1 th West Olive MI (616) Fax (616) Orders (800) For several years Bartels Plants Inc. has been working with, and supplying plants for various organizations' plant sales. The following information will hopefully be helpful to anyone interested in organizing a successful plant sale. Date Selection: Selecting a date for the plant sale is the place to start and due to an everincreasing number of sales the earlier that a date is selected, the better. We hold dates for an organization that held a sale the previous year until February 1st, (dates held are in respect to Mothers day i.e. if your sale was the Wednesday before Mothers Day then we hold Wednesday before Mothers day.) Give us a call, if you have not done so, to schedule or confirm your organization s sale date. Ordering Plants: Enclosed is a Fundraiser Order Form, your final order that is placed with Bartels Plants Inc. must be on our Order Form. Deviations from this form must be pre approved by Brian. Orders of pot plants are for full cases only, additionally there can be no mixing of colors, or variety of plant in the case. Any number entered will indicate a full case of the item. Final orders are due 10 days prior to ship date. We do our best to send exactly what is desired, but occasionally we must substitute colors. Usually this is a result of crop problems which we do our best to avoid, but with any live commodity the unforeseen does occur, the earlier we know what is wanted the better we can deal with your order. Color Selection: We ask that you either offer all the colors that we list on our order form or not offer color specific choices. Offering only two or three colors leads to problems through the course of a season. Order Size: For the week preceding Mother s Day we have a minimum order size of 400 units in place. A unit is defined as one flat, one case, or one hanging basket; any combination of those can be used to reach the minimum. This minimum is basically a ½ truckload. Plant sales that do not reach this number should be planned for after Mother s Day. Organizations that order less than total of $2000 will be subject to a $150 delivery charge. Delivery of Plants We will deliver the plants to whatever location you desire. Deliveries should be as early in the day as possible, before 9 a.m. This limits the amount of time that the plants are kept inside a hot truck with no ventilation. Having sufficient help for unloading is also essential as taking the order off the truck can be time consuming. Traffic problems can cause delays, but we do our best to be on time.
