After taking in the sites of Casablanca and Rabat, you ll head for the Roman ruins of Volublis and the old imperial city of Meknes, the historic capital of Moulay Ismail. The journey then continues towards Fez, one of the oldest and most complete medieval cities in the world, where you ll have time to wander its winding streets before heading out along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and into the dunes and oases of the Sahara. Next is Marrakech and its labyrinthine medina, which offers up a setting straight from the pages of the Arabian Nights. Here you ll have some time to enjoy the unique delights of its famous Djemma El Fna, before turning west towards the Atlantic coast and the charming fortified town of Essaouira. 3 ITINERARY DAY 1: CASABLANCA On arrival in Casablanca transfer to your hotel. DAY 2: CASABLANCA - RABAT Morning guided tour of Casablanca and drive to Rabat to see the ancient Roman ruins and Mosques. (B) DAY 3: RABAT - FEZ Explore the Roman city Volubilis, the shrine town of Moulay Idriss, and the Imperial city of Meknes. (B) DAY 4: FEZ Guided tour of Fez taking in the palaces, religious sites and everyday life. Afternoon at leisure. (B) DAY 5: FEZ - MIDELT - ERFOUD Today take a trip from the middle and high atlas mountains down to the Lalla Mergouza dunes. (B) DAY 6: ERFOUD - TINEGHIR - OUARZAZATE Visit the palace of Ksar d'akhbar before journeying along an ancient road to the Dades Valley. (B,D)

4 DAY 7: OUARZAZATE - MARRAKESH Discover some traditional Kasbahs including Ait Ben Haddou, before driving over the Atlas Mountains. (B) DAY 8: MARRAKESH Morning guided tour of Marrakesh. Afternoon spent wondering the labyrinth of Djemma El Fna. (B) DAY 9: MARRAKESH - ESSAOUIRA Head west to Essaouira, one of Morocco's most pleasing towns. Afternoon at leisure. (B) DAY 10: ESSAOUIRA Day at leisure. Stroll along the beach and see the mornings catch being cooked by the harbour. (B) DAY 11: ESSAOUIRA - MARRAKESH Leaving the charms of Essaouira, it's back to Marrakesh for a bit of shopping in the souks. (B) DAY 12: MARRAKESH Tour ends after breakfast. (B)

5 ACCOMMODATION CASABLANCA CASABLANCA LE LIDO THALASSO & SPA Previously Riad Salam, Le Lido Thalasso & Spa is a modern 4 star resort located on the seaside and minutes from the Hassan II Mosque. It comprises of 195 rooms including an executive studio apartment and a royal suite. All feature a private balcony overlooking the sea, the pool or the tropical gardens and include flat-screen TV and mini-bar. The hotel has several restaurants serving Moroccan and international cuisine as well as two bars. It also boasts Africa s first thalassotherapy with sea water treatments and a large swimming pool. ERFOUD KASBAH XALUCA MAADID The Kasbah Xaluca Maadid is located on the edge of the desert, three kilometres from Erfoud. This new four star hotel has been built in a traditional kasbah-style using authentic centuries-old building methods and materials. Packed with Moroccan pottery, traditional lamps and authentic artefacts it has tremendous character and taste. The bedrooms are decorated in warm pastel colours and soft furnishings, and equipped with modern facilities. Other facilities include a palm-fringed outdoor swimming pool, an indoor pool and jacuzzi, a hammam and two restaurants. ESSAOUIRA

6 RIAD MIMOUNA Adjacent to the port and overlooking the ocean, Riad Mimouna is located in the Sandillon district, at the far end of Essaouira medina. This historic converted windmill features 33 traditionally themed rooms with rich, sumptuous Moroccan decor and traditionally handcrafted wooden beams and furnishings. All rooms have balconies, televisions and telephones. Traditional Moroccan fare with seafood and fish specialities is served on the terrace overlooking the sea. The riad also offers hammam, sauna and massage. FEZ RIAD DAR EL ANDALOUS Centrally located in the Batha district of Fez and owned by a friendly Moroccan couple, this beautiful mansion was first built in the early 20th century and later converted into an intricate riad. All 12 rooms and suites are tastefully decorated with local artefacts and colourful fabrics, each featuring a different theme. In-room facilities include air conditioning, cable TV and mini bar. After a busy day sightseeing you may want to enjoy a cup of mint tea in the lovely courtyard or pay a visit to the in-house hammam. The roof terrace restaurant serves Moroccan cuisine and organizes cooking classes for guests who wish to learn the secrets of the world famous Fassi tradition. MARRAKECH RIAD KSAR ANIKA The continuously praised Ksar Anika is beautifully designed taking on the rich tradition of the classic Riad whilst adding a lighter touch of space, light, peace and tranquillity. 7 RIAD KALAA Built in 1815 and on a quiet narrow street in the medina, the Riad Kalaa is a lovely little boutique hotel with a mix of Andalusian and Moroccan design. Set around an indoor courtyard, the 11 rooms have traditional Moroccan features such as large wooden doors and intricate lanterns as well as modern comforts like air conditioning, Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. The central courtyard makes for a lovely spot to enjoy some Moroccan mint tea or a meal, or guests can simply relax in the comfortable roof terrace area with views over the surrounding rooftops and of the outdoor pool. The Riad also has its own small spa with various massages and treatments available. SKOURA LES JARDINS DE SKOURA This delightful renovated kasbah situated in the palm groves of Skoura, oozes with traditional style and is one of the regions most sought after properties.
