3 Melbourne Indesign 2014 Keyword: Inception Café Culture +Insitu DKO Architecture and Hot Black Recently merged brand, Café Culture +Insitu enlisted the creative expertise of DKO Architecture and Hot Black to celebrate collaboration and its importance as they look towards the future. Incredibly colourful and bright Engaged visitors in a unique experience Created a sense of fun and excitement

4 Sydney Indesign 2013 Keyword: Process Coco Republic & Smeg Futurespace In cinematic darkness, visitors were confronted with the need to make a choice betwee two different journeys. Each journey celebrated the craftsmanship and design process of two cultures, the Italian Smeg or the English Timothy Oulton Exhibition. Highly engaging and experiential: visitors were asked to choose their own adventure Celebrated history and craftsmanship in a fun and interactive way A sensory experience: the installation incorporated heightened sound effects that reflected the manufacturing processes involved in both brands

5 Sydney Indesign 2013 Keyword: Process Seehosu BVN Seehosu celebrated beautiful Japanese design in this laneway installation. Visitors were invited to explore the Urban Sakura Garden as they wandered through the Maruni Bonsai Field. There was a nice synergy between the installation and the Seehosu brand Cheap and cost-effective installation Maximum visual effect without the need for complex infastructure Utilised height Site-specific work

6 Melbourne 2012 Keyword: Activate Bespoke Tiles Michael Kai From photograph to large-scale mural the iconic Flinders Street Station is brought to life and re-invented using the stunning light reflective surfaces of handcrafted glass tiles. The WOW Factor. At 5.6m in length, the mural utilised over 100,000 individual pieces of mosaic tile Product integration

7 Melbourne 2012 Keyword: Activate Earp Brothers Kit Webster & Chiara Kickdrum Aptly titled Porcelana Innovadora, Earp Brothers partnered with Kit Webster and Chiara Kickdrum to create a series of mysterious projections of light and pattern. The team used modern technologies to show their latest range of tiles in a whole new way It was dynamic and engaging. Visitors were mesmerised by the mirroring and reflection of various geometric shapes

8 Melbourne 2012 Keyword: Activate Signature Floorconcepts HBO+EMTB Signature Floorconcepts aimed to showcase their latest product launch, CMYK Colour Concepts in partnering with HBO+EMTB. Visitors were invited to throw CMYK confetti into the air and a photographer was on hand to freeze the moment when the confetti was suspended. Very social media friendly: the images were uploaded straight onto the Signaturefloor Facebook page where visitors could comment, repost or share The photographs were bright, colourful and fun, just like the installation itself

9 Melbourne 2012 Keyword: Activate Space Hassell & Condensed This installation was part of a slow reveal, in which visitors were guided on a journey from street level, around the showroom and beyond. Space was able to subtly dictate to the visitors the path through their large showroom Very photogenic - this graphic and repetitive pattern was captured by many visitors cameras and is often used in our own event coverage Low cost and easily sourced materials

10 Melbourne 2012 Keyword: Activate Temperature Design & Archilux Clare Cousins Architects Inspired by Tanabata, The Japanese Star Festival, this colourful collaboration saw visitors writing wishes on sections of ribbon and attaching them to rows of thread around the showroom. Visitors enjoyed the opportunity to engage with this progressive installation and take a moment to share their ambitions and hopes A sense of community was created in individuals participating in this work Bright and colourful

11 Melbourne 2012 Keyword: Activate Zip Studio Equator Zip and Studio Equator created a pop-up installation reminiscent of a water wonderland. Their concept was based on the flowing and reflective nature of water. A bright and colourful installation that was designed to intrigue and excite The team had a clear idea of their conceptual direction and this was reflected throughout the entire space

12 Sydney 2011 Keyword: Element Tappeti, Viabizzuno & Envoy Furniture Hassell & UNSW Interior Architecture Students Visitors followed the Yellow Levey Road, made out of Yellow Pages, which wound up three floors of the Levey showroom. Low cost. Only 8 Yellow Pages and some tape were all that was needed to create an exciting visual to guide visitors across 3 floors and into 3 showrooms

13 Singapore 2011 Keyword: Connect BW Furniture & Infinity Hassell & Lasalle College of the Arts Under BW Furniture & Infinity s conceptual direction Connectivity and Sustainability: Together We Can, Hassell and Lasalle College of the Arts created an installation that played with the projection of shadows. Sculptures of people were made from used soft drink cans and strategically placed around the showroom. A light was then projected onto these sculptures and the shadow created looked as though a person was sitting on the furniture. Not costly. The partnership utilised recycled cans An element of surprise. Visitors had to look a second time Fun, playful and clever

14 Melbourne 2010 Keyword: Motion InterfaceFlor Geyer, Gray Puksand, Housemouse, Moth Design, SpaceLeft, Trout Creative, Whitehouse Institute of Design, Woodhead, Woods Bagot, Y2 Architects The designers approached InterfaceFlor s product in two creative stages: dekonstrukt & rekonstruct. The InterfaceFlor carpet tile was first pared back to its raw ingredients, and then reconstructed as an art installation. This was in response to one simple brief: Inspire emotion. Not costly. Using their own product meant costs were kept low Product integration. Showing that carpet tiles can be a creative tool, not an afterthought An open brief. Designers were simply given product and a theme
