Professional Peat Lite Mixes All Sunshine mixes contain dolomitic lime to adjust media ph to and to provide calcium and magnesium. Gypsum is added as a source of sulfur and calcium. SunCoir is a renewable peat moss substitute derived from coconuts. This is the newest raw material introduced into the MetroMix product line. SunCoir pith has all the water holding and cation exchange benefits of peat moss plus improved aeration, improved wetout and rewet capabilities and reduced shrinkage in the pot. SunCoir Bricks Bricks are compressed at a 5:1 ratio and measure approximately 8 x 4 x 3. They are palletized and shipped 1,500 per pallet. One brick yields approximately 0.4 cubic feet when wetted to 80% moisture. One pallet will yield approximately 18 cubic yards. This nutrient starter charge provides a dilute, balanced nutritional environment for seed germination and/or early seedling growth. In peat based media, the nutrient starter will provide sufficient fertility for 714 days. The recommended grower application of a dilute complete fertilizer is at ppm at wet down or immediately after plant germination or transplanting. For subirrigation systems, test a sample of the mix being considered to determine its suitability for your application.. Made with Canadian sphagnum peat moss, perlite and/or vermiculite.
