1 University of Bristol Specification for Builder s Cleans The following document provides minimum cleaning standards expected by the University of Bristol, following: new builds, major building work and refurbishment. This work will be arranged and be the responsibility of the main building contractor. It is recommended that this work is sub-contracted to a specialist cleaning company. Any queries regarding standards should be addressed through the University Site Services Department. All equipment and janitorial supplies must be provided by the contractor; UOB equipment must not be used or borrowed. Rooms: Offices, Teaching Rooms, Laboratories, Etc. Fixtures, fittings and low Furniture (This includes loose and built in furniture) Remove plaster, paint, and glue. Fixtures and dusted using a neutral detergent. Furniture will be damp dusted both inside (cupboards and drawers) and out and free from packaging materials. from removable dust, dirt, paint, plaster splashes, stickers and labels, packaging, and have a smear free Furniture should be free of removable dust and grime. Inside and out and have a smear free High Dusted and vacuumed if High should be free from dust, debris, paint, plaster splashes, stickers, and have a smear free Carpets Vacuum thoroughly and spot clean where Remove plaster, paint, and glue. Vacuum thoroughly, wash, machine scrub and polish if All carpeted areas shall be free of paint, glue, dirt, dust and stains.
