8 About Tianjin Tianjin is located in the northeast of the North China Plain in the Bohai Sea area. It is one of four metropolis cities with a population of over 10 million people and is 30 minutes away from Beijing by a high-speed-train link. Tianjin has a rich history and has many examples of old British and Italian architecture. The famous Italian concession area has the largest cluster of old Italian architecture outside of Italy. Like most Chinese municipalities, downtown Tianjin, is now a modern, developed city. This city has retained an authentic Chinese way of life. Tianjin has a reputation throughout China for being extremely friendly, safe and a place of delicious food where cost of living is rather inexpensive. 8

9 About Weather in Tianjin August is also one of the hottest months, as well as rainy. The weather is almost the same as in July, with an average maximum temperature of 31 C (88 F) and aminimum ii temperate of 21 C (70 F). Wear a T-shirt and long trousers on a fine day. On rainy days, a T-shirt with a light coat and long trousers can help you manage the weather. 9
