2 Stephen Kenn is a Los Angeles based design studio with a focus on furniture and leather goods. Driven by curiosity, Stephen takes a thoughtful and optimistic approach to his work, believing there is always a way to make things simpler. He begins all design projects by seeking out good materials and experimenting with new processes.

3 The Inheritance Collection Designed and made in Los Angeles In 2011 Stephen Kenn created The Inheritance Collection with a view to simplify upholstered furniture by exposing the structure and using minimal materials. Each piece begins as a plated steel frame with supporting belts composed of cotton webbing and leather. The feather down pillows and foam seat cushions are upholstered with canvas, wool or leather. In 2016 the collection was expanded to include a dining table and chair, a bed, and several smaller tables. The collection is produced entirely in Los Angeles and Stephen is present for every step of the production process, from first sketch to completed piece. Using sustainable materials and practicing responsible manufacturing have always been essential parts of Stephen s design work with The Inheritance Collection.

Sofa paired with a Bench, where bench can function as a chaise style extension on either side, or as an ottoman. 03. Loveseat with an arm added to one side and Chaise Lounge with an arm added on opposite side. 04. Loveseat paired with a Chaise Lounge, where Chaise can be positioned on either right or left side of the Loveseat. 05. Loveseat with two Chaise Lounges, each with an arm added. The seating pieces in The Inheritance Collection are all the same depth, allowing for modular configurations. By connecting Loveseats, Sofas, Benches and Chaise Lounges a variety of sectional style sofas can be made. The pieces can be used independently of each other, or connected with leather cuffs on the frames. 06. Two Sofas connected to a Loveseat to create a large C shaped sectional.

17 Inheritance Three Piece Sofa Created for clients that have small elevators, narrow staircases, or tight doorways, this version of the Inheritance Sofa breaks down into three pieces to allow for easier movement in small spaces. 20 Inheritance Wing Table The Wing Table fits on the arm of any Inheritance Sofa, Two Seat Sofa, or Armchair. Easily installed with four thumb screws. 36W 6D 6H in

21 Inheritance Expandable Dining Table A solid oak and steel dining table with a unique expandable feature. A leaf sits just beneath the table surface, and is easily spun into place allowing for expansion from 60 to 96 and seating 6-10 people comfortably. 25 Stephen Kenn + Truck Furniture In May of 2014 Stephen Kenn visited Truck Furniture in Osaka, Japan. A longtime fan of the furniture crafted at Truck, Stephen was thrilled to finally meet Truck s owner and designer Tokuhiko Kise. During the course of their conversation they discovered an unusual kinship and likeminded design philosophy. They both believe strongly in using materials that will improve with age and use, and designing pieces that are unique, but feel comfortable and familiar. The opportunity to work together came soon and they created a unique collaborative collection that was originally showcased in the Deus ex Machina store in the Harajuku neighborhood of Tokyo. The collection consists of two unique sofas based on the Inheritance Sofa design but using two signature Truck materials, an olive corduroy and a clay colored suede leather. Also in the collection is a classic Truck chair design, the Boomerang Chair + Ottoman, upholstered in Stephen Kenn s signature vintage military canvas.

28 Stephen Kenn + Danfield Leather Clay Stephen Kenn has designed a collection for Danfield Leather in Los Angeles. These vegetable tanned leathers are sustainably sourced and ecologically friendly.
