It also sets to initiate a cross-sector discussion about the prospects, pitfalls challenges and future research needs related to the application of economic (market-based) policy instruments in other environmental fields (such as climate adaptation and biodiversity protection). EPI-WATER (Evaluating Economic Policy Instrument for Sustainable Water Management in Europe) is a FP7 funded project ( ) set to analyse the performance of economic policy instruments in Europe and beyond, and produce recommendation for a better exploitation of the potential of these instruments for achieving the EU environmental objectives. Intended audience: The conference is dedicated to policy makers, professionals and researchers interested in environmental (especially water) economics and policies. 3
