New breeding programs Planteck is pleased to announce that we are working with several peony breeders to bring even more new, high quality peonies to the market. These breeding programs focus on both Itoh and herbaceous peonies.

2 NEW ARRIVALS IN 2012 CANARY BRILLIANTS 2 Don t be fooled by the name because this is not just another yellow. The semi-double blooms start off as a buttery yellow with an apricot center and brighten as they age. Floriferous with the excellent foliage typical of the Itohs. APS Award of Landscape Merit JOANNA MARLENE These semi-double blooms will keep you entertained as they change from apricot to yellow and from yellow to cream. One of the breeder s favorites, it may be yours as well. OSIRIS - TOURBILLON A tourbillon is a whirl of movement in French and describes the lanceolate satin purple petals whirling around a bright yellow crown of stamens. This variety is a sport of Morning Lilac selected by a breeder on our team.

3 NEW ARRIVALS IN 2012 SIMPLY RED 3 This beautiful deep red variety was previously only known as red double seedling. We have had great success with this one in tissue culture and thought that it was high time to give it a name. Be among the first to add Simply Red to your collection. UNIQUE The name says it all, a unique blend of red with underlying purple that diffuses out of the picotee edges of the single blooms. The strong foliage and carpels make for an attractive plant right through to autumn. ESTRELLIA A stunning herbaceous with full double, deep red blooms on strong stems with great potential as a cut flower. This a first introduction from one of our breeders. BARTZELLA A vigorous plant with an abundance of huge semidouble to double lemon yellow blooms and small red flares that just glow in the afternoon sun. The large, well-formed blossoms carried high above the lush green foliage also make good cut flowers. With a lemony fragrance, this is a perennial favourite. BERRY GARCIA Yellow stamens stand out against the dark pink flares and lighter pink background of this beauty. A semi-double flower on a sturdy bush looking for that special place in your garden. CALLIE S MEMORY These are lovely, semi-double blooms in a creamy yellow with maroon flares and picotee edges. It has good plant habit and foliage as well as long stems for cutting. 5 CORA LOUISE 5 Large, white semi-double blooms with deep lavender to purple flares are reminiscent of Paeonia rockii. Strong stems hold the bloom above the dark green foliage. Along with a pleasant fragrance, this is an appealing flower for the garden or the vase. FIRST ARRIVAL These large semi-double pink blooms have attractive lavender overtones and flares. Along with Morning Lilac, these are the first of the Anderson Itohs to bloom. IMPOSSIBLE DREAM Flowers are very deep, attractive pink when first open and fade as flowers mature to a beautiful silvery pink. Large semi-double to double blooms up to 8 inches (20 cm). Very strong upright stems are evidence of its tree peony heritage. JULIA ROSE Single to semi-double blooms which open cherry red on to orange and later yellow as the flowers mature. The result is an attractive mix of variously coloured blooms on one plant. Very vigorous and floriferous. KOPPER KETTLE Semi-double to double tri-color blooms of red, yellow and orange give this flower an overall coppery appearance. Dark green foliage and a sturdy bushy shape make for a handsome addition to the garden.

NORWEGIAN BLUSH A blush pink single with dark pink flares, these flowers could be mistaken for magnolias. Delicate in appearance, these flowers are well supported by strong foliage.

The red-tipped carpels surrounded by a ring of yellow stamens vary in shape and number and make for an interesting center even after the petals have dropped. SEQUESTERED SUNSHINE Single to semi-double sulphur yellow flowers with red tipped carpels and red flares are held well above the dark green foliage. Vigorous and floriferous, the long stems also make good cut flowers.

This is a large light yellow semi-double flower with lavender flares that seems to float on a deep green pond like a waterlily.
