2 Introduction Metallised blinds can provide the ideal solution to solar control problems in commercial buildings and at home by its unique and colour independent combination of glare, heat control and view through. Significant energy savings and productivity gains can be achieved sustainable product. Use of high performance blinds can allow for reduction in capital costs of cooling plant and special glazing. Important indications for a good solar protection are: High reflection Openness factor Low light transmission (only slightly higher than openness factor) On sunlit facades light transmission <7%
