3 Designers and artists Stéphane and Frouwkje Pagani, the creative forces behind PaganiStudio, have partnered with Baker to create The Pagani Collection. Originally from St. Paul de Vence, France, and universityeducated in the United States, Stéphane Pagani has an architectural background that has given him an appreciation for proportion and scale. His partner and wife, Frouwkje, is American, though raised internationally, and worked in publishing as a Design and Decorating Editor for six years before joining Stéphane. the pagani collection The Pagani Collection has been created with the same design philosophy that has driven the success of the Paganis private collection careful selection of natural, exquisite materials, and use of textural, luxurious finishes with clean lines. For this collection the Paganis chose four noble materials: Murano Glass, Cast Bronze, French Plaster and Sculpted Marble. These materials are steeped in history, used for centuries by many cultures. Each must be hand-crafted by artisans who have learned specific skills handed down over generations, and whose work is a result of appreciation, sensitivity and passion. When paired with a clean sensibility and contemporary proportions, these noble materials come to life in a new and sophisticated way.

4 4 The nature of hand-blown glass is innately sculptural, as each blown piece is hand-made and unique. We infused the glass with white gold to enhance its jewel-like shimmering quality and to complement its ability to capture light. The Pagani Collection features Perla, a series of four ethereal Murano Glass designs. Steeped in history, Murano Glass has ornamented wealthy Venetian palazzos for centuries, so the Paganis were eager to explore this classic material.

8 8 From cast bronze emerges a poetic harmony when one appreciates the dialogue between the volumes and shading variations of the hand patina. The pieces in the Cast Bronze series from The Pagani Collection are expertly sand cast in Old-World technique, then finished by hand. The Paganis chose Cast Bronze for its ability to translate textural nuances with exactitude, and to take a beautiful patina and age with grace.

12 12 The simplicity and noble quality of the material, combined with its flexibility, demanded further exploration. The beauty of its sculptural possibilities, in conjunction with its purity, offered an exciting prospect. While spending time in Paris, and, in particular, Paris apartments, the Paganis rediscovered their love for white plaster moldings, objet d art and decorative motifs, and so were compelled to create the French Plaster series for The Pagani Collection.

18 18 Marble has the ability to accentuate the subtlety of an indentation as the defining detail of a classic, simple form. With the Sculpted Marble series for The Pagani Collection, the Paganis wanted to celebrate the statuary quality of marble, which has been used for centuries in sculpture its dense nature allowing for delicate carving and exquisite finishing.
