5 WILSONART THE COMPANY Wilsonart International was founded in 1956 in Texas, USA, by Ralph Wilson, Sr., a retired laminate industry executive. There were 12 laminate companies operating in the American market, and Wilson had no intention of trying to compete with them. He simply wanted a hobby.
