2 Carpet Design Awards 2019 Presented in partnership with HALI and COVER magazines, the Carpet Design Awards are one of the central attractions of the handmade rug halls at DOMOTEX and a trusted benchmark for the modern carpet industry. For 2019, the exciting new keynote theme for DOMOTEX is CREATE'N'CONNECT, focusing on the social megatrend of connectivity. The 2019 keynote theme CREATE'N'CONNECT is a response to the way we communicate today and how connectivity affects every aspect of how we live, work and interact. Flooring has an impact on how we connect with the world; it orientates us and sets the stage for human interaction. The return of DOMOTEX s new layout, unveiled in 2018, will see the theme of connectivity running through the halls, linking ideas, designs and businesses. The CDA will remain in its new setting of Hall 9, where it will again join the special display area Framing Trends. Innovative design and interior trends will be artistically staged and displayed offering you a fantastic opportunity to profile your business and present your latest products to an international trade audience. The world s leading rug design competition is only open to exhibitors, giving participants a great opportunity to maximise their participation in DOMOTEX The CDA jury consists of leading experts from the design and carpet industry, who together create a shortlist of three entries in each of the eight categories. These carpets are then given pride of place during the fair in the dedicated presentation area in Hall 9. A winner from each category will be announced on Saturday 12 January 2019 at the well-attended awards ceremony. 2

The first stage occurs in early November and will create a shortlist of three entries per category, which are subsequently shown in the special display area Framing Trends in Hall 9. The shortlist is judged on Thursday 10 January to assign a winner for each category. For 2019, the first round of CDA judging will feature three extra judges Michael Pourvakil (Weavers Art), James Ffrench (Beauvais Carpets) and Matthew Bourne (Christopher Farr) who will bring their rug industry expertise to the process of shortlisting the best rugs. Michael Mandapati will be the Chair Person of the Jury. Judging criteria will be: Design/Design Concept Material/Execution/Structure/Quality/Originality Submit your entries online Participating in the Carpet Design Awards is easy. You will find all the information you need to enter online. The entry forms are to be filled in online with high resolution images attached. A maximum of 3 entries per category is allowed. Just go to shop.domotex.de. The CDA is integrated in the DOMOTEX Shop of Deutsche Messe so you should use the log in details sent to you with your stand confirmation. The CDA entry form is located in the Exhibitor Content Management System (ECMS) under Highlighting your company. Participants in Category 01 will get separate log on details upon request.
