1 Use of the application program Product family: Product type: Manufacturer: Display Display units Siemens Name: Touch-Manager wave UP 582 silver, with monochrome display Order no.: 5WG AB71 Name: Touch-Manager wave UP 583 silver, with colour display Order no.: 5WG AB71 Functional description The Touch-Manager wave is able to operate up to 117 instabus EIB and KNX radio-controlled devices / channels. They are divided into seven device types with the following maximum values: 40 channels for push buttons, door/window contacts and smoke detectors. 70 channels for binary actuators, dimming actuators and blind or shutter actuators. 7 channels for room temperature controllers. The configured instabus EIB devices can be assigned various properties depending on the device type and are then available for various s. The KNX radio-controlled devices are not configured with the ETS program but directly via the Touch- Manager wave. Push buttons and door/window contacts can be used to trigger scenes and to generate alarm signals via . Door/window contacts also appear on the Device status page of the Touch-Manager wave with the following states: closed or open. For the Switch device type, it is possible to integrate a door camera image and to route an with the property Doorbell. Smoke alarms as well as fault messages from the smoke detector that are available via the property can be routed via by the Touch-Manager wave. The binary actuators, dimming actuators, blind or shutter actuators and the room temperature controllers are available for operation via the property. The luminaires that are connected via binary actuators can thereby be switched (ON/OFF), the lighting at the dimming actuators can be set to any brightness values (0-100%) and the blinds or shutters can be raised or lowered (UP/DOWN). For the room temperature controllers, the toggling between comfort temperature and normal temperature is possible via scenes. The binary actuators and dimming actuators also appear on the page Switchable devices with the property Switchable and can be operated using buttons (ON/OFF). The binary actuators and dimming actuators are also available on the Device status page via the property Lighting/device status. The respective switching states of the connected loads are indicated there. Further convenient s are available for room temperature control in the Touch-Manager wave: approx. 50 comfort heating periods, whereby each individual temperature controller can be switched to comfort mode or normal operation depending on the day of the week and time of day. Display of room temperatures. Adjustment of the setpoint temperatures of each individual temperature controller. Toggling between comfort mode and normal operation of all the temperature controllers together. Activation and deactivation of the holiday setting (frost/heat protection) for all the temperature controllers together. The application program is only usable with ETS3. The full number of channels is only available when this application program is used together with a Touch-Manager wave version 1.10 onwards. With older versions of the (free of charge updateable) Touch-Manager wave software a maximum of 20 sensor channels and 36 actuator channels may be used. Max. number of group addresses: 300 Max. number of associations: 300 Siemens AG , 7 pages Technical manual Electrical Installation Technology Siemens AG 2004 Update: /1

It is not possible to read out the object values of the Touch-Manager wave. Import / Export The Touch-Manager wave UP 58x enables all the settings that have been carried out, i.e. all the channels, descriptions, properties and group address links to be exported to a file. An exported configuration can likewise be transferred to the current UP 58x database entry using an import process. An update of the ETS software or application program can thus be carried out without having to repeat the entire parameterisation Date send Date 3 Byte No The Touch-Manager wave sends the date of the internal realtime clock on the bus via this object Time send Time 3 Byte No The Touch-Manager wave sends the time of the internal realtime clock on the bus via this object Date receive Date 3 Byte No The date of the internal real-time clock of the Touch-Manager wave is synchronised via this object Time receive Time 3 Byte No The time of the internal real-time clock of the Touch-Manager wave is synchronised via this object. Siemens AG , 7 pages Technical manual Electrical Installation Technology Siemens AG 2004 Update: /3

4 When updating an existing project from ETS2 to ETS3, the following procedure is recommended: Export the configuration of any existing Touch- Manager wave in this project (use a meaningful name e.g. with reference to the physical address) Delete any Touch-Manager wave in the current project Export the rest of the project Import this project into ETS3 Import the new application program of the Touch- Manager wave for ETS3 Insert any previously deleted Touch-Manager wave to the project Import the exported configuration into the relevant devices The file is saved in the so-called XML format which is a standardised file format that enables a simple evaluation of the stored data. When importing an XML file, any entries that have been carried out previously are overwritten. A security query prevents unwanted data loss: Assigning parameters to the channels The devices that should be operated and monitored via the Touch-Manager wave must be created in the form of channels in the parameter dialog window. Note To be able to import an exported data set of any Touch- Manger wave UP 58x, all the group addresses which are used in the relevant UP 58x should already have been created in the current project. If group addresses are not present, they are indeed created and linked but the original designations of the group addresses are unknown so that an exact recreation of the original parameterisation is not possible in this case! If the same group addresses are used differently in the original project and in the current project, this can lead to an apparent mal of the installation. The parameter window: Channel No. List of the configured channels. Description Description of the channel that has been created (maximum 20 characters). Device type Selected device type of the channel. Properties Display of the properties which are assigned to a channel. Technical manual , 7 pages Siemens AG Update: Siemens AG 2004 Electrical Installation Technology /4

5 Description of the buttons: Device types and properties New Copy Paste Delete Change Check OK Cancel Opens the dialog for creating a new channel. Copies the selected channel to the clipboard. Inserts a copied channel from the clipboard. Deletes the selected channel. Opens the dialog for modifying the selected channel. Checks the configured channels for the connection of the communication objects with a group address. Closes the parameter dialog and saves the current configuration. Closes the parameter dialog without saving the changes. Default Print Help Reverts to the default settings. All the configured channels are deleted. Prints out the project data. Opens the online Help. A device type must be selected for each configured channel and assigned various properties depending on its application. The various properties of the device types define which s are available for the respective device in the Touch-Manager wave. A description with a maximum of 20 characters must be entered in the input field for each channel. Permitted characters are lowercase and uppercase letters including umlauts and ß characters, numbers, spaces, hyphens and underscore. An error message is displayed when the dialog window is closed if nonpermissible characters are used.
