4 1. Introduction Dear customer, Thank you for purchasing this product. For safety reasons, always follow the instructions in this manual. These operating instructions contain important information on setting up and using the product. Please consider this if you give the product to a third party, and keep the instructions for future reference. 5 3. Intended use This standalone digital code lock is designed for private and commercial use. It is primarily intended for for independent 12 V locking systems. The code lock is compatible with most electrical lock systems. It can also be integrated into existing security systems and machines. The code lock has three types of output for different security technologies/peripherals. It is only designed for indoor use. Using the product for any purposes other than those described above may damage the product and result in a short circuit, fire or electric shock. Always follow the safety information in these instructions. The code lock must not be modified or converted. In addition, follow the operating instructions of other devices connected to the code lock. Always observe the safety information in these instructions! 4. 6 5. Safety instructions Read the operating instructions and safety information carefully. We shall not be liable for damage to property or personal injury caused by incorrect handling or failure to follow these instructions and observe the safety information! Such cases will void the warranty. The code lock must not be modified or converted, as this will void the warranty and the product certification. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets. Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly, as it may become dangerous playing material for children. Protect the product from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity, moisture, flammable gases, vapours and solvents. Do not place the product under any mechanical stress. If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, stop using it and prevent unauthorized use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product: -- is visibly damaged, -- is no longer working properly, -- has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or -- has been subjected to any serious transport-related stress. Always observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the product. Devices that generate heat or present other safety hazards must be used under supervision. Never pour liquids on electrical devices or place any objects containing liquids (such as vases) on top of or near such devices. This may cause a fire or a fatal electric shock. Maintenance, modifications and repairs must be done by a technician or an authorized repair centre. If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel. 6

7 6. Installation Check whether there are any cables or wires underneath the mounting surface. These may be damaged when you drill holes into the surface. Disconnect the wires from the mains and ensure that they cannot be switched back on. Check that there is no voltage on the wires. Take care not to short circuit the input and output wires. Keep the wires separate from one another. Before connecting any wires or cables, turn off the power supply and ensure that it cannot be switched back on by unauthorized personnel. Use the device as a template and mark the positions of the drill holes on the wall. Use a 3 mm drill bit to drill at least 10 mm into the markings. Depending on the surface material or mounting position, additional parts may be required. These parts are not included in the assembly kit. Ensure that the cross section of the cables is sufficient. Before wiring the electrics, check that the individual wires are connected and configured correctly. If in doubt, consult an electrician. Secure the enclosure to the wall using a wood screw. If necessary, remove the connector from the circuit board. Connect all of the necessary contacts to the correct wire and strip the other wires. Insert the connector into the circuit board on the keypad. Clamp the wires into the screw contacts and check that they are in contact. Insert the keypad into the enclosure and screw it in place with the machine screws. 7

8 7. Electrical connection Connect the 16 cables according to the following diagram. Alternatively, you can release the pin strip and connect a separate connector directly to the circuit board. The circuit board features 6 additional screw contacts (T1: open, T2-4, T5-7). Insert the ends of the cables into these contacts and tighten the screws. You can also use the 3 jumper contacts. 9 T2-T3: Output 1 Door lock: Connect the door lock directly to these inputs. Ensure that terminals 2 (-) and 3 (+) are connected in the correct polarity. This connection delivers a maximum current of 3 A at 12 V/DC. By default, this output is Fail-Secure (the output locks the door when power is removed). It can be changed to Fail-Safe using program code 66. In this scenario, output 1 opens the door when there is no power supply. Use program codes to configure the output settings. T4: Door opener: This input can be switched to ground (-) using a button (NC switch). The door will open when the button is pressed (equivalent to entering the correct code). This input is designed for door openers located next to the inside of a door. This function must not be used for personnel/machine safety purposes. Pressing the button on the door opener is equivalent to entering the correct code. Several buttons can be connected in parallel to this input (e.g. on the left and right-hand sides of a door). T5-T6: 12 V/DC supply voltage: Connect the positive terminal (+12 V) to T5 and GND to T6. T5 and 15 form a common GND. T7: Door sensor: A door sensor (normally closed, e.g. magnetic sensor) terminates the connection between input T7 and GND and reacts as follows: This input must be connected to GND if no sensor is used. Automatically prevents the door from opening: The sensor contact is broken when the door is opened. The outputs on the door lock are disabled to prevent unauthorized access by third parties, even when the preset timer has not elapsed. Forced door alarm: The code lock triggers an alarm when the sensor contact is broken without using the door opener or a correct access code. The alarm will sound for 60 seconds, or until a correct access code is entered. Use program code 80 to enable the alarm. Open door alarm: The code lock triggers an alarm if the door is not closed within the preset time. Use program code 9 to configure how long the door can stay open before the alarm goes off (1 999 seconds). Communication between code locks: Output 14 is switched to GND when the door is opened. This prevents other code locks from accessing the door. 9

10 1-2: Tamper monitor: The contact between pin 1 and pin 2 is broken if the code lock is opened. The contacts can be integrated into a 24-hour surveillance system for comprehensive monitoring. The connections can be left unconnected. 3-4, 5-6, 7: Door LED, alarm LED, auxiliary LED: Programmable LEDs; see LED indicators 8: K or A output: This NPN transistor (open collector with a maximum current of 100 ma at 24 V/DC) can be used to transfer a signal to other devices when a button is pressed, or when an alarm is triggered after the door is forced open. Keypad alarm (K): Output 8 is switched to GND (-) for 10 seconds each time a button is pressed. This can be used to turn on lighting and surveillance cameras or send messages (e.g. to security staff). Alarm output (A): Output 8 is switched to GND (-) when a forced door alarm is triggered. This signal can be processed externally (e.g. by an external security firm or a master alarm system) : Output 2: This output is an auxiliary relay output with a maximum current of 1 A. Output 2 is for user group 2 (with the corresponding codes). Use the program codes to configure the output settings. The potential-free contact can be used as an NO (Normaly Open) or NC (Normaly Closed) contact. It is designed for controlling security or automatic machine control systems. 12: Output 3: This NPN transistor output (open collector) is designed for additional auxiliary functions. It can control security systems or an additional 12 V/DC relay. Output 3 is for user group 3 (with the corresponding codes). This output is switched to GND (-) when it is activated. The output can tolerate a maximum current of 100 ma at 24 V/DC. Use the program codes to configure the output settings. 10

11 13: Inhibiting input: When this input is set to GND(-), it cannot be enabled by the door opener or by entering a code from user group 1. This input is designed for use with several code locks that control one door lock. It can be connected to output 14. This is an NPN open collector output. 14: Communication: This output is normally open and is switched to GND(-) for 5 seconds when the door lock is opened with a code from user group 1 or a door opener. The output stays connected to GND(-) when the door is open. It prevents the door from being activated by two keypads at the same time. It can also prevent different doors from being opened at the same time by the same keypad. This allows you to keep different groups of people separate from each other. 15: GND T5 and 15 form a common GND. 16: Emergency code output: When the emergency code is entered, output 16 (NON open collector transistor) is switched to GND(-). The output delivers a maximum current of 100 ma at 24 V/DC. It can be used to trigger an alarm/siren or automatically notify security personnel. 11

12 8. LED indicators The code lock features 4 LED indicators. One of the LEDs functions as a status indicator. Two of the LEDs can be manually configured, and the other LED indicates an incorrect code entry for user group 1; it can also be manually configured using a jumper. Note that the MAIN/Auxiliary LED is a dual LED (in the same unit). Main LED (green): This LED functions as the status indicator. It flashes when the combination lock is in standby and indicates when a button is pressed. (See the LED signals table for details.) Lock/Auxiliary LED (red) - output 7: You can use a jumper to assign the following functions to this LED: Lock - Jumper to inhibit : The LED turns on when the codes for user group 1 are disabled with a super user code, or when an incorrect code is entered repeatedly. For details, see the settings for program code 70. Auxiliary indicator - jumper to AUX : This setting allows you to manually control the LED. The LED is connected to the positive power supply terminal via a 1.5 kohm resistor. The negative terminal is connected to output 7 this makes the LED turn on when the output is connected to GND(-). Freely configurable green LED (connection 3-4): This LED can be controlled externally and configured for a variety of applications. Connection 3 is the negative terminal and connection 4 is the positive terminal. A 3.3 kohm resistor is connected in series. Freely configurable red LED (connection 5-6): This LED can be controlled externally and configured for a variety of applications. Connection 5 is the negative terminal and connection 6 is the positive terminal. A 3.3 kohm resistor is connected in series. Keypad backlight (only for devices with a keypad backlight): The keypad backlight is dimmed when the code lock is in standby. When a button is pressed, the keypad is fully illuminated for 10 seconds. The code must be entered within 10 seconds, otherwise previous entries will be deleted and the backlight will automatically dim. 12

20 11. Settings and programming Prerequisites The keypad must be placed in programming mode in order to configure the settings. All settings data is saved to a non-volatile memory. This means that the data is not deleted when the code lock is switched off. Do not turn off the power supply when you are programming the keypad, as this may corrupt the memory. a) Enabling/disabling programming mode The master code is required to enable programming mode. 1. To enable programming mode, enter the master code and confirm your entry with the * key, The default master code is Master code Confirm * The keypad is now in programming mode. 2. Use the code overview to configure the settings. You can configure the settings one by one. 3. When you have finished configuring the settings, press the * button to exit programming mode. For security reasons, change the master code when you configure the code lock for the first time. The old master code will be automatically deleted. If you forget the master code, use the DAP jumper to enable programming mode. 20

21 DAP jumper (resets the master code) If you have forgotten the master code, follow the steps below to perform a hardware reset: 1. Disconnect the keypad from the power supply: 2. Connect the DAP jumper from OFF to ON using the plug-in contact. 3. Connect the keypad to the power supply. The keypad will start to beep. 4. Connect the DAP jumper from ON to OFF using the plug-in contact. The keypad will stop beeping when the DAP jumper is placed in the output position. 5. The keypad is now in programming mode. 6. You can now reprogram the device using the available options in the Overview section. The DAP jumper is used to reset the master code and enable programming mode. It does not affect the other settings. After resetting the code lock, you will need to enter a new master code. b) Configuring a new master code Program code New master code Confirm 0 xxxx # Programming examples: 1. Enable programming mode using the master code and the * key, or by using the DAP jumper. In this example, the default master code 0000 is used: * 2. Set the new master code to # 3. Press the * key to exit programming mode. 0 is the memory slot for the master code. The master code can be 4 8 digits long. If the keypad is set to automatically confirm keypad entries, the user codes must have the same number of digits as the master code. The master code is now set to Use the new code to enable programming mode when you want to configure the settings. 21

22 c) Resetting the system Sometimes it may be necessary to delete all data from the memory (apart from the master code) and restore the keypad to the factory settings. For example, this may be necessary if saved data cannot be accessed, or if the code lock has a new owner. Follow the steps below to restore factory settings: 1. Enable programming mode using the master code and the * key. In this example, the master code is 3289: * 2. Enter the system reset code and confirm your entry with the # key. All settings except the master code will be deleted # The keypad will be set to manual confirmation mode when the factory settings are restored (codes need to be confirmed manually with the # key). 3. Configure the new settings. Refer to the Overview section for a list of possible settings. 4. Press the * key to exit programming mode. d) Configuring the user codes You can program three groups of user codes. This depends on which output you use for your peripheral device. The following steps explain how to configure the user codes. Program code User ID Code input Confirm Output to digits # Output to digits # Output to digits # 1, 2 and 3 are the memory slots for the user codes for outputs 1, 2 and user codes can be assigned to output 1 (user ID 00 99). 10 user codes can be assigned to outputs 2 and 3 (user ID 0 9). The user codes can be 4 8 digits long. In automatic confirmation mode, the user codes must have the same number of digits as the master code. 22

24 e) Programming the super user code The super user code is a multitasking code which can be used to enable outputs 1, 2 and 3 at the same time. It can also be used to access the special features of output 1. Program code Super user code Confirm digits # The super user code can be 4 8 digits long. In automatic confirmation mode, the super user code must have the same number of digits as the master code. The super user code and the door opener are independent of all lock systems. You can open the door at any time. For more information about the super user code, refer to section C-2 in Overview. Refer to the Overview section for more information about manual and automatic confirmation mode. Programming example 1. Enter the master code and press the * key to enable programming mode. In this example, the master code is * 2. Set the super user code to # 3. Press the * key to exit programming mode. Instructions 1. Enabling/disabling output 1, 2 or 3 The super user code functions like the user codes. Enter the code together with the number of the output that you want to enable or disable. The super user code can be used to reset an output that is enabled for a preset duration # 1 Enable/disable output # 2 Enable/disable output # 3 Enable/disable output 3 24

25 2. Using output 1 to override the door lock Output 1 monitors the door lock. It is possible to keep the door locked, even when a code is entered. This may be useful during holidays. It is also possible to keep the door unlocked. This feature can be configured using the following code: # 7 Door is locked/unlocked The LED indicator for output 1 (green) turns on when the door is unlocked. Only use this feature if you are using the door lock in fail-safe mode. Do not forget to disable this feature when it is no longer required. When you use the super user code to keep the door lock open, the door sensor features and the user codes are temporarily disabled. To re-enable these features, enter the super user code again. The following features are temporarily disabled: Automatic door relocking Forced door alarm Open door alarm Communications output All user codes for output 1 (including the super user code) Emergency code for output 1 3. Disabling user codes for output 1 As the owner, you can manually disable user codes (e.g. to check that your staff observe office hours). Use the following code to enable/disable this feature: # 9 The user codes are disabled/enabled You can only disable all user codes; it is not possible to disable individual codes. For security reasons, the door opener and the super user code remain enabled until output 1 is disabled. The red LED indicator turns on when output 1 is disabled. Disabling output 1 does not affect outputs 2 and 3. 25

26 f) Configuring the emergency code The emergency code provides protection for the user in the event that he/she is forced to open the door under duress. It works like a normal user code and enables output 1 to open the door. In addition, the emergency output is automatically enabled. This output reports the incident to a security system or security personnel. The emergency code can be 4 8 digits long. In automatic confirmation mode, the emergency code must have the same number of digits as the master code. You can configure 10 different emergency codes for user IDs 0 9. Entering the emergency code permits all subsequent operations. It cannot be bypassed by a security system or locking functions. For more information about emergency codes, refer to section C-3 in Overview. Refer to the Overview section for more information about manual and automatic confirmation mode. Choose an emergency code that you will easily remember in an emergency. For example, the emergency code could differ from the user code by one digit: if the user code is 1357, the emergency code could be set to 3357 or Programming example 1. Enter the master code and press the * key to enable programming mode. In this example, the master code is * 2. Set the emergency code to # 3. If you require more than one emergency code, set the second code to # 4. Press the * key to exit programming mode. 26

27 Instructions 1. Enter the four-digit user code to enable output 1 and the emergency output # 2. Enter the five-digit user code to enable output 1 and the emergency output # 3. Enter a normal user code to disable the emergency output (1357 in this example) # The emergency output stays enabled until it is disabled with a user code or the super user code. g) Configuring the visitor code Visitor codes work like user codes. They can be programmed for single use or for a specified time period. Visitor codes can be 4 8 digits long. In automatic confirmation mode, the visitor code must have the same number of digits as the master code. You can save up to 10 visitor codes (user IDs 0 to 9). Validity period: 0 Single-use code: There is no time limit, but the code can only be used once. 01 to 99 Time limit in hours: Set the duration for which the code will remain valid (1 99 hours). All visitor codes will be deleted when the power supply is disconnected. For more information about visitor codes, refer to section C-4 in Overview. Refer to the Overview section for more information about manual and automatic confirmation mode. 27

28 Programming example 1. Enter the master code and press the * key to enable programming mode. In this example, the master code is * 2. Set the visitor code to 1378 with ID 0 (single-use code with no time limit) # 3. Set the visitor code to with ID 1 (valid for 5 hours) # 4. Set the visitor code to 8358 with ID 2 (valid for 10 hours) # 5 Press the * key to exit programming mode. Instructions 1. 29 h) Deleting user codes and other function codes You can delete codes for individual users (e.g. when a member of staff leaves the company, or when you want to restrict access rights for a certain individual). Example 1. Enter the master code and press the * key to enable programming mode. In this example, the master code is * 2. If you wish to disable more than one code, delete the codes one by one. 32 If you enable start/stop mode with a 2 or 3-digit start code, the entire code is required to disable the output. This mode can be used to allow personnel to activate a system (e.g. an alarm system) and ensure that it can only be disabled by the owner. You can also user the super user code to enable/disable the outputs. Super User Code # 1 Enable/disable output 1 Super User Code # 2 Enable/disable output 2 Super User Code # 3 Enable/disable output 3 j) Output 1: Electric lock systems There are two types of lock systems: Fail-Secure and Fail-Safe. Ensure that you select the correct locking system for your security system. The keypad supports both lock systems. Use the corresponding program code to select the desired system. Program code Lock system Confirm or 1 # Lock system codes 0 Fail-Secure Door stays locked when power is removed. 1 Fail-Safe Output 1 is enabled/the door is opened when the power supply is removed. When installing the lock, ensure that the electric lock system does not deliver an excessive current. Fail-Secure systems may deliver high peak currents. 32

33 k) Multiple incorrect code entries If an incorrect code is entered several times, the keypad can lock the system or inform security personal to prevent unauthorized access. You can configure the following options: Program code Lock options Confirm digits # Codes for lock options 1 If the wrong code is entered 10 times in a row, the keypad is disabled for 30 seconds (default setting). 2 If the wrong code is entered 10 times in a row, the emergency output is enabled. To disable the emergency output, enter a user code or the super user code If the wrong key is entered 5 10 times, the keypad is disabled for 15 minutes. Use the digits 5 10 to configure how many times the wrong code can be entered before the keypad is disabled. You can unlock the door at any time by entering the super user code. 0 0 No system lock-up will happen Example 1. Enter the master code and press the * key to enable programming mode. In this example, the master code is * 2. Disable the keypad for 15 minutes after five incorrect code entries # 3. Press the * key to exit programming mode. 33

34 l) Door forced open The keypad sets off alarm when the door is forced open without entering a user code or pressing the door opener. The keypad buzzer and the alarm output will be automatically enabled. The alarm output automatically reports the incident to the security system or security personnel. Program code Function Confirm or 1 # Options 0 The forced door alarm is switched off (standard setting). 1 The alarm is enabled. The alarm goes off for 60 seconds when the door is forced open. To reset the alarm, enter a user code for output 1. m) Open door notification tones The code lock beeps to indicate that the door can be opened. Program code Function Confirm 8 1 0, 1 or 2 # Options 0 The keypad does not beep when the door can be opened. 1 The keypad beeps twice when the door can be opened. 2 The keypad beeps for one second when the door can be opened (default setting) 34

35 n) Confirmation mode You can confirm code entries manually with the # key, or you can set the code lock to confirm them automatically. Using manual confirmation mode prevents the user from guessing the length of the user code. Program code Function Confirm or 1 # Options 0 Manual confirmation mode (default setting): After entering a user code, press the # key to confirm your entry. In this mode, the user codes can be 4 8 digits long. The user codes do not need to have the same number of digits as the master code. 1 Automatic confirmation mode: You do not need to press the # key to confirm your entry. The user codes must have the same number of digits as the master code. For example, if the master code is 5 digits, the user codes must also be 5 digits. o) Status tones The status tones indicate whether the correct code was entered. The status tone settings do not affect the open door notification tones (program code 81). Program code Function Confirm or 1 # Options 0 All status tones are disabled. This setting is recommended for quiet environments. 1 The status tones are enabled. The keypad will beep when the correct code is entered. If you enter the wrong code, the keypad will beep five times (default setting). 35

36 p) LED indicators The keypad LED turns on when the keypad is in standby. The LED can be disabled if you do not want it to stay switched on (e.g. if you find it disturbing at night). Program code Function Confirm or 1 # Options 0 The LED is switched off in standby mode. 1 The LED turns on when the keypad is in standby. q) Door open delay Access to buildings or rooms can be controlled with user codes. To leave a room or building, press the door release button. You can set a delay interval after the button is pressed to delay the door release/output 1. This may be necessary in hospitals or kindergartens to prevent patients/children from leaving a protected area. The code lock will beep when the door release button is pressed. These settings do not affect the functionality of the keypad. They are optional features and must be configured by the owner. Program code Function Confirm or 4 # Options 0 Press the button to open the door. Output 1 is immediately enabled without an acoustic warning or delay (default setting) 1 Press the button to open the door. The keypad will beep for 5 seconds before output 1 is enabled. 2 Press the button to open the door. The keypad will beep for 10 seconds before output 1 is enabled. 3 Press and hold the door release button for 5 seconds. The keypad will beep for 5 seconds before output 1 is enabled. 4 Press and hold the door release button for 10 seconds. The keypad will beep for 10 seconds before output 1 is enabled. 36

37 Examples 1. Enter the master code and press the * key to enable programming mode. In this example, the master code is * 2. Set a 5-second time delay: # 3. Program output 1 so that the door release button has to be pressed for 5 seconds before the door can be opened # 4. Reset the door release button to the default settings # 5. Press the * key to exit programming mode. For security reasons, place some brief instructions next to the button to inform the user how to use it. Here are two examples: PRESS THE BUTTON AND WAIT FOR 5 SECONDS UNTIL THE DOOR UNLOCKS. or PRESS AND HOLD THE BUTTON FOR 5 SECONDS UNTIL THE DOOR IS RELEASED. r) Open door warning The keypad sounds an alarm when the door has been open for an extended period. Program code Open duration Confirm 9 0 or 1 to 999 # Options 0 The open door warning is disabled (default setting). 1 to 999 The open door warning is enabled. The alarm goes off when the door has been open for seconds (manually configurable). 37

38 12. Simplified software version If there is only one user code for each output and you do not require any special features, you can use a simplified software version. No user IDs are required for this software version. The simplified software version is designed for users that prefer an easy setup with the standard settings. Skip this chapter if you do not wish to used the simplified software version. Important Information You can switch between the full and simplified software versions. All user and master codes consist of 4 digits. Before switching to the simplified software version, ensure that the master code is 4 digits long. Switching to the simplified software version takes 2 3 seconds. Do not enter a code during this time. The keypad will beep twice when the system version changes. After switching to the simplified software version, the keypad switches to automatic confirmation mode. To revert to the full system version, enter the reset code The simplified software version simplifies the code entry process. All program options function like the full software version. Refer to the overview below for details on programming options for the simplified software version. a) Accessing program mode with the master code Enter master code Confirm Remarks: Xxxx * Enable programming mode 38

41 13. Typical applications a) Standard wiring for a single code lock CABLE HARNESS 12 V/DC POWER SUPPLY Connect the flyback diode (1N4004, included with the code lock) to the door lock in series. Place the diode as close as possible to the lock. When an inductance is switched off (electromagnet in the lock), the energy released is routed through the diode. This prevents damage to the code lock. To prevent an electrostatic charge on the housing and keypad, connect the GND (-) output to a neutral earthed wire. The door LED turns on when the door output is connected. If desired, the LED can be configured to stay switched off. Isolate all unused connections to prevent a short circuit. Configure the lock type ( Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure ) with program code 66. The use of a door sensor (input T7) is optional. If no sensor is used, this input must be bridged to GND. When a sensor is connected, the door lock can be configured to do the following: -- Automatically disable the lock when the door is closed. -- Trigger an alarm when the door is forced open. DOOR OPENER -- Sound a warning alarm when the door stays open for a preset duration. 41

These are used to indicate the outputs, alarm, program mode and other features. Refer to the instructions for example 1. Output 2 is used to enable/disable the alarm. Refer to the instructions for the connected security system. Note the output type, maximum currents/voltages, circuit type (NO or NC) and start/stop features. Connect the outputs on the tamper monitor to a 24-hour NC security system input and the emergency code output on the corresponding NO input. Connect all security systems to a common GND (output 15) to prevent malfunctions. 42

44 An inter-lock system requires at least two code locks. In this example, two DK-9523 devices are connected. Output 13 is connected to output 14 on the other device. Both devices must be connected to the same GND (-) via output 15. This prevents the second door from opening when the first door is opened. If desired, the green LED can be connected to indicate the door status. A keypad is placed next to each door on the outside of the room. A door opener is placed next to each door inside the room. The door sensors are connected to the keypad next to each door. Configure the lock type for each door ( Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure ) using program code 66. Output 2 is independent and can be connected to other systems (e.g. security systems or automatic devices). Refer to the instructions for examples 1 and Useful tips for auxiliary features a) Tamper monitor (NC) The contact between pin 1 and pin 2 is normally closed (NC). This contact is broken if the device is forced open. The contacts can be integrated into a 24-hour surveillance system for comprehensive monitoring. The connections can be left unconnected. 24-HOUR SECURITY SYSTEM 44

45 b) Door sensor When a position sensor (NC - typical magnet sensor) is connected to the door, the code lock can be configured to do the following: Automatically disable access The sensor contact is broken when the door is opened. The outputs on the door lock are disabled to prevent unauthorized access, even when the preset timer has not elapsed. Forced door alarm The code lock triggers an alarm when the sensor contact is broken without using the door opener or a correct access code. The alarm will sound for 60 seconds, or until a correct access code is entered. Use program code 80 to enable the alarm. Open door alarm The code lock triggers an alarm if the door is not closed within the preset time. Use program code 9 to configure how long the door can stay open before the alarm goes off (1 999 seconds). Communication between code locks: Output 14 is switched to GND when the door is opened. This prevents other code locks from accessing the door. MAGNETIC DOOR CONTACT DOOR SENSOR 45

46 c) Keypad entry This NPN transistor (open collector with a maximum current of 100 ma at 24 V/DC) can be used to transfer a signal to other devices when a button is pressed, or when an alarm is triggered after the door is forced open. Keypad-Alarm (K): Output 8 is switched to GND (-) for 10 seconds each time a button is pressed. This can be used to turn on lighting and surveillance cameras or send messages (e.g. to security staff). Ensure that there there is sufficient galvanic isolation between the (low) control voltage of the keypad and the (high) backlight voltage. Limit the maximum current to <100 ma. External components cannot be powered by the keypad s power supply. The keypad can only be used to switch these components on and off. CABLE HARNESS CABLE HARNESS PIEZO BUZZER (WITH LOW POWER CONSUMP- TION) d) Emergency code output When the emergency code is entered, output 16 (NON open collector transistor) is switched to GND(-). The output delivers a maximum current of 100 ma at 24 V/DC. It can be used to trigger an alarm/siren or automatically notify security personnel. Do not combine the connection options shown here.
