HUMNICS SANCTUARY VISION STATEMENT The Vision of the Humanics Sanctuary is to be a unique Multi-cultural, Multi- Religious, and Multi-Generational Canadian Institution focused on promoting principles of Non-Violence, human development, justice and peace in the world, through programs or ventures aimed at understanding and appreciating: a) The Oneness of Reality, b) The need to Respect the Inherent Dignity of all human Beings, and c) The Intrinsic Relationship between Human Beings and the Cosmic and Natural Environment in the World around us.
It should be emphasized that the essential values indicated in our Vision Statement are also values that we in Canada particularly subscribe to as Canadian Values. The very fact that Canada considers itself to be a multicultural, multi-racial, multireligious country, reflects our own commitment to Oneness of Reality, Respect and Dignity of all Human Beings, and the Intrinsic Relationship between Human being and the Cosmic and Natural Environment around us. Canada s commitment to being a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multiethnic and multi-religious country does not necessarily mean that we will subscribe to fundamental beliefs of any religion, racial, or ethnic group, but we will always accommodate, those aspects of their faith that do not contradict essential universal values, that happen to be Canadian values as well.
Managed by the Humanics Institute a Non Profit Corporation HUMANICS INSTITUTE: Humanics Sanctuary and Sculpture Park will be an initiative of the Humanics Institute, a Canadian Federally registered Non Profit Organization, managed by an Independent Board of Directors. Registration No The Humanics Institute is in the process of applying to be a registered Charitable Organization under the Canadian Income Tax Act. The Activities of the Humanics Institute Include: Be involved in mutually respectful international development cooperation initiatives, particularly in the fields of Education, health, and cooperative initiatives in environment. Develop and manage a multi-cultural, multi-religious, and multigenerational Humanics Sanctuary Undertake Research and Publications that demonstrate the link between the essential values outlined in the Vision Statement and sustainable development peace and justice in the world.
MULTI-CULTURAL, MULTI-RELIGIOUS, AND MULTI-GENERATIONAL SANCTUARY The Humanics Sanctuary : will be a holy place where there will be an area set out for each of the major religions and racial and cultural regions in the world, and reflect how the different religions, and cultures reflect the essential values outlined in the Vision Statement. It will be a place of refuge, where one can sit down and meditate on and appreciate the essential common values outlined in the vision statement and relax in a pleasant forest environment. It will be a reservation where animals, birds, trees and plants are protected. A special effort will be made, not only to protect the natural environment, but to enhance the environment by planting of perennial species of trees and plants, that would be well adapted to that habitat.
MULTI-RELIGIOU SANCTUARY The Humanics Sanctuary will be a Multi-Religious Sanctuary, with specific areas allocated to: Christianity. Buddhism. Hinduism. Islam. Judaism. Aboriginal Spirituality. Sikhism. Baha i faith Other Religions in the World and Humanism.
A MULTI-CULTURAL SANCTUARY The Humanics Sanctuary will be a Multi-Cultural Sanctuary, with specific areas allocated to sculptures from: Asia West Asia (Europe), South West Asia (Middle East), South Asia, South East Asia, East Asia, and North Asia. America North America, Central America, and South America. Africa North Africa, East Africa, South Africa, West Africa, and Central Africa. Austro Oceanic Countries - Australia & New Zealand, Oceanic
A MULTI-GENERATIONAL SANCTUARY From wonder To Wisdom The Humanics Sanctuary will be a Multi- Generational Sanctuary, with specific programs and activities for different age groups within the Canadian society. This would include: A play area for young children, made entirely out of natural environmentally compatible material. A picnic area, close to the play area for young families. Educational and Research program, for school age children, based on the Vision of the Humanics Sanctuary. Wellbeing programs such as meditation, Yoga, for young adults and. Special recreational religious and volunteer, Programs for Seniors.
SOME OTHER SANCTUARIES OR SCULPTURE PARKS IN THE WORLD. Most of the other sanctuaries or sculpture parks in the world are work of a particular sculptor Hardly any of them are dedicated to reflect the essential human values. One exception is the Rickett s Sanctuary in Mt. Dendedenong, in Victoria, which attempts to demonstrate, that the essential value of Australian Aborigines is that life is love. (Pictures 1 & 2 ). Some other Sculpture Parks in the world: 1. Bruno s Art and Sculpture Garden Marysvill Victoria (Picture 3). 2. Brookgreen Gardens, Mytle Beach South Carolina (picture 4).
A UNIQUE CANADIAN INSTITUTION. The Humanics Sanctuary is intended to be a unique Canadian Institution reflecting Canada s commitment to; Co-values outlined in the Humanics Sanctuary s Vision Statement; Canada s multi-cultural multireligious heritage; Freedom, equality, fairness and justice, enshrined in the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms. And a significant place to visit within the City of Ottawa Hull, the National Capital of Canada.
