Major Accomplishments 11.1 Hajj Oasis Year: 2010 Location: Ma'an- Jordan Client: Ma'an Development Company Main project features: Hajj Oasis is one of the four clusters comprising Ma'an Development Area. Its development is meant to offer temporary accommodation and various services to pilgrims on their way to Mecca and back as it is estimated that over one million pilgrims pass every year for Hajj and Omrah. The 200 Dunum site is located on the Desert Highway (11) km to the north of Ma an City. 4 11.7 Detailed Master Plan of Ma'an Residential Compound 11.8 Madaba Industrial Estate Positions held: Researcher A research project awarded to Dr. Murad Kalaldeh by the EU-Jordan Research: Development of an expert-decision system which functions on screen to indicate the labour force supply needed and expected for an investment park. Year: (Under Construction) Location: Ma'an- Jordan Client: Ma'an Development Company Main project features: The preparation of a Detailed Master Plan for the Housing project located near Al-Hussein University, which has being designed by Halcrow as a conceptual master plan. Managing the preparation of 3D presentation Environmental House Aqaba Passenger Terminal Year: 2004 Client: King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau KADDB Main project features: Preparation of construction drawings for a pioneer research project for KADDB. The House is located on the Dead Sea shore and is planned to function fully through solar energy. Positions held: Project manager. supervising the detailed design phase and coordination between various engineering specialities. Year: 2005 (Constructed) Location: Aqaba- Jordan Client: Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority & Aqaba Development Company Main project features: Rehabilitation and extension of the existing Passenger Terminal, Berth and external yards. In addition to that new buildings were added to the site and tender documents for the refurbishment of existing buildings and design and new gates and hangars were prepared SIGMA Strategic Plan Aqaba Container Terminal Year: 2006 Client: CEO of SIGMA Consulting Engineers Main project features: Formulating a short and medium-term strategic plan which defined the core values, the companies' Vision and Mission. Strategic objectives were formulated and an action plan was designed in order to accomplish the set goals within the planned time frame. Positions held: Head of Committee 1. Reviewing previous committees recommendations; 2. Conducting meetings with key managers and stuff; 3. Studying the existing directives and the extent of implementation; 4. Assisting the need for a Quality Management System (SMS) such as ISO; 5. Finalizing the companies organisational chart; 6. Formulating sub-committees for employees saving fund and human resources. 7. Preparing the implementation plan schedule and the final plan report and document. Year: 2005 (Constructed) Location: Aqaba- Jordan Client: Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority & Aqaba Development Company Main project features: Planning adequate Entrance and Exit paths and Gates, which grant the smooth flow of truck under full security surveillance. Ali Abu Alragheb (former Prime Minister) Main project features: Conceptual and detailed design of a Mixed-use commercial building consisting of Shops and Offices in Amman- Alrabieh. 9 11.21 Al-Hassan Industrial Estate Ma an Industrial Estate Year: (Constructed) Location: Ramtha- Jordan Client: Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation Main project features: Urban design and detailed site works for the extension of the existing Industrial Estate in order to provide additional investment plots ( ) m 2. Positions held: Urban Planner 1. Conducting site visits, surveys and analysis; 2. Arranging and attending meetings for all involved parties; 3. Submitting and presenting potential solutions for all site expansion; 4. Implementing the agreed-upon solution on detailed master plan and site works. 5. Preparation of tender documents. 6. Follow-up of Model work. Year: (Phase One constructed) Location: Ma an- Jordan Client: Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation. Main project features: Completely new Industrial Estate in south province of Jordan, (8) kilometres east of the city of Ma an. The general layout of the project was planned in a manner so that it could be carried out into three phases of almost equal areas. The project was planned to have integrated services and infrastructure networks that can easily expand in the future. The main features are: 1. Administrative complex situated in phase (1) of the project with a total roof area of (2 075) m (122) Investment plots distributed over (9) investment sectors for phase (1) of the project, (152) investment plots distributed over (12) investment sectors for phase (2) of the project, and (91) investment plots distributed over (8) investment sectors for phase (3) of the project. 3. Integrated networks of primary and secondary roads of different widths with a total length of (15 357) m and a total paved area of ( ) m 2 for all (3) Phases. 4. Integrated infrastructure networks (water, storm, sewerage, electricity, street lighting, communications and fire hydrants) for each phase of the project. 5. Follow-up of Model work Ma an Residential Compound Year: 1996 (Constructed) Location: Ma an City- Jordan Client: Jordan Phosphate Mines Company. Main project features: Residential gated complex for the employees serving at Al- Sydeyeh Industrial Complex east of Ma'an City. General Layout Plan was organized taking under consideration the expected future extension. The detail design was made for the First Phase, which consist of (100) Residential Units. Three Building Types was designed each 122/ 145 / 168 m 2. Each two units were attached to each other building a semi detached System with a separate outdoor space. A School for girls with an area of (4 000) m 2 was designed using Building System No. (5) that was developed at RSS. A 45-m high water Tower with a capacity of (200) m 3 was located in the highest level available serves the Site with the necessary water demand. Additional Underground Water Reservoir with a capacity of (650) m 3 was designed to support the Water Storage. (45) hectare= (450 dunum, m 2 ). Positions held: Urban Planner. 11 11.24 Builder-Owner Manual Year: Completed & Published Client: General Cooperation for Housing and Urban Development Main project features: The Citizen s Manuals for Building were published in 2003 and consists of (8) volumes, five of them were written by Dr. Murad Kalaldeh as Author with partial contribution of co-authors. This publication was designed in a simple way supported by text, figures and pictures that illustrate the various stages of design for family housing and ways of construction. These Volumes are: Volume (4): Site Selection and Engineering Drawings. Volume (5): Site Activities and Excavations Volume (6): Building Skeleton. Volume (7): Insulation Works and Finishes.
