5 Project Timeline 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake damages Embarcadero Freeway, Terminal Separator Structure, and Transbay Terminal 1991 Freeway removed and Embarcadero Promenade constructed 1996 Transbay Redevelopment Project Area, which includes Folsom Street SF voters approve Prop H authorizing new Transit Center 2001 Transbay Joint Powers Authority formed to build new Transbay Transit Center 2005 Rincon Hill & Transbay Redevelopment Plans adopted 2006 Transbay Streetscape and Open Space Plan adopted 2010 Transbay Transit Center breaks ground 2012 Transit Center District Plan adopted Folsom Street design refinement Folsom Street construction Folsom Street interim condition (with AC Transit lanes) 2018 Transbay Transit Center opens and Temporary Terminal closes. Folsom street is restriped to final condition

11 Guiding Policies from: Project Goals Fulfill Folsom Street s role as a neighborhood main street and allow for its conversion to balanced 2-way traffic and to link the Transbay and Rincon Hill neighborhoods. Support a pedestrian oriented mixed-use residential district through streetscape and alley designs. Implement sustainable strategies to support a livable community. The street provides for multiple modes of transportation and promotes transit, walking and biking.
