Campus / Village: Let the park and open space serve as a focal point to the surrounding community. Smart Growth: Walkable/Livable/Enjoyable. Healthy: A community that promotes healthy lifestyles. Environmental Conservation: Safe guard natural environment. Restoration: Restore the remains of the woodland savanna and prairie. Restore Spencer Creek shoreline and wetllands. Water Quality: Improve Spencer Creek water quality. preliminary program Economic Quality: Develop park land that adds to the value of the surrounding community. Opportunity: Develop facilities that provide opportunity for revenue.
6 Preliminary Program Pathways Diverse trail types; paved, aggregate, dirt or mulch. Multiple connections to adjacent and regional trails. Circulation trail loops within Park with distance markers. ADA compliant paved trails. Cross country running course on grass; 5k/3.1mi. Cross country skiing trails, could be shared with running. preliminary program Vehicular Multiple vehicular access points; no thru drives. Shared street access with school from Forest Grove Road. Vehicular access to area north of Spencer Creek. Vehicular access to northeast area of Park. Parking accommodations dispersed throughout the Park. Do not overbuild parking; grass parking for large events. Structures Day lodge; 150 person capacity, ± 9,600 SF. Picnic shelters; small and large people. Restrooms.
7 Preliminary Program Ecological Enhanced Oak Savanna; natives only. Reconstructed Prairie and Grasslands; designed to burn. Create environments for native ecosystems to reestablish. Water Quality Spencer Creek corridor enhancement. Reconstructed wetlands. Bioinfiltration cells at impervious paving areas. Education and Interpretation Outdoor teaching classroom(s); amphitheatre. Environmental signage and educational kiosks. preliminary program Passive Recreation Low-intensity soft trails through savanna and prairie. Community gardens, including enabling gardens for seniors. Active Recreation Large open space or great lawn ; min. 500 x 700. Horseshoe pits; adjacent to shelters. 18-hole disc golf course and practice basket(s). Bike park; accommodate a diverse range of user skills. Adventure/team building course; ropes, climbing tower, etc. Dec hockey rinks; plan for four. Art Iconic community identity marker north of Spencer Creek; visual presence from Interstate 80. Smaller/similar markers at Park entry portals; brand the Park

Parking facilities for trucks and horse trailers. Baseball Outdoor facility: Future home for Barnstormers league. (3) 400-ft grass fields. (1) 250-ft grass field. (1) 120-ft rubber surface field; ADA compliant. Ability to integrate Barnstormers players with new league for individuals with disabilities.
