To top it all this is one of the very few waterfalls which is perrennial. The crater shaped bowl into which the waterfall cascades and the lake at the bottom of the waterfall is truly a spectacular site for the urbanite. Outline of Program: Saputara is situated in the Dang district of Gujarat. This beautiful hill station is situated at an elevation of about 1000m above sea level. It is located on a plateau in the Dang forest area. Adding to the beauty of Saputara is the River Sarpganga which flows through the town. The hill retreat is situated about 80kms from Nashik (Maharashtra), 112kms from Bilimora (Gujarat), 172kms from Surat (Gujarat), 280kms from Mumbai (Maharashtra), 300kms from Vadodra (Gujarat) and 420kms from Ahmedabad (Gujarat). The temperature in summer goes up to a maximum of 32 C and a minimum of 27 C. In winter, on the other hand the temperature remains between 16 C and 10 C. Saputara in monsoon receives an average rainfall (from July to September) of 254 cm. 6 Report of educational visits and expert lectures ( ) Guest Lecture: Dr. Mahesh Shindikar Asst. Professor, COEP, Pune Guest Lecture for the Environmental Science Course Dr. Mahesh Shindikar, an Environmental Expert from College of Engineering, Pune, was invited on 18 th September 2017 to deliver a special lecture at School of Science. The invited speaker discussed the various issues of the contemporary environmental issues, pollution and ecological imbalance. The lecture was quite interesting and thought provoking as deduced from the patience shown by the students during the 2 hour long lecture. The lecture culminated in very interesting discussion wherein there was an open question answer session between students and the invited speaker. First year students of School of Science, School of Commerce and Management, School of Computer Science were attended the lecture. Prof. Sureshchandra Zambare, Dean, School of Science were concluded the session with facilitating the guest. Dr. Mahesh also had discussion with Dr. Rosilda Selvin, Dean Research and other faculties on the present challenging problems in nature and the environmentalist. Guest Lecture: Dr. Sharad Kambale Asst.Prof., Arts, Commerce and Science College, Trambaleshwar, Nashik. Guest Lecture for Botany Student Dr. Sharad Kambale was an examiner for the practical examination for B.Sc and M.Sc. Practical Examination. He is the one of the eminent and young taxonomist of India having field expertise and specifically family Apocynaceae. He had many new species described from Western Ghats. He had informally interacted with the students and then conducted a lecture and explained them how the individual is taxonomist and how they are expertise. The same skill they can apply while doing the classification of plant with understanding the basic botanical terminology. The lecture was very lucid and helpful for the students as well as the faculties. He had promised our students that he will participate in our educational and excursion tour.

Event Venue: Papaya s Nursery 5. Event Details: field visit to Papaya s Nursery. To observe cultivation practices of Garden Plants 6. Outline of Program: Papaya's nursery was planted in 1990 with a dream of revolutionizing indoor & outdoor beautification. Pappaya's nursery is been nurtured, Spread across 8 acres on Trimbak road, Nashik. Department of Botany of School of Science, Sandip University Nashik had organized a visit to Papaya's nursery which is famous for ornamental and flowering plants on the activity of field visit under the Horticulture and Floriculture course for S.Y B,Sc.
