CAUTI indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, may result in damage to the product.. TURN OFF POWER. Turn OFF power to circuit at main circuit breaker or fuse box. CAUTI o not rely on wall switch alone to turn off power. See Fig. OFF OFF REA ALL INSTRUCTIS! WARNIN: Read these instructions. Consult a qualified electrician if you are not certain about the installation process. Always install wiring connections in accordance with local code, ordinances and the National Electrical Code. PREPARATI Before beginning to assemble or install lighting fixture, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents listed and shown on page and 2. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the fixture. Contact customer service for replacement parts at (800) between the hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday CST. This light fixture is designed to fit standard junction boxes as defined by the National Electrical Code. Please contact a qualified electrician if you have any questions regarding the installation. Estimated Installation Time: 30 minutes. Installation time will vary depending on skill level and existing wiring conditions. Estimated installation time assumes that standard wall junction box and supply wiring are already installed. Items Required for Assembly: Phillips screwdriver, slotted screwdriver, wrench or pliers, silicone caulking adhesive (not included) Suggested Items to have on-hand: Wire cutters and/or wire strippers, step ladder (not included) 2. ATTACH CROSSBAR. Remove the crossbar from behind the lamp fixture. You will need to loosen the two decorative nuts on E the front of the fixture to remover C the crossbar. Store the two decorative cap nuts() in a safe place as they will be needed later to mount the light fixture after the crossbar is Stud installed. Attach the crossbar (C) to BC the junction box with the screws (E) provided. Adjust the length of the studs if necessary. and secure them CE with two lock nuts 3. CNECT WIRES. Connect the bare ground wire from the fixture and the supply ground wire to ground screw on the crossbar (C) (ground screw maybe painted green). Connect the white wire from the junction box to the white wire from the fixture by twisting a wire nut (F) onto the ends of the wires. Connect the black wire from the junction box to the black wire on the fixture by twisting a wire nut(f) onto the bare ends of the wires. NOTE: In some cases the black Page 3 Page 4 F BC F

4 Junction box wire may be red and/or have a copper conductor. The White junction box wire may be square and/or have a silver conductor. 4. MOUNT FIXTURE. Make sure wire connections are secure. Carefully position wires and wire nuts into the junction box. Position the crossbar (C) so that the fixture mounting studs are level. Carefully position the light fixture (A) over the junction box so that the mounting studs protrude through the front cover on the fixture. Thread the decorative nuts back onto the studs to secure the light fixture to the junction box. Tighten the decorative nuts so that the light fixture is secure and flush with the mounting surface. O NOT overtighten. Silicone Caulking Tube CAUTI: The lamp fixture is designed to be mounted so that the motion detector controls face towards the ground. If the lamp fixture is mounted in any other position, it may be possible for water to enter the unit and cause damage to the unit and cause possible electric shock. Make sure the controls are facing towards the ground! IMPORTANT: After mounting the fixture, it will be necessary to apply silicone sealant caulking compound completely around the perimeter of the fixture where the back of the cover plate meets the mounting surface. Silicone caulking prevents water from entering the junction box. Your installation is now complete. Turn on power at the circuit breaker and flip the wall switch to the position. The wall switch must remain in the position for the motion detector to operate properly. MANUAL OVERRIE: You can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping the wall switch off for to 3 seconds and then back on. The light will stay on until you flip the switch off and on again. If you leave the light on all night, the light will automatically turn off at dawn and return to SECURITY mode. Flip the light switch off and on to toggle twice in 3 seconds, it will change between AUTO and MANUAL MOE with the light staying on for 5 hours. The MANUAL OVERRIE feature only works at night or when in TEST mode. OPERATIN INSTRUCTIS Make sure power is turned on at circuit breaker and wall switch is in the position. Wall switch must remain in the position for the motion detector to work properly. There are three control knobs on the bottom USK/AWN Of the light fixture to control the motion detector. SECURITY TEST TIME The control knobs are:. MOE SELECT: Security Mode/usk to awn Mode 2. TIME/TEST 3. SENSITIVITY SENSITIVITY. MOE SELECT: SECURITY/USK to AWN SECURITY: Your lighting fixture is energy-saving when used in SECURITY mode. In this mode the light will come on at night only when motion is detected. The light will stay on as long as motion continues and stay on for a brief time after all motion has stopped. The time is set with the TIME/TEST knob discussed below. To put the fixture into the SECURITY mode, turn the MOE SELECT knob fully counterclockwise so that the small pointer is aimed toward the SECURITY setting. USK to AWN: To put the lamp fixture into the USK to AWN mode, turn the MOE SELECT knob fully clockwise so that the small pointer is aimed towards the USK to AWN setting. In this mode the lights automatically come on at dusk and turn off at dawn. Motion has no effect. Page 5 Page 6

5 2.TIME/TEST The TIME/TEST knob is used to switch into the TEST mode and to set the time that the lamp will stay on after motion is detected while in the SECURITY mode. Switching to TEST Mode. A photocell is built into the TIME/TEST knob to automatically shut off the light during daylight hours. In TEST mode the photocell is turned off so the light can come on during daylight hours for testing the coverage area. To enter TEST mode, turn the knob fully counterclockwise so that the pointer is aimed at the word "TEST". To leave test mode, turn the knob clockwise away from the TEST position. Note: When the TIME/TEST knob is set to TEST and the MOE SELECT knob is set to SECURITY, the light will come on after motion is detected and will then shut off after 5~0 seconds of time. When the TIME/ TEST knob is set to TEST and the MOE SELECT knob is set to USK to AWN, the light will remain on all the time and the coverage area cannot be tested. Setting the time: To set the amount of time, simply turn the knob clockwise away from the TEST setting. The maximum time after motion stops is 0 minutes with the knob turned fully clockwise. 3.SENSITIVITY The SENSITIVITY knob adjusts the fixture`s sensitivity to motion. Turn the knob clockwise to increase sensitivity and counterclockwise to reduce the sensitivity. The most common setting is fully clockwise for maximum sensitivity. MANUAL OVERRIE while in SECURITY mode, you can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping the wall switch off to 3 seconds and then back on. The light will stay on until you flip the switch off and on again. If you leave the light on all night, the light will automatically turn off at dawn and return to SECURITY mode the next night. The MANUAL OVERRIE feature only works at night in SECURITY mode or when in TEST mode. COVERAE AREA The motion detector has two coverage dials, located on either side of the motion detector lens. These dials are used to adjust the coverage area on the left or right side of the fixture without affecting the detector s sensitivity to motion. The left dial adjusts the coverage to the left of the detector and the right dial adjusts the coverage to the right. There are three settings for each dial. For maximum coverage, turn the coverage dial up. own for more coverage; Up for less coverage. WALK-TESTIN THE COVERAE AREA TO test the area covered by the motion detector, first switch to TEST mode by turning the TIME knob to the TEST position. Make sure the Mode Select knob is pointing to SECURITY. Walk in the area to be tested. When your motion is detected, the light will come on. Move to a different spot in the area to be tested and stop all motion until the light turns off(about 5 ~0 seconds). Start walking again to see if your motion will activate the light. 6 MANUAL OVERRIE You can also turn the light on manually from the wall switch by flipping the wall switch off for to 3 seconds and then back on. The light will stay on until you flip the switch off and on again. If you leave the light on all night, the light will automatically turn off at dawn and return to SECURITY mode. The MANUAL OVERRIE feature only works at night or when in TEST mode. TROUBLESHOOTIN NOTES s stay on all the time, the sensitivity might be too great. Try turning the sensitivity down by turning the SENSITIVITY. Note: A dimmer switch can interfere with the sensor and cause the lights to stay on. o not use a dimmer switch to interfere with the light. CARE AN MAINTENANCE Your decorative outdoor motion detector lighting fixture requires very little care and maintenance. Simply clean the glass and coated metal surfaces with a non-abrasive cleaner. o not use any cleaners with chemicals, solvents or harsh abrasives. The motion detecting lens is coated with a specially painted finish and requires special care when cleaning. Use only a soft dry cloth to dust or wipe the lens area. Another area that will need special attention is the photocell window located right next to the TIME/TEST knob. The photocell detects light through this small window. Keep this area clean to prevent dirt from collecting. Excessive accumulation of dirt or dust on the photocell window may cause the lights to come on during the day. BULB INSTALLATI The light fixture is designed to safely operate with a single medium 00 watt type A-9 incandescent lamp or 23W CFL lamp. o not overlamp this fixture. Some models require the removal of a cover to access the bulb. To remove the cover, remove the decorative nuts that secure the cover in place. Replace the decorative nuts after installing the bulb. TROUBLE SHOOTIN Use below chart for troubleshooting your security light PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTI flashes or blinks: Light will not go on or off There may be a poor connection between the lamp fixture and supply wires inside the junction box. The photocell may be detecting daylight and preventing the light from coming on. Bulb may need replacement. Coverage dial on either side of the motion detector lens may be set so that the detector is blocked. Motion detector lens may be installed upside down. ently pull lens out. The three drain holes should be on the bottom. The fixture will only operate on standard 20VAC/60Hz power. The SENSITIVITY may be set too high. Motion detector lens may be installed upside down. The coverage area may be too large and the motion detector is sensing unwanted motion. There may not be enough light being detected by the photocell The photocell maybe detecting light from the lamp and could be responding as if the light from the bulb were daylight. Motion sensor needs to be reset. ouble check the wire connections. Turn the TIME/TEST knob to the TEST position to turn off the photocell, or wait until dusk and recheck Remove bulb and check for a break in the filament wire. Replace bulb if necessary. Turn the dials downward to increase the coverage area. Re-install lens to proper position. Have power supply checked by qualified electrician Try reducing the SENSITIVITY in small steps ently pull lens out. The three drain holes should be on the bottom. Re-install in proper position. Try adjusting the coverage dials on either side of the motion detector lens upward to reduce the coverage area. On cloudy or overcast days, the light may stay on longer than intended.
