6 Shades Information Measuring Inside Mount: Measure the exact width and height of the window opening. It is a good idea to check the inside width at the top, middle and bottom of the window. The factory will deduct 1/2 from the width for clearance on all shades ordered as Inside Mount. Outside Mount: Measure the exact width and height of the area you want to cover. The shade should overlap the window opening or trim by at least 3 in width and height. Relaxed and London Shade Notes: Both the Relaxed Roman and the London Shades tend to toe-in noticeably at the bottom. Inside Mounts, 2-on-1 s and 3-on-1 s are not recommended. The height of a Relaxed Roman and a London Shade is the short point of the smile. Soft Roller Shade Measuring - Use a metal tape measure only. - Round to the nearest 1/16. INSIDE MOUNT: Width: Measure the exact width of the window opening at the top, where the brackets will be mounted. Be precise and round to the nearest 1/16th of an inch. The workroom will deduct 1/8 (from the tip-to-tip size) to allow for clearance. Important: Due to the hardware requirements, there are significant light gaps at the edge of all roller shades. For spring roller shades, there is a 1/2 gap on each side and for clutch roller shades there is a 5/8 gap on each side. To avoid these light gaps, consider an Outside Mount. Height: Measure the actual height of the window. The workroom will add fabric for roll up allowance. OUTSIDE MOUNT: Width: Measure at the top of the window where the brackets will be placed. Height For Outside Mount, order as Cloth Measurement and provide the total width the fabric should cover. A 1-1/2 to 2 overlap on each side is recommended to stop light gaps. Height: Measure the actual height of the window. The workroom will add fabric for roll up allowance. Care Instructions Steaming the Shade Like every fabric treatment, a brand new Horizons window fashion right out of the box may have wrinkles. Many of the wrinkles will simply hang out after a few days. However, for best results, we recommend steaming your shade once it is installed. Cleaning We suggest periodic vacuuming with a soft brush attachment. Wet cleaning of any shade is highly discouraged, especially those with a cotton content. 7 Drapery & Side Panel Information Measuring Freight Saver Shipping (Net Pricing) Outside Mount Outside mounted treatments will be made to the exact dimensions provided. Width: Measure the exact width of the window, including any frame. Add a minimum of 4 to each side (8 total overlap) to ensure light control and privacy. Refer to the drapery stacking chart on page B13 for approximate stacking dimensions. Height: Measure the height of the window from the top edge of the molding to the bottom edge of the molding, sill or floor. Add a minimum of 4 to allow for an adequate mounting area above the window. Inside Mount Provide the exact sizes of the opening. The workroom will make all necessary deductions for a perfect fit. Width: Measure inside the window casing at the top, middle and bottom. Record the narrowest measurement. No deduction will be taken on width. Height: Measure inside the window casing at the left, center and right. Record the shortest measurement. Horizons s workroom will take a 3/4 deduction on the height. Installation Horizons Draperies and Side Panels are shipped at Freight$aver rates to all states in the continental U.S.A. Draperies Rates are based on the width of the drapery. Cost is per drape. Pleated draperies will arrive fan-folded, banded, covered in heavy duty bags and boxed for shipping. For installation, draperies will need to be professionally dressed and steamed to look their best. A professional drapery installer may be found in the yellow pages or on the internet. Note: It is normal for pleated draperies to be banded by the installer to create even folds in the fabric. These bands may remain on the drapery for up to 3 days. This banding process will train the pleats to fold properly when the drapery is opened or closed. Note: Use caution when steaming fabrics made from silk. Care and Cleaning It is recommended that Horizons Draperies & Side Panels be vacuumed periodically with a drapery hose attachment. Professional cleaning is strictly recommended for all Horizons Drapery Panels. A professional drapery cleaner may be found in the yellow pages or on the internet. B72 January 2013

8 Premium Top Treatments Information outside width Measuring Premium Top Treatments Freight Saver Shipping (Net Pricing) Board Mounted (Outside Mount): Measure the width of the window plus trim, then add a minimum of 3 inches. Rod Mounted (Outside Mount): Measure the width of the window plus trim, then add a minimum of 4 inches. When ordering a pole, please refer to the measuring terms on pages C55 - C63. Board Mounted (Inside Mount): Premium Top Treatments are recommended for outside mount only. If inside mount is necessary, please contact customer service for a Design Modification. Rod Mounted (Inside Mount): Not recommended. Measuring Casual Valances Outside Mount Measure the width of the trim (or window opening if no trim) and add 3 inches. Inside Mount Measure the exact window opening at the top. The standard bracket can be used for inside mount. Minimum depth (in front of any inside mounted treatment) is 1 inch. Flush mount depth (in front of any Inside Mounted treatment) is 3 inches. Installation Premium Top Treatments (V1 - V30) Horizons Premium Top Treatments are shipped at Freight$aver rates to all states in the continental U.S.A. These are NET rates. Welting: Standard welting is one-quarter inch. One-half inch welting is available upon request at no extra charge. Unless specified otherwise, the welting will be made in the same color as the pillow. Contrasting welt color is available at no extra charge. C.O.M. Trims: Customer s own trims are priced the same as Decorative Trimmings and require no additional C.O.M. charges.
