1 DS7400Xi Addressable Control/ Communicator DS7400Xi DS7400Xi-EXP 110VAC operation 220VAC operation Remotely Programmable WDSRP (Windows Detection Systems Remote Programming Software), allows the systems to be remotely programmed using an IBM PC (or IBM compatible) running Windows and a standard Hayes modem. Using an off-site computer permits diagnostics to be run, systems to be armed, and zones bypassed. This not only reduces service visits to a premise, it also allows quick customer assistance in closing troublesome accounts. Freely Programmable Alpha Display UL Listed,, CSFM Approved 90 PINs The system supports 90 Personal ID Numbers, which are 4 digits in length. Any number of PINS may be designated as master PINs; these are the only PINs which can be used to reprogram PINs. PINs other than the master PINs may be programmed with 7 different levels of authority. These PINs may be restricted from bypassing, testing and disarming the system. Certifications The DS7400Xi is an Addressable Control/ Communicator. It accepts up to 90 Personal ID Numbers (PINs), is keypad or remotely programmable, and has a wide range of features. Features Eight Partitions The DS7400Xi Series may be split up into 8 completely separate systems. Each partition has its own keypads and can have its own reporting ID. Keypads can also be programmed as master keypads, allowing access to all partitions. History Buffer A 400 event history buffer, which can be read at the DS7447 keypad or uploaded to the WDSRP Remote Programming Software, keeps track of Open/Close events, Alarms, Troubles, etc. by time and date. 64 events are in non-volatile memory. 2 Patents 5,268,668 5,302,941 Basic Functions LED and Alpha Keypad Support Zones Automatic Arming/ Delayed Arming Common Area Partitioning Smoke Detector Alarm Verification DS7445 LED keypad Provides an LED per zone (for main board zones 1-8 only), plus eight system status LEDs that indicate conditions such as armed, fire alarm, and trouble. DS7447 Alpha Numeric keypad Two line display allows 16 characters of custom text to be programmed for zone and partition descriptions. The user can adjust the sounder volume and backlight intensity using easy twobutton commands. The DS7447 is required for system programming. LED and LCD keypads may be mixed in the same system. The DS7400Xi accepts up to 128 zones. These zones may consist of eight hardwired zones, plus the remaining addressable zones. Any of these zones may be programmed to follow one of 15 programmable zone functions. An automatic arming time can be programmed for each partition each day. The user may use Delayed Arming to override automatic arm time or to specify a time for the panel to arm. One partition can be programmed to follow the arming state of some or all of the other partitions. The common area arms only when all partitions that are linked to it are armed. This allows for protection of shared areas such as foyers and entry-ways, while still maintaining separate partitioning. The DS7400Xi Series may be programmed to perform an automatic reset of the smoke detectors, should an alarm occur. If a second alarm occurs within the verification window, an immediate fire alarm results. This reduces potential false alarms, while still providing fast response to an alarm. The DS7400Xi has a built-in answering machine override function. No external hardware is required. The system supports two 20-digit telephone numbers with a three or four digit account code. Each of the two phone numbers can be configured for the type of communication format and choice of pulse or tone dialing. The third phone number used for remote programming. The panel uses EEPROM technology; thereby, allowing it to retain all program memory as well as the arm/disarm state through a total power failure. There is also a delay on power restore to prevent false alarms from space sensors that may take several minutes to become operational. None of the system programming or user codes will be lost. Output Functions can be programmed to follow system events or to follow one or two specific zones in a cross matrix fashion (see Input/Output Cross Matrixing). These Output Functions can be programmed to control octal relay outputs or addressable bus outputs. Input/Output cross matrixing allows Output Functions to follow the status of specific input zones. Outputs can be programmed to follow any combination of one or two zones, open or closed, with the system armed or disarmed. The DS7400Xi supports up to two DS7488 Octal Relay Modules or two DS7489 Solid State Output Modules. Each module supplies 8 relay or solid state outputs to follow system events or to follow programmed Output Functions from the DS7400Xi. The DS7400Xi supports up to 20 DS7465 Input/Output modules. These modules are connected to the addressable bus and provide one input loop and one Form C output relay. The input loop operates the same as all other addressable inputs. 3 Anti-Takeover Protection Two Independent Entry Delays Easy Function Key User Interface Flexible Digital Communication All or part of the programming may be locked so the program cannot be changed should someone attempt to takeover the account. Patented BusLoc anti-takeover circuitry imbeds a secret code into the addressable devices, prohibiting the control from being replaced using these devices. Zones may be programmed to select from one of the two entry delay times. This allows the selection of a longer entry delay time for zones that are located a long distance from the keypad. Six labeled function keys eliminate the need for multi-button commands. Enter a PIN followed by the function key to perform functions such as arming, disarming, and resetting smoke detectors. The interface provides new users with easy to follow procedures. The interface does not use cumbersome menu driven formats, so expert users can quickly access the items they need. A programmable Quick Arm feature allows users to turn the system on without a PIN. However, a PIN is required to turn off the system, silence alarms, or perform system tests. Residential Mode requires a PIN to disarm the system, silence alarms, and reset the system. The communicator will work into most alarm receivers that are in use today, and support 3/1, 4/1, 4/2, Contact ID, SIA, BFSK digital communicator formats and pager format. The pager format allows the control to dial a digital pager service and leave a numeric message representing the account number and event code. A keyed lock is included, and these enclosures have provision for an optional tamper switch for monitoring the door. AE3/AE4 The AE3 is a large gray enclosure and the AE4 is a large red enclosure. Both are manufactured from 18 Ga., cold-rolled steel, and measure (WxHxD) 15 in. x in. x 4.25 in. (380 cm x 530 cm x 108 cm). A keyed lock is included, and these enclosures have provision for an optional tamper switch for monitoring the door.
