71 CNC CUTTING Ever wanted your brand to STAND out? We offer a computerised wood cutting service, via use of CNC (Computer Numeric Control) Routers. A CNC router is a computer controlled, motorised machine that uses a normal router or spindle to cut profiles. CNC cutting is very similar to what most people think is laser cutting. The difference is we use spindles and not lasers, water jet, or plasma cutters to cut. We cater for all types of industry that require once off stencils or high volume orders. 75 20 QUESTIONS Some of the more frequent questions we get asked about our services offerings. FURNITURE I M NOT SURE WHAT WILL WORK AT MY EVENT OR ON MY EXHIBITION STAND. If you are unsure what to put on your stand or what furniture to use at your event, you can browse through our catalogue and look at how other companies have incorporated our furniture. You can also view our furniture package pages. Alternatively our project managers or sales staff will be happy to discuss your needs with you and recommend different options that are available. HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I HAVE TO ORDER MY FURNITURE? For events that we, as Compex, are the official infrastructure contractor, all Service Order Forms must reach us on or before the deadline date stipulated in the exhibitors manual. If we are not the official infrastructure contractor, but you are using our furniture on your exhibition stand or at your upcoming event our project manager or sales team will let you know exactly when your order should be in by usually it s a week prior to the event. I'M ON SITE BUT HAVE REALISED THAT I DIDN T ORDER ENOUGH, WHAT DO I DO NOW? You will need to call us or chat to us on-site to make sure we have the stock available and vehicles ready for delivery. It s important to note that any orders received on-site, and providing we can supply these orders, will be subject to a late on-site fee of R 650 (excluding VAT). I M A SHOW ORGANISER, CAN YOU ASSIST ME WITH ALL THE FURNITURE? Our lending library team works with many organisers through-out South Africa and even into Africa, furnishing conference & meeting rooms, exhibitor stands, organisers offices, registration desks and providing branding solutions. We have worked on and built many large shows as the official furniture and infrastructure supplier. We have a dedicated team for this and always do our utmost to ensure the furniture side of the show runs flawlessly. CAN I ORDER FURNITURE THE DAY BEFORE A SHOW OR EVENT? Yes. You will need to call us to make sure we have the stock available and vehicles ready for delivery. It s important to note that for a show in particular, any orders received after the deadline date as stipulated either in the exhibitor manual or with the sales representative, will be subject to a R 200 (excluding VAT) late order fee. 76 CAN I COLLECT MY OWN ORDER? We are always open to suggestions, although we do not recommend this, as a lot of factors such as transport and packaging need to be taken into account. In our experience the general movement of furniture and event infrastructure is where the most damage takes place. HOW DO I CLEAN THE THINGS I HIRE? We always ensure that the items you have hired from us, are properly cleaned upon delivery. We would suggest that you have a soft cloth on site to wipe furniture at the beginning of each day usually there are a lot of people walking around and dust or little or large fingerprints can be left on some surfaces. I HAVE SOMETHING PARTICULAR IN MIND, BUT CAN'T FIND IT IN YOUR CATALOGUE! If there is something not in our catalogue that you want, let us know. We have a great team of carpenters who can make most things and have great relationships with other furniture providers, so we can source almost anything! CAN I PURCHASE THE FURNITURE? Our lending library team will consider selling stock as ex-rental. You will need to for quotations as they are not the same price as the rental prices. We can also quote for us to deliver, courier or its free if you wish to collect. All sold items will be cleaned and packaged prior to despatch. AUDIO VISUAL WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER DOESN T PLAY FAIR ON THE DAY OF OUR EVENT? Unfortunately there are some dynamics we can t control and since safety is always top of mind we will always take the environment in which we operate into consideration. If adverse weather conditions or health and safety concerns prevents us from erecting equipment and you insist on installation, you will be held accountable for any damages to the equipment or additional costs. SOUND IS SO IMTANT AT AN EVENT. HOW CAN I ENSURE AS FAR AS POSSIBLE THAT THE EVENT GOES WELL? In the interest of playing it safe we always recommend our clients to ensure that any necessary sound checks are performed within sufficient time. We also suggest that your presentations are sent to us prior to the event and organised in the correct order. Please always remember to let us know when sound is required in your presentations. DO I STILL NEED TO PAY YOU IF THE WEATHER IS AN ISSUE? Should Compex decline to install equipment due to weather conditions or health and safety concerns, you will remain liable for the full payment as quoted, these items have been cleaned, packaged and delivered, we can not give refunds but can gladly remove them for you. WILL YOU INSTALL AND TRANST MY EQUIPMENT FOR ME? We re all about making our client s life easier, but accidents can and do happen, therefore we only take responsibility for the installation and transport of our own equipment. DO YOU PROVIDE SUITABLE ELECTRICAL SERVICES? You, the organiser, is responsible to ensure that an adequate and suitable electrical supply is available in the required positions. Please familiarise yourself with our terms and conditions which govern our service offering to you.if there is anything you do not understand, please feel free to directly or contact your project manager. OUR CATALOGUE IS FOR USE BY EXHIBITORS PARTICIPATING IN EXHIBITIONS FOR WHICH COMPEX HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS THE EXHIBITION SUPPLIER. ALL ITEMS ARE ON HIRE All items are on hire and remain the property of Compex and their respective suppliers, unless specifically referenced as being sold to the client. The client is responsible for the full replacement cost of any damage or loss, irrespective of how such damage or loss occurred. All hired items are the responsibility of the HIRER. Compex will only take responsibility for the installation of their own equipment. Compex takes no responsibility for transporting equipment or merchandise that belongs to the HIRER or any other service provider. MATERIALS SUPPLIED Compex will not be responsible for any wear or tear occasioned or any loss or theft that may occur. All such material is supplied at the clients own risk and no liability for any financial restitution for any direct or indirect value is accepted nor any consequential loss. INSURANCE The client is responsible to ensure that all hired items from the commencement of the installation / build to the conclusion of the breakdown / strike are adequately insured, in order to cover the full replacement cost of such items for damage and / or loss as stated in the above clause. CLIENT MATERIAL & TRANST The client is responsible to ensure that all material belonging to the client is removed from the installation prior to breakdown. For hired items, there may be an additional transportation fee. We will, however, notify the client of this, prior to the confirmation of order. The client is responsible for the arrangement of their own transportation and labour for this function. Compex is not responsible for any material or items left on-site by the client, unless a specific written agreement to this effect has been agreed upon. OVERTIME & ADDITIONAL COSTS If the build-up and breakdown occurs on Saturday, Sunday, Public holidays or necessitates commencement before 06:00 or after 18:00 (including travel time, we have the option to charging an additional R95 per crew member, per hour. Additional costs which are levied by the venue or organiser will be for the account of the client. For example, Access levies, Performance Bonds, Damage Deposits, Electrical Supply, Inspections, if incurred, will be invoiced to the client after the event. The HIRER is responsible for all additional costs, inclusive of cherry pickers, that may be incurred due to technical as well as other requirements that may be included within Tech-Riders submitted by entertainers, performers etc ARTWORK/IMAGES Compex is a exhibition design house only and does not facilitate graphic design work unless specifically requested. It is therefore the responsibility of the client to forward all artwork and graphics to Compex made to the right panel sizes provided. Artwork is to be supplied at a Hi Resolution of 300 dpi at 10% or 90 dpi at full size. Please supply the artwork and images in a Vector or Bitmap format. Artwork should be sent 5 days prior build-up, should this not iccure we may request a 20% management fee to ensure timely delivery. Should artwork need to be resized, or changed on behalf of the client a further 20% management fee will be incurred, this will be discussed with the CLIENT prior to commensing. COPYRIGHT & IP All designs, drawings, renderings, documents, pictures, plans and materials are the property of Compex and all copyright and intellectual property rights therein vest exclusively in Compex. Any unauthorised copying, adapting, use, transmission, reproduction or reverse engineering thereof, for whatever purpose and by whatever means, whether in full or in part, without prior written consent of Compex is prohibited. Anyone who uses, distributes or makes infringing copies of this design will be guilty of an infringement of copyright. ADDITIONAL ONSITE CONSDERATIONS It is expected that the HIRER will supply an on-site medic for duration on the event, inclusive of build-up and strike. The HIRER is to supply electrical services as well as electrical and structural certification if not included in this quote. The HIRER is responsible to ensure that an adequate and suitable electrical supply is available in the required positions. If it is necessary to install electrical equipment, cabling, extensions or similar, all such amounts are for the account of the HIRER. If adverse weather conditions or health and safety concerns prevents Compex erecting equipment and the HIRER insists on installation, the HIRER will be held accountable for any damages to the equipment or additional costs. 77 CATALOGUE 2018 QUESTIONS & TERMS AND CONDITIONS

79 T S & C S The rules of the game! Should Compex decline to install equipment due to weather conditions or health and safety concerns, the HIRER will remain liable for the full payment as quoted. The HIRER is responsible to ensure that any necessary sound checks, may be performed as appropriate and within sufficient time. SHELL SCHEME PANELS & CARPETING Our Shell scheme panels and capeting are not to be damaged or altered in any way. Only Velco tape, prestick, or 's' hooks may be used to affix graphics onto shell scheme panels. Any damages or shortages will be for the exhibitors account and shall be charged at full replacement value. PROPOSAL ACCEPTANCE Acceptance of this proposal indicates that the individual / company signing for approval of the proposal accepts the full financial obligation to Compex in the full amount of this contract, and that this liability will only be discharged once Compex has received payment in full for such services, regardless whether or not such payment has already been made to any other third party. All related information pertaining to customer billing information should be provided on acceptance of the proposal. VALIDITY This proposal is only valid for five (5) days. PAYMENT SCHEDULE AND CANCELLATION The signed acceptance form indicates acceptance of this proposal. If appropriate this must be accompanied by the clients Purchase Order Number. A 60% deposit is due upon contact confirmation. An invoice for this amount will be presented, and payment is required within 30 days of contact confirmation. Full payment is required prior to the completion of the build-up and handover. Services will not be fully installed until full payment has been recieved by Compex. Proof of payment should be sent to Internationally based clients are required to pay 100% of the projected total 30 days prior to the commencement of the build-up. If you have placed and order and we delivered the items, no refund is possible as we have cleaned, packages and transported our items. Likewise if you cancel your order half-way through an event a collection charge may be applicable and no refund may be given. Upon completion of the project the client will be further invoiced or refunded, as appropriate, depending upon the final project specifications. All hire charges that are levied by the venue or other services providers and contractors not directly contracted by Compex, in respect of the event, of example cleaning, drayage and security will not be for the account of Compex, and Compex is not liable for payment of such accounts. It should be noted that Compex, its employees, contractors will always act in good faith as a contractor to the organisers of the event, and will not be responsible for any financial or other liabilities incurred by the organisers in the hosting of the event. 78 CATALOGUE 2018 QUESTIONS & TERMS AND CONDITIONS
