Exhibits in the Floriculture Department must have been grown by the exhibitor within the area defined in Local Rule #7, except divisions for arrangements. ARTISTIC DESIGN RULES: 1. Accessories or decorative foliage is permitted in the arrangement and will be furnished by the exhibitor. Accessories may not be placed around the arrangement. Every reasonable precaution will be taken to assure the safe return of these items; however, no responsibility is assumed for loss or damage. See Local Rule #1. 2. Accessories and vases should be marked with the name of the owner, but markings must not show when accessories are in place in the display. 3. All arrangements must be assembled by the exhibitor, not to exceed 24 square, no height restriction. Special size requirements for miniatures listed below or noted in description. 4. The use of artificial or dried flowers or foliage, tissue, or crepe paper will not be permitted except in dry flower arrangements where dry flowers are required. 5. Fresh flowers must be used in all arrangements and miniatures. Flowers must be groomed (brown petals, dead leaves, water marks removed). Rose Arrangement - using dried roses as the predominate material DIVISION 2 OPEN SILK ARRANGEMENT 1. Celebration -Arrangement using accessories and novelties to depict a celebration. Celebration must be named on a place card not to exceed 3in x 5in 2. Compliments - use of flowers opposite on the color wheel 3. Victorian - arrangements appropriate to or depicting the Victorian Era 4. Anything goes - your choice of container.

Potted and hanging plants must be owned by the exhibitor at least 60 days prior to the opening day of the Fair. 2. Pre-entry is not required, but preferred. Cut flowers to be entered day of exhibits. 2. When the number of plants or cut flow ers in a class is indicated, the use of more or less plants or cut flowers in display will disqualify the entry. 3. Uniform containers will be furnished by the management for cut flowers. 4. Flower specimens must have their own foliage. No dyed fresh flowers or imitation or artificial plant material. 5. Recommend cutting flowers in early morning, immersing in lukewarm water, 100 degrees, and using a teaspoon of sugar or Floral Life. Place in refrigerator overnight. 6. Exhibitors will not be permitted in the immediate vicinity of the judging area during judging. 7. The management reserves the right, after judging is completed, to remove, freshen or replace any exhibit. 8. If specific attention is needed in some way of watering, please advise the Supervisor. 9. Potted plants, arrangements and hanging plants to be preregistered. CUT FLOWERS Flowers must have been grown by exhibitor. Entries will be thrown out at the end of each show. Stems may be composed of more than one flower.
