4 PADANA SEMENTI ELETTE is a company that has been manufacturing and marketing seeds for generations, and has been committed to the professional turfgrass sector for the last 0 years, constantly striving to improve. The results achieved thanks to this commitment have been translated into high quality products that are marked: TOP CLASS professional turfgrasses. The factors that distinguish TOP CLASS products are summarised in the following points: RESEARCH and EXPERIMENTATION TOP CLASS line products were conceived by constantly innovative-oriented work. Partnerships with external research laboratories were strategic for this purpose that allowed reliable and stringent results to be achieved, essential in selecting the best varieties and offering continuously innovative solutions. Even the most recent American varieties, in fact, must be tested in our environmental conditions to check not only their adaptability but also their suitability for increasingly more sustainable turf management. Tests and experimental projects have been in progress for the last eight years at the University of Padua that have led to top level scientific results. In 0, some of these, that will be an essential reference for the future of mixtures with tall fescue, were published in the leading American scientific magazine Crop Science (Macolino, S.; Pignata, G.; Giolo, M.; Richardson, M.. Succession and Turf Quality of Tall Fescue and Kentucky Bluegrass Mixtures as Affected By Mowing Height. Crop Sci. 0. :0 6). Thanks to what we learned in the experiment, according to the data we were able to select, data in hand, the best varieties to formulate innovative mixtures that are taking real steps ahead in the ornamental and sports turfgrass sector. QUALITY CONTROL Padana Sementi Elette is the only Italian seed company in the turfgrass sector to implement an efficient QUALITY CONTROL. This occurs by monitoring the entire production chain with two instruments: the ISO 900 certified quality control management system; an internal laboratory accredited at CREA-SCS (ex ENSE), with highly qualified personnel to control every incoming seed lot, specifically checking germinability and real purity with specific controls on Poa annua and Lolium multiflorum. Registration Number: IT-0
5 TECHNOLOGY The company has a latest generation mixing and bagging system that guarantees high mixture homogeneity from the first to the last bag and fast and total cleanliness of all elements from one mix to the next (total lack of mix seed contamination with different compositions). PARTNERSHIPS Padana Sementi Elette has entertained significant partnerships over the years on the global level with seed companies, geneticists and research centres. EVENTS Organising FIELD DAYS has provided the public with closer looks at the value of research and appreciate the quality of the new crops, while sales and technical staff is always on hand to work with customers in the organisation of technical and training seminars. WEB INFO, SOCIAL NETWORKS Newsletters with helpful tips for turf Professionals are periodically sent by and published on our website on Facebook and Instagram (@padanasementi). STAFF Padana Sementi Elette STAFF is the youngest and most dynamic among Italian seed compagnies, able to convey an attractive mix of technical and sales professionalism with their enthusiasm, always ready to assimilate the new needs that emerge from a continuously and quickly changing market in advance. Finding tailored solutions to different customer needs that vary from region to region is the essence of this team's work!
6 SEED MIXED WITH MICORRHIZA AND BIO-ACTIVATORS The reduction of chemical and agronomic inputs has become a priority and a need for ornamental turfgrasses. Ahead of the times, Padana Sementi Elette, sensitive to topics of sustainability and reducing environmental impact, in line with that foreseen by PAN, was the first sector company to propose, in 0, mixtures combined with mycorrhizal fungi. Innovation continues in 06 with the exclusive offer of mixtures coated with concentrated bio-activator. PRODUCTS WITH MYCORRHIZED SEEDS WILL BE MARKED WITH BRAND WHAT ARE BIO-ACTIVATORS? - Concentrated bio-activators, directly mixed with seeds, reactivate soil fertility and optimise biological and chemical synthesis organic residue degradation. They also stimulate root growth and efficiency and improve the microbiological soil balance to benefit the lawn. - They efficiently establish symbiotic activity between helpful microorganisms and plants, that promote root growth and functions and increase plant resistance to environmental stress. - They are a combination of: mycorrhiza and microbial flora (Glomus spp., Gigaspora, Rhizopogon, Trichoderma spp., Bacillus spp.); precious natural enzymatic components (cellulase, hemicellulase, alpha-amylase, beta-amylase, pentosans, glucoamylase, protease, phosphorylase, pullulanase, pectynase, beta-glucanase, lipase, endochitinase, esochitinase, polyphenol oxidase, etc.); active principles of plant origin with high biological activity. WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES: They are essential instruments for sustainable turf management according to the National Action Plan. They promote growth and root functionality. They regenerate soil near the rhizosphere. They improve microbiological soil balance. They increase plant resistance to stress and water unbalances. Bioactivated seeds are identified by the colour (see photo) with non-toxic pigments. Mixtures already combined with mycorrhizal fungi and bio-activators RIGENERVIT PROF NEW BLUE LEX PLUS SPORTPLAY SR All the other TOP CLASS line mixtures can also be micorrhized upon request. 6
7 BIO-ACTIVATED SEEDS UNTREATED SEEDS In vitro test, seeds combinated with bio-activators: after only seven days of experimentation, a protective shield against parasitic fungi can be appreciated around the bioactivated seeds. The parasitic fungi (yellow and black spots) are blocked by antagonistic fungi (white colonies spread from each coated seed) in the not colonized spaces, unlike the untreated sample. Experimental field at University of Padua 7
