It can enrich life, instill hope, and free the human spirit even when a person is confined. No wonder an atheistic gover nment would fear its power and put it in a class with guns and drugs. In today s Scriptur e the psalmist r efers to some of the power ful ef fects of the Word of God on his life. It r evives his soul (v.25); it impar ts inner str ength (v.28); it guides him into truth (v.30); and it enlarges his heart (v.32). We who are blessed with both the Old and New Testaments have God s full and fi nal written r evelation of Himself. When we mediatate on the truths of this powerful book, we experience its impact on our lives by the indwelling Holy Spirit, who makes it r eal to us.
