization are appointed for different codes. There are 22 zones: zone 1-16 is for wireless. Zone 17 is for panic. Zone 18 is for duress. Zone 19 is for fire. Zone is wired. Zone 20 is for tamper. Different zone type alarms in different ways. Tamper alarm is valid with 24 hours for wireless zone with tamper alarm indication. 6.3 Chime Zone It enables the panel with alarm with entry delay during arm, or issue Welcome to intelligent alarm system! under disarm. : The chime zone function only works for entry/exit zone

14 7.1 Arm/Disarm via Keypad or Keyfob Chapter 7: Ar m/disar m Operation You can arm away, arm stay, disarm or panic help via keypad or keyfob. If CMS is connected with message send, and info except zone alarm is set to send, any operation like arm and disarm will be reported to CMS. Arm Away 2 0/ 1 2 / : If during zone alarm, press Arm away on keypad or keyfob, the voice will guide Disarm before arm! Disarm Arm-away Alarm! Arm Failed! Disarm before Arm! Arm-stay Panic 3. If under arm situation, press Arm away on keypad or keyfob, the voice will guide Armed away! When the system is under disarm, press the button of Arm away on panel or keyfob, the status LED turns from Green into Red with the voice guide Arm away, close door and window, exit delay starts with the music, the LCD display as following: Exit Delaying: s Arm Stay It enables the system not to alarm in active zone but alarm in other zones. 1. If under disarm, press Arm stay on keypad or keyfob, the status LED turns from Green into Red, the voice will guide Arm stay with LCD as following: Arm Stay 2 0 / 1 2 / : 3 0 When the exit delay ends, the voice guide will sound Armed away!

15 2. If under arm away, and with no alarm, press Arm stay on keypad, the voice will guide Enter password before setting parameters! You can enter arm stay status with code input or direct keyfob operation. 3. If under zone alarm, press Arm stay on keypad or keyfob, the voice will guide Disarm before arm! Alarm! Arm Failed! Disarm before Arm! 7.2 Arm/Disarm via Phone It enables you to arm or disarm via telephone(dtmf). For details, pls refer to 9.1 Telecontrol via Phone. 7.3 Arm/Disarm via SMS With GSM module connected, it enables you to arm or disarm, or query system status via SMS. The system will respond with a message once receiving a query. For details, pls refer to 9.3. Telecontrol via SMS. 7.4 Trigger Alarm via Keypad 4. If under arm stay, press Arm stay on keypad or keyfob, the voice will guide Arm stayed Disar m Press Disarm on keypad or keyfob, the voice will guide Enter password, add 0 to delete the event log. : Clear alarm list, code with 0 Input code: It enables you to trigger alarm via keypad or keyfob under emergency. Trigger panic alarm: Press PROG on keypad or Panic on keyfob for 2s (See Figure 14). STAY DISARM PROG 1. Disarm with alarm status cleared: Input the code(except installer code) ending with 0, and #, the arm LED turns from Red to Green with the voice guide Disarmed, alarm log eliminated! Disarm with alarm status saved: Input the code(except installer code) ending with just #, the arm LED turns from Red to Green, with voice guide Disarmed! : If to arm by keyfob, the alarm status will be saved. 16 8.1 Access Programming Chapter 8: Programming 1. During disarm, press PROG on keypad, and the voice will remind to input code, Enter pass -word before setting parameters! Enter Menu, input code: 2. Input master code or installer code to enter main menu as following: Menu 1. Cancel Alarm 2. Stop. Comm. 3. Code Set 4. Zone Bypass 5. Phone Set 6. Event Log 3. Press the navigation key to select what you desire to set and confirm with #, or press * to exit. 1. Programming option is only available with installer code. 2. means selected, means unselected. 3. During programming, the zone will not alarm when it is triggered 8.2 Quit Programming Press * to quit programming to previous menu. Or it will return to previous automatically with no operation within 1 minute. 8.3 Programming Cancel Alarm With faulty operation or unexpected alarm occurs, user can Cancel Alarm in the menu. Thus the panel will issue a event cancel to CMS. To cancel alarm: 1. From the menu, select Cancel Alarm #. 2. The LCD will remind Cancel Alarm?. 3. Press * to return or # for confirm Stop Communication Through this operation, all communication buffers are cleared and all pending messages are cancelled. To stop communication: 1. From the menu, select Stop. Comm. #. 2. The LCD will remind you if to stop or not, press * to cancel the operation, or # to stop it Code Set Code is available as 4-6 digits. If the code is set 5 or 6 digits, the last one can not be 0. The code must be different. Master Code Set: The master code is the highest authorization level. User Code Set The user code enables you to arm or disarm only by user code. To set user code: 1. From the menu, select Code Set # User Code 1 # Edit Code #. 2. If any user code is set before, press * to display former one, then press # to input new code. Or if no user code is set before, input directly. 3. Input new user code # re-nput new code. 4. Duress Code Set While you disarm with duress code, it will indicate Disarm on site but will dial or send alarm info. To set duress code: 1. From the menu, select Code Set # Duress Code # 2. Input new code # re- input new code for confirm. 3. Press # to confirm, or press * to quit Zone Bypass When a zone is bypassed, it is ignored by the system and does not generate an alarm when triggered. It enables you to bypass one zone or more zones, or all zones. To bypass one by one 1. From the menu, select Zone Bypass #. 2. Select Bypass one by one #. 3. Press the navigation key to select the zone number, ending with #. 4. And the select ON or OFF, ending with #. 5. Press * to quit

Bypass functions work for wireless zone 1 to 16, 21, 22, 30 and panic 17, and is not applicable for other zones. 2. During duress alarm, the panel will not dial voice phone 1 and 2 but only dials voice phone 3, Phone Set Telephone setting can be personal phone for voice or for SMS. The system will dial the phone or send SMS when alarm occurs. Voice Phone Set It enables you to edit or delete the number you set before. To set voice phone: 1. Bypass one by one 1. WL. Zone 1 OFF 2. WL. Zone 2 OFF 3. WL. Zone 3 OFF 2. WL. Zone 2 ON OFF and CMS. So it is not to suggest to set voice phone 3 and 4 as personal numbers. 1. From the menu, select Phone Set # Voice Phone Set #. 2. Select one telephone group number, press # to set. 3. If any phone is set before, it will display. Press # to edit. If no phone is set before, input directly. 4. Voice Phone 3 4. Voice Phone 4 2. Voice Phone 2 1. Phone NO. 2. Interface PSTN Voice Phone Interface Set It enables you to select PSTN or GSM as dialling way. To set voice phone interface: 1. From the main menu, select Phone Set # Voice Phone Set #. 2. Select the telephone group number, press # to enter. 3. Select the communication interface(pstn or GSM) ending with #. 4. Press * to quit. SMS Phone Set Same as voice phone set. SMS option You can select if SMS message will be sent or not for alarm, arm or disarm to save SMS cost. To set SMS phone: When the telephone line loses, it will transfer into GSM dialling automatically. 1. From the menu, select Phone set # SMS option #. 2. Select parameters you desire to set ending with #. 3. Select ON or OFF Event Log This system can save 255 event log, including alarm and operation issues. When it exceeds 255, it will substitute the earliest event. To query event: 1. From the menu, select Event Log, press # to enter. The earliest event will display. 2. Press the navigation key or to query. 3. Press * to quite when finished. 19 8.3.7 Ser vice Option Set Time/Date Time and date must be set, or else the event log will be recorded with no time, arm or disarm may not be realized, or system trouble will happen, voice guide will not work. To set time and date: 1. From the menu, select Service # Set Time/Date #. 2. Input time and date, ending with #. 3. During input, press * to quit. When finished, press # to confirm. Or if the time is not input completely, but with # ending. It will indicate Invalid set! Then pres * to re-input. Auto Arm/Disarm Time It enables you to set auto arm/disarm time which is set in 24hr system. Before this, the function of auto arm /disarm must be turned on. To set auto arm/disarm time: 1. From the menu, select Service # Auto Arm/Dis., then select one group of auto time, ending with #. : Time and date must be set, or else the event log will be recorded with no time. 2 Select Arm Time or Disarm Time, press # to enter, input time, and press # to save. Press * to quit when finsihed. 4. Auto ON/OFF ON OFF Siren Test Siren test is strongly recommended periodically for safety, which includes wired siren, wireless siren and built-in siren. To test siren: 1. From the menu, select Service #. 2. Press the navigation key to select Siren Test #. 3. Select the type of siren ending with # to test. 4. After test, press # to continue another test. Or * to finish. Walk Test It enables you to make sure if the detectors work normally, which is strongly recommended to do periodically. To set walk test: 1. From the menu, select Service # Walk Test #. All registered detectors will display on LCD with the voice guide as Walk test starts, transmit wireless signal! 2. Once the correspondent signal is transmitted, the detector display will disappear on LCD. If it will not disappear, it indicates trouble occurs. 3. When all detectors disappear out of LCD, the voice will guide Walk test over! meanwhile with No device! indicating on LCD 4. Press * to quit when test is finished. Walk Testing, 1. WL. Zone 1 2. WL. Zone 2 3. WL. Zone 3 4. WL. Zone 4 XXXs Walk test over, No Device! XXXs Time and date must be set, or else the auto arm or disarm function will be recorded with no time.when GSM module is disconnected, with no time set, auto arm/diarm function may be not available. : The longest period for walk test is 600s. Press * to quit after finish. Siren Call Back With this function, the siren will beep when you arm or disarm to remind operation success. To set siren call back: 1. 20 WL. Zone 3 Type: Entry/Exit Activate Siren Low Battery TX Loss Keyfob 1 Low Battery Version It enables you to query the version of the control panel. To query the version of panel: 1. From the menu, select Service # Version #. 2. The panel version will display. Press * to quit. TX test is to test and identify wireless signal. With signal received from registered transmitter, it will display info of it, including ID. With signal received from unregistered transmitter, it will indicate as unknown signal. To text TX: 1. From the menu, select Service # Transmitter # TX test #. 2. The voice will guide Transmitter test starts, transmit wireless signal! 3. Trigger the transmitter, If it is registered, the info will display on LCD. If it isn t registered, it will indicate as unknown signal. 4. Press * to quit after test finish Programming Set Device For the system to recognize individual devices, each device must be registered. For example, if the device is a wireless transmitter, registration enables the system to identify the source of a received transmission. Each device has an individual encrypted ID code. Registering the device to the system familiarizes the system with this code. GSM Test To ensure the validity of GSM communication, please test the signal network at the installing position. To test GSM signal: From the menu, select Service # GSM # GSM Test #. 7. GSM Test No Signal! WL. Register There are two ways of register: by code learn or input. To register by code learn: 1. Select Programming # Device # Zone WL. Register # By Code Learn. 2. Select the zone number ending with #. If registered before, it will remind you to re-register. Press # to continue, or * to quit. If not registered before, the voice will remind Start enrolling, transmit now! with counting down for 60s. 3. Trigger the wireless asap to avoid any interference. 4. The system will remind to save after receiving the signal. Press # to save, or * to re-register. : Signal strength: 0-31, 31means the strongest. To make sure the normal communication, please confirm it is over 12. During register, if the signal is received for registered code, it will indicate as registered. If the code is in wrong format, it will indicate as wrong. If no code is received within 60s, the system indicate Enrolling failed! Volume Set It enables you to activate or mute the siren and meanwhile adjust the volume. If the siren volume is closed, the speaker volume will be the lowest. To set volume: 1. Then press the navigation key to select ON or OFF ending with #. 4. Press to exit. * Clear WL This enables you to remove the wireless devices by clearance. For the supervision function. If the device is removed without clearance, the system will alarm for device loss. To clear WL: 1. Select Programming # Device # Zone # Clear WL. #, select Clear Single or Clear All. 2. If Clear Single, select the zone number ending with #. While Clear all means to clear all enrolled wireless transmitters. Zone Type For specific zone type definition, please refer to 6.1. To set zone type: 1. From the main menu, select Programming # Device # Zone # Set Zone Type #. 2. Zone Siren Function It enables the ser to active or mute external siren for some zone. Active enables the siren to buzzer during u alarm, while Mute enables the siren dummy. From the main menu, select Programming # Device # Zone # Zone Siren Set #.. Keyfob Register Same as wireless zones, please refer to that. Clear Keyfob Same as wireless zones, please refer to that. Wireless Siren Register Same as wireless zones, please refer to that. Delete Wireless Siren Same as wireless zones, please refer to that. Activate/Mute Siren It enables the siren(built-in siren, external wired siren or wireless siren) to be on or off. To activate or mute siren: 1. From the main menu, select Programming # Device # Siren # Activate/Mute #. 2. Press the navigation key to select the siren type: Built-in Siren, Wired Siren, or Wireless Siren ending with #. 3. Then press the navigation key to select ON or OFF. 4. Press * to exit. Siren Cut-off Siren cut-off is the period of time the sirens are activated after an alarm has occurred, which can be set from 0 to 30 minutes

Wireless Zone Supervision Wireless devices will transmit supervision signal to the control panel at intervals. If the system does not receive any signal, then the transmitter is regarded as loss. The max loss period is called supervision time. If no signal is transmitted during this period, wireless zone trouble appears in the list of system trouble. To set wireless zone supervision: 1. From the main menu, select Programming # Device # WL. Superv. # SV ON/OFF #. 2. Press the navigation key to select ON or OFF ending with #. And then set the supervision time. 3. Press # to confirm and then * to exit Communication CMS Phone Set CMS(Central Monitor Station) is used for event upload through phone network, including alarm, arm & disarm, system trouble and service event log, etc., of which the phone number can be edited or deleted. To set CMS phone: 1. From the main menu, select Programming # Comm. # Comm. Account #. 2. Press the navigation key to select CMS 1 or CMS 2 ending with #. 3. Then press the navigation key to select Phone NO. to enter with #. 4. If any phone number is set already, it will display on the LCD. Press # to input with the icon flash. If no phone number is set before, input directly. 5. The phone number is 16 digits utmost ending with #. Press * to delete former digit or edit it. Press # to confirm. If press # directly, the former phone number will be deleted. CMS Event Option The options are: send for alarm, send for arm & disarm, send for system trouble, send for service info. If the function of Send for Alarm is closed, the alarm info will not be sent to CMS. If the function of Send for Arm/Disarm is closed, the arm or disarm operation will not be sent to CMS and cancel alarm is invalid. If the function of Send for Trb. is closed, the trouble info will not be sent. If the function of Send for service is closed, the trouble info will not be sent during enter ir quit programming or zone bypass. It will send all event as default. To send for alarm: 1. SMS Event Option Voice Phone Interface Set SMS center event option includes: send for alarm, send for arm & disarm, send for system trouble, send for service info. If Send for Alarm is closed, the alarm info will not be sent to CMS. If the function of Send for Arm/Disarm is closed, the arm or disarm operation will not be sent. If the function of Send for Trb. is closed, the trouble info will not be sent.
