2 3.1 Research development to produce organic propagating materials of olive local varieties General objectives 1. Standardization of organic substrates based on compost and organic fertilizers, for the production of self rooted and grafted olive plants in the certification phases (conservation, premultiplication, multiplication and nursery) following EU regulations 2. Validation of the most promising organic substrates under nursery conditions in comparison with the traditional nursery substrates for olive production. 3. Reduce the use of peat moss in the substrate composition 4. Evaluation of the biological preventive control of Verticillium dahliae by introducing antagonists (Bacteria or Fungi) in the organic substrate under experimental conditions 5. Validation of the biological control under nursery conditions.

4 Results of the experiment 1 Olive seedling growth was enhanced treating by the antagonists. A significant reduction of the inoculum density of V. dahliae was reported in soil mixtures amended with Guanito. Guanito 2 and 3 percent were phytotpxex f

9 3.1 Research development to produce organic propagating materials of olive local varieties To evaluate the effect the organic soil mixture and the antagonists in all the experiments the assessed parameters were: Inoculum density of V. dahliae microsclerotia in the soil (Traditional method). Plant height (measured monthly) Plant weight and wood infection at the end of experiment Root weight and infection at the end of experiment Root infection by Nested Scorpion Real time PCR Soil mixture analyze (structure, macro and microelements). Assay Nitrogen, phosphor and potassium in the leaf.
