4 Special Details performed by fire personnel: : First Day of Spalding County Fire Department s 42 nd Rookie School : Engine 6 checked on hydrant markers for the Highland Mill Village area : Engine 3, Squad 3, Engine 7, Squad 7, Engine 2, Engine 1, Engine 6, Engine 4 assisted with Statewide Tornado Drills at Spalding County Schools : Firefighter Berry and Firefighter Kimbell took Firefighter II testing at Southern Crescent : Engine 7 personnel enroute to HDQ for training with Rookies : Griffin Fire was placed on standby due to quint being out of service for maintenance : Chief West, Chief Polk and Lt. White attended the Spalding High Career Day : Charlie of Red Cross here to change equipment in vehicles. Personnel assisted with moving equipment : A CERT instructor meeting was held at Headquarters to discuss scheduling for the upcoming program at Spalding High School : Chief Polk held an Honor Guard Orientation and Policies meeting at Headquarters station : The Pilot Club of Griffin brought homemade goods to show appreciation for the firefighters. 5 : Office of Homeland Security hosted a National Weather Service webinar for the potential of winter weather at the Human Resources conference room : The recruits burned in the burn building and HQ personnel along with Squad 3 and Squad 7 assisted in training : Melissa Jackson submitted Firefighter Candidate Initial Registration form to the Georgia Firefighter Training Academy for new recruits : Chief West and Chief Polk presented an Emergency Preparedness presentation to 21 Sumika Polymer Compounds America, Inc, employees at 121 Hudson Industrial Dr, Griffin, GA : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk attended the staff meeting : Chief Clark and Chief Polk met with John Hamilton of Griffin Fire concerning quarterly automatic aid training, tornado forms, and ISO ladder records : Captain Willie Lyons attended Insurance Service Organization (ISO) Training at GPSTC : Chief West and Chief Polk attended the National Weather Service webinar concerning the potential for winter weather this weekend : Chief West and Chief Polk attended the National Weather Service webinar concerning the potential for winter weather this weekend : Larry Rothermel of GEBCORP here to meet with fire department personnel regarding retirement plans : Chief West and Chief Polk attended tabletop exercise with the Griffin Spalding County School system : Chief West and Chief Polk attended a National Weather Service webinar for the potential of winter weather : Chief West and Chief Polk attended the Griffin Spalding Public Safety meeting : Sun City Golf course response plan was given to Sheriff Beam of Sheriff Office, Barbara Lights of 911 and Capt., Hamilton of Griffin Fire. 6 : Engine 4, 6, Squad 3, and Squad 7 along with 501, Battalion 1, and unit 228 went to Sun City to check and/or install smoke detectors from 09:00 hrs. until 12:30 hrs : Engine 4 and Squad 7 reported to Headquarters to train with the recruits at the burn building : Unit 204 attended funeral detail in Barnesville to honor the late Spalding County Deputy Howard Jones : Spalding County Office of Homeland Security hosted an Information and Essential Support Function workshop at the Health Department training room : Chief West, Chief Clark and Chief Polk assisted with Battalion Chief Interviews : Chief West and Chief Polk presented the orientation for the CERT program to two classes at Spalding High School : Chief West and Chief Polk attended webinar for upcoming winter weather potential for Tuesday : Chief Polk notified GEMA of the Bomb Threat incident at Carver Road Middle School : The Emergency Operations planning meeting hosted by the Spalding County Office of Homeland Security at the Spalding County Health Department. Griffin and Spalding County agencies along with GEMA participated : Girl Scout Troop reported to Headquarters station for a Fire Safety House demonstration and Station Tour until 18:30 hours.
