2 A professional exhibition dedicated to interior finishing and solutions was held for the first time in St. Petersburg from 11 to 13 September: Design&Decor St. Petersburg. The exhibition took place in Pavilion 4 and the outside space of Lenexpo exhibition centre. 3 Design&Decor St. Petersburg was a professional platform for promoting producers and suppliers of finishing materials, interior salons, and design studios. 106 companies exhibited at the first edition of Design&Decor St. Petersburg The exhibition was presented in the following areas: Finishing materials Furniture, interior items, decorative textile goods Paints, decorative coatings Interior items Doors and fittings Wall and floor coatings Lighting, electrics engineering Ceramics, plumbing fixtures The Lighting sector featured a group of St. Petersburg fashion designers presenting several design series of exclusive lights. I have had call to take part in many trade exhibitions, both Russian and European, and I can confidently say that Design&Decor is successful among visitors, despite the fact that it is being held for the first time. The number of people wanting to attend masterclasses and educational lectures held within the programme testifies to the demand for this exhibition among designers and interior designers. People were prepared to stand on the escalator and look through the open door of the pavilion just to listen to the useful information! This means that next year, an educational venue can confidently be prepared with the expectation of a much larger audience! The range of companies and stands presenting the latest in design and interior decor was encouraging. I was able to find several interesting solutions that I plan to use in future for wall painting and decoration. What was excellent was that people had no hesitation at all in coming up and directly introducing themselves, exchanging business cards and contact details! The project was designed by Gábor Pottyondy, an architect from Diadem, a leading Hungarian green roof construction company. Thanks to participation in Design&Decor, Green Arrow acquired several useful new business contacts, as well as clients for creating private gardens and for participation in our educational, touristic and other projects in landscaping. It was particularly nice to see good organisation and to observe the abundance of exhibitors and visitors. We particularly liked the Decor section, as we are currently developing new areas for the firm namely, decor for major trading companies. Design&Decor was the only place where anyone interested had an opportunity to attend the Design&Decor School intensive two-day training session, run by leading teaching staff from international design schools. The St. Petersburg International Design School was the partner and co-organiser of the school. Partners of the Club Strategic partner 116 professionals attended the school over the two days of the exhibition The course was developed to provide additional training for interior design professionals. Design&Decor made a good impression on me as a place to meet real professionals producers, designers and specialists from related industries. I would like to note the presence of people at my seminar who really were interested in developing their projects and their business in general. 10 Testimonials For us, Design&Decor was a unique experience of taking part in an exhibition event that combined a business platform and an art space. We got new potential clients in the form of design studios and private architects, planners and designers. Discussion with young professionals who showed lively interest in our products was particularly promising for us. I d like to point out that the exhibition was well maintained in terms of its thematic focus, and this means ease of work for exhibitors and visitors. Exhibition like this are of course necessary in St. Petersburg, particularly for companies in the interiors market.
