We offer several stock designs that are used by many of the largest builders, as well as our custom mantels and entertainment centers manufactured to the customer s specific needs, personalizing each project to the individual home owner s desires. Johnson Postman mantels and entertainment centers are available unfinished and ready for custom stain or paint in virtually any species of wood. We also offer a value priced line of MDF mantels enhanced with natural wood accents which are ready to finish by the homeowner or the professional. Johnson and John R. Postman. We began distributing stairparts in early 1980 and, through the efforts of Mr. Johnson and Mr.

67 Johnson Postman is a wholesale distributor of stairparts and columns, as well as a manufacturer of custom stairs and mantels. We market predominantly to retail/contractor lumber dealers and specialty millwork operators in the Pacifi c Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii. Johnson Postman was established in 1979 by Richard A. Johnson and John R. Postman. We began distributing stairparts in early 1980 and, through the efforts of Mr. Johnson and Mr. Postman, the company became the predominant force behind the stairparts renaissance in the Pacifi c Northwest. Mr. Postman retired in In April of 1992 Johnson Postman merged with Fred Nix Stair Company, which gave us stairway, stair component and mantel manufacturing capabilities. This joining of forces provided Johnson Postman an even stronger market presence and allowed us to meet increased customer service expectations. Mr. Johnson passed away in December of 1995 and today the company is owned by Pam Shafer, who joined the company in 1983, and Fred Nix. Customer service has always been our highest priority because we believe providing an excellent product is only the beginning. We strive to provide the best customer support in the industry so that the sales staff of each of our customers has the highest level of confi dence when selling our products.
