1 Invitation to a seminar on Nordic Household Lighting - Future Perspectives Copenhagen, October 5th (evening) 6th 2009 New Eco-design legislation on household lighting enters into force in September 2009, herby starting a gradual phase-out of the incandescent bulb. This introduces challenges and opportunities for lighting designers to develop new ways of illuminating indoor living spaces. Many questions may arise in the process: Which new technologies exit in the market today, and how good are they? What are the up-and-coming technologies? How do light designers from Nordic countries address the challenges? Can LED-technologies offer appropriate solutions, and when will these be broadly available? How can development projects lead to successful results? Through presentations, discussion and exhibitions, the seminar will offer answers to these and other questions. Furthermore, the seminar will open up the possibility for professionals in the Nordic countries share knowledge and benefit from each others experience.

2 Who should attend? Lighting designers are the primary target group. Producers, importers and wholesalers of lamps and luminaries, and other professionals working with lighting solutions can also benefit from the seminar. Time and venue Monday October 5 at , and Tuesday October : Radisson SAS Falconer Hotel, Falkoner Allé 9, 2000 Copenhagen. Get off at Frederiksberg Station (app. 20 minutes ride from the airport) and walk to the hotel as shown in the following map (app. 250 m): Registration Registration is required. You can register by filling out the attached registration form and sending it to anvend@ens.dk.the final date for registration is Friday, September NB: the number of places is limited. Price Participation is free of charge. However, in the event of absence a fee of 200 will be charged for participation plus the list price for a hotel room if booked. Credit card details are therefore required upon registration.

3 Accommodation Participants can stay at the Radisson SAS Falconer Hotel at a reduced seminar-rate of 1295,- DKK including breakfast. The special booking should be made by directly calling the hotel at , and stating the code Energistyrelsen block. Only a limited number of rooms is available at the reduced price.
