11 Sustainability and environmental social responsibility Allsorted Amenities Furniture is committed to its responsibility to preserve our natural environment and to contribute towards a sustainable future, which is why renewable resources, including Stainless Steel, Aluminium and modified woods, are used as key components in our product ranges. Aluminium Aluminium is a 100% recyclable product that does not lose its natural qualities through the recycling process. The recycling process of aluminium uses only 5% of the energy used to produce the original product from Bauxite ore. It is a lightweight, ductile, malleable metal that is resistant to corrosion. Perspex Perspex is a 100% recyclable and non-toxic material, available in a large variety of colours and thicknesses. It is stronger and more durable than glass. A relatively thin piece of perspex can carry out the same purpose as a piece of glass that is a lot thicker. A lighter weight means that transportation costs and C02 emissions are kept to a minimum. Perspex has a long life span and will, therefore, not often need to be replaced. Stainless Steel Stainless Steel is completely recyclable. It has a relatively long lifespan and once discarded, can be recycled through the recovery of its separate alloys which can be re-used for other products. Rhino Modified Wood Rhino Modified wood is an environmentally friendly alternative to hard wood as it is sourced from sustainable forests.
