The aim of the programme #becircular is to engage the construction sector in introducing job creation for Brussels workers in niche and promising circular economy sectors such as renovations and new constructions, thereby decreasing the unemployment rate. 2 10h20 Commerce and Food Commerce is the third largest sector in terms of job creation in Brussels-Capital Region. The aim of the #becircular programme is to inspire the commercial landscape s environmental initiatives by pushing for more innovative projects as well as the steady growth of the number of businesses operating on the basis of circular economy principles. The first circular businesses have already been launched in Brussels and around Europe. The #becircular programme aims at promoting the principle of repair, re-use and recycle to the benefit of local employment and the circular economy. The priority measures are: re-use and repair; new flows; construction and demolition waste; and a series of horizontal measures (training, ecodesign; R&D; lawmaking; Extended Producer Responsability ) This session will consider Brussels and European good practices together with innovative programmes.
