3 1 INTRODUCTION This guide is written for users of the IndigoVision Alarm Panel. It provides installation and configuration information for the device, and a description of the hardware and specifications. Please ensure you read the instructions provided in the guide before using the device. 4 2 HARDWARE DESCRIPTION The Alarm Panel allows you to connect a system of environmental sensors to alarms, which activate when the sensors are triggered. Metrics The IndigoVision Alarm Panel has the following dimensions: Height: 50mm (2in) Width: 280mm (11in) Length: 375mm (14.7in) Weight: 5Kg Front panel The Alarm Panel displays status icons (1) on the front panel. 7 3 GETTING STARTED This chapter describes the initial steps required to start using your Alarm Panel. Package contents Before continuing, please check that you have been shipped the items listed for your device. 1 x Alarm Panel 1 x Ethernet cable (2m) 2 x Rack mounts 6 x Screws for rack mounts (6mm) 12 x Connectors for the rear panel (6 way) 3 x Connectors for the rear panel (4 way) 16 x Resistors (not supported) 1 x 12V DC 5A PSU Powering up Figure 3 Power button and power indicator 1. Connect the Alarm Panel to a power source. For more information, see "Connections" on page 3

8 6 2. Check that the power indicator (2) is lit. This shows that the Alarm Panel is connected to power. 3. Press the power button (1). The Alarm Panel powers up. Initial configuration You can configure the Alarm Panel using the Configuration pages. Check the following: The PC and the Alarm Panel are in the same network segment. The Alarm Panel is connected to a network port. The following table displays the initial, default IP properties for the device: Table 3 Initial IP properties Initial Configuration Default IP Address Default Subnet Mask Default Gateway Default Username Admin Default Password 1234 Installing the device You can mount the Alarm Panel on a wall or solid surface, or in a standard rack. To mount the Alarm Panel on a wall or solid surface, use the hangers and screws provided.

9 7 If the Alarm Panel is not secured, it may fall, causing injury or damage to property. Ensure that you firmly secure the screws when mounting the Alarm Panel on a wall or solid surface. Connecting devices The Alarm Panel uses a 16-channel alarm input port to connect sensors. The alarm input port is found on the rear panel of the Alarm Panel. For more information, see "Connections" on page 3

10 4 WEB CONFIGURATION PAGES To access the Web Configuration pages, enter the IP address of your device into a web browser. The Home menu is displayed. IndigoVision products support Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6 or higher recommended). To access any of the other configuration pages, click the required option in the menu on the left of each page. Network These pages allow you to configure the network settings for the Alarm Panel. TCP/IP Use this page to configure the TCP/IP settings for the Alarm Panel. Network Card Select a network card from the drop-down. IP Version Select an IP version from the drop-down. MAC Address Enter the Media Access Control address for the Alarm Panel. Mode This determines how the following network parameters are assigned: IP address Subnet Mask Default Gateway

11 9 To assign these parameters automatically by DHCP server, select DHCP. To assign these parameters manually, select Static, and enter the parameters in the fields provided. Preferred DNS Enter the preferred domain name server. Alternate DNS Enter an alternate domain name server. MTU Enter the maximum transmission unit. This is the maximum size of a packet which is sent from the the Alarm Panel. Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. Connection Use this page to configure the connection settings for the Alarm Panel. Max Connection Enter the maximum number of connections from the Alarm Panel to the server. This cannot be more than 64. Assign a connection port for the Alarm Panel. Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. PPPoE Use this page to configure Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) for the Alarm Panel. Enable Select this option to allow users to access the Alarm Panel through PPPoE. Username and Password Enter the login details to access the Alarm Panel through PPPoE.

12 10 IP Address Enter the IP address to access the Alarm Panel through PPPoE. Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. DDNS Use this page to configure the Dynamic Domain Name Server (DDNS) settings for the Alarm Panel. Enable Select this option to enable DDNS for the Alarm Panel. DDNS Type Select the type of DDNS which you want the Alarm Panel to use from the drop-down. When you select a DDNS type, the Alarm Panel displays a set of fields for which you must enter values. If you select Quick DDNS, the following fields are displayed: Domain Mode Domain Name Address This is optional. If you select No-IP DDNS, CN99 DDNS, or Dynds DDNS, the following fields are displayed: Host IP Domain Name Username Password Interval If you select Private DDNS, the following fields are displayed: Host IP Port Domain Name Username Password Interval

13 11 Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. IP Filter Use this page to configure the IP filter settings for the Alarm Panel. Enable Select this option to enable IP filtering. The Alarm Panel displays two further options: Trusted Sites Select this option to prevent sites from connecting to the Alarm Panel by default. Specify the sites which you want to allow to connect to the Alarm Panel in the Trusted Sites list. Blocked Sites Select this option to allow sites to connect to the Alarm Panel by default, and specify the sites which you want to prevent from connecting to the Alarm Panel in the Blocked Sites list. Click Add to add sites to the Trusted Sites or Blocked Sites list. Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. Use this page to configure alerts to be sent from the Alarm Panel to an address when an alarm is triggered. Enable Select this option to enable alerts. SMTP Server Enter the mail server from which you want the Alarm Panel to send the . Anonymous Select this option if you do not want the to display the login details with which the Alarm Panel access the mail server.

14 12 Username, Password, and Sender Enter the login details with which the Alarm Panel accesses the mail server. Encrypt Type Select the type of encryption which you want the to use. By default, this is NONE, and the is unencrypted. Subject Enter the subject to appear in the . Receiver Select the recipients to whom the Alarm Panel sends the . Interval Enter the period of time in seconds after the alarm is triggered before the Alarm Panel sends the . Health Enable Select this option if you want the Alarm Panel to send a second after the alarm has been triggered, after a longer period of time than the first. Enter the period of time in minutes. Click Test to send a test . Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. SNMP V1/V2 SNMP settings allows you to manage the alarm network by enabling alarms to send traps or SNMP messages to the Alarm Panel when events occur. Use this page to configure the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) settings for the Alarm Panel. Enable Select this option to enable SNMP messages. SNMP Port Enter the port number of the SNMP server. Read Community Select the community with permissions to view traps. Write Community Select the community with permissions to write traps.

15 13 Trap Address Enter the IP address of the server to which the trap is sent. Trap Port Enter the port number which you want an alarm to send SNMP traps. Version Select the versions of SNMP which you want to use. Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. HTTPS Use this page to configure the HTTPS settings for the Alarm Panel. Create HTTPS Server Certificate Select this option to create a new HTTPS server certificate. Download Root Certificate Select this option to download an existing root certificate. Event An event occurs when a signal from a sensor triggers an alarm in the Alarm Panel. These pages allow you to configure how the Alarm Panel responds to alarms being triggered. Alarm Use this page to configure the alarm settings for the Alarm Panel. Enable Select this option to enable a local alarm. Select the alarm you want to enable from the drop-down. Period Select Setup to open the Period dialog. Use the Period dialog to set the days and times on which you want the alarm to be active.

16 14 Anti- dither Enter the duration of the anti- dither period in seconds. This is the length of time after an initial activation during which the Alarm Panel does not trigger the same alarm again. This reduces the number of false alarms. Type Select the alarm s non-triggered state. If this is normally open, select NO. If this is normally closed, select NC. Alarm Out If you want the alarm to activate other devices, such as a siren, select this option, and select which outputs the alarm should activate. Latch Enter how long the alarm remains active after the activating signal from the sensor stops. Send Select this option to send an . For more information, see " " on page 11 Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this page. Click Default to restore all fields in the page to their default settings. Click Save to apply any changes you have made. Abnormality Use this page to configure how the Alarm Panel reacts to events caused by disruptions to the network. Event Type Select the type of network disruption causing the event. Enable Select this option to configure the Alarm Panel to perform an action when the event occurs. Select the action the Alarm Panel should take. Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this menu. Click Save to apply any changes. System These pages allow you to configure the system settings of the Alarm Panel.

17 15 General Use these tabs to configure the general systems settings for the Alarm Panel. General This tab allows you to enter general information about the system. Date & Time Device Name Enter a name to identify the Alarm Panel. Language Select the language from the drop-down. Location Enter the location in which the Alarm Panel is installed. This tab allows you to configure date and time settings. Date Format Select the format in which the Alarm Panel displays the date. Time Format Select the format in which the Alarm Panel displays the time. Date Separator Select the character the Alarm Panel uses to display separate elements of the date. Time Zone Select the timezone in which the Alarm Panel operates. DST Select this option to configure daylight saving time, and enter the Begin Time and End Time. NTP Select this option to configure Network Time Protocol, and enter the Server, Port, and Interval which the NTP uses. Account Use these tabs to view and add user accounts and user groups in the Alarm Panel. User This tab allows you to view and add user accounts. Add User Select this option to add a user account using the Add User dialog. In the Add User dialog, enter the details for the new user account, and select the required System permissions.

18 16 Select Save to create the user account. Group This tab allows you to view and add user groups. Add Group Select this option to add a user group using the Add Group dialog. In the Add Group dialog, enter the Group Name and a Memo, and select the required System permissions. Select Save to create the user group. Auto Maintain Use this page to configure automated maintenance functions for the Alarm Panel. Auto Maintain Time Select the day and the time when you want the Alarm Panel to run Auto Maintain. Auto Delete Old Files Select if the Alarm Panel should delete old files. If you select Customized, enter the age of the files which you want the Alarm Panel to delete. Click Refresh to undo the changes you have made in this menu. Click Save to apply any changes. Click Reboot to restart the Alarm Panel PC and apply the Auto Maintain settings. Import/Export Use this page to import and export configuration files in the Alarm Panel. Default Use this page to set and restore defaults in the Alarm Panel. All, System, Network, Event Select the settings for which you want to set or restore defaults. Default Select this option to set the current values as the default for the selected settings.

19 17 Restore default Select this option to reset the values in the selected settings to the factory default settings. This option does not reset network settings to the factory default settings. Upgrade Use this page to upgrade the Alarm Panel system using a firmware file. Select Firmware File Select the firmware file using Browse. Select Upgrade to start the system upgrade. Info These pages allow you to view information about the Alarm Panel and how it is used. Version: This menu displays the information about the version of Alarm Panel which you are using. Log : This menu displays the events of a certain type which occurred in the system between two points in time. Start Time Enter the earliest date and time for the events which you want to view. End Time Enter the latest date and time for the events which you want to view. Type Select an event type, then select Search to view events within the select parameters. Online User: This menu displays all users currently logged in to the Alarm Panel.

20 18 5 HARDWARE SPECIFICATION This chapter details the hardware specifications for the Alarm Panel. Power Consumption: 30W Voltage: 8-48V DC 12V DC Binary IO The Alarm Panel has the following alarm input and output features: Alarm input: 16-channel local alarm input Input pull-up to 5V Stimulate with ground for activation The input circuits are equipped with circuit breakers to prevent damage to the Alarm Panel Alarm output: 4 relay contacts with Normally Open and Normally Closed contacts Maximum switching voltage: 30V DC at 1A For more information, see "Connections" on page 3
